Had a moment of weakness today and pre ordered this box straight from GW instead of my FLGS (got the Blood Angels box from my FLGS). GW had some cool looking wound counter bases that got me lol. This will go on the top of the pile of shame to be done after my current projects.
I appreciate that gw miniatures are made in the UK, not cheaply outsourced to China. It's good to encourage jobs and skills "domestically", but there has got to be a cheaper option for our kiwi and Oz cousins?!? Their products are already expensive enough here in the UK, but the crazy prices abroad will ultimately hurt gw.
@@genghisgahan9623 I think it is more to do with how GW calculate their prices. Back when they started with NZ in a big way, the exchange rate was 3 NZ$ to 1 British Pound. Now the exchange rate hovers around 2 to 1, over a period of a number of years. GW just never changed the equation used to accommodate this fact., even though it has been decades since the 3:1 ratio has been valid. They may not want to do this change as they: Still make money Don't do discounts (or appear to be doing so) Think we are just used to it (which we kinda are)
What colors did you use to match the terrain with the game board so well? Could you please share a small summary of the painting steps? (Yes, I watched the other terrain painting video, but the buildings look more blue ne were painted to fit a brown ground instead of the grey one we have in this box)
Yeah, the one thing I've noticed with GW's starter sets is that the quality of some components has decreased drastically, while prices keep increasing, and we get less stuff (depends on the box). The fact that we get tiny white dice instead of custom ones like in KT 2018 or even Warcry is ridiculous. Having cardboard measuring sticks is okay as long as they include the plastic one but my guess is that they'll eventually only be available in the separate, overpriced sets. At least we don't have to cut out our own tokens like the shitty paper ones included in the Ultimate Starter Set for 10th Ed. The quality of the cardboard boxes has also been worse and worse, and the paper envelopes while environmentally friendly, is lower quality too.
It looks so good but the bar to entry is just way too high. Spec ops and tac ops and hip hops and goodness knows what. There’s so much to do before you even pick up a model. It’s such a shame because the models and terrain are lovely and a game that’s fits on a coffee table is very appealing.
I got into painting war hammer about 1 year ago! And today i got the kill team hive storm to learn how to play! I’m super excited

The box is NZ $460.
Which is about 3 weeks groceries for a me, a single man, living alone.
Liking the structure to the videos you've done here Ash.
305 nzd shipped from NZ to nz. Worth waiting for the shipping time at that difference

You sir, have just earned a sub. Excellent review.
i get this box for only the terrain and use in combat patrol or normal games, both kill teams now abandoned in a box for eternity.. (i play tyranids)
The new terrain looks sweet. Hopefully they do add some cinematic terrain in the expansions.
I want a crashed truck or lander so baaaaad
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames that would be dope
Nice! Good way to spend my morning coffee time.

Nice video 🙌🏻. I watched the terrain video, some great tips. What colours did you use for the hivestorm terrain? Thanks 👌🏻
Maybe Magnetize The Tempestor leader´s arms so you can just change them out, or hook it with plastic like old figure toys used to do.
180 euros... ouch.
At 100e I would have been all over this but... the terrain seems like generic scifi ruins, which I have plenty of already.
Is the game board cardboard or did they Necromunda it up going poster paper?
It’s cardboard. Unfortunately they’re still using that flimsy cardboard for the box though.
£145 UK with some nice preorder bonuses
How do you build a box of terrain in an hour??? Do you not clean the mould lines?
I cleaned everything, the scatter is mostly one piece and it had almost no mold lines, just connection burrs to clean off.
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames you truly are my hero 😄 I ordered it, so will endeavour to match. Chalnath took me 30+ hours

Great reviews, as always, but damn if this version (and KT21 previously) doesn’t just make me want to play KT18 again.
LOL that intro music. This isn't MKBHD or some other pretentious shit
Saturday morning reviews! 👏🏾👏🏾🎉🤩🥳🎊🫡
