Why would you show ungraded log footage from the GH5 in comparison? At the very least throw a rec709 lut on

Panasonic S5 or S1H vs RED Gemini with both bodies using the same Atlas lens doing side by side comparison would’ve been much more interesting and useful imo. Bonus points if you give Panasonic external raw capabilities. The S5 currently only costs $100 more than the GH5 II. The Panasonic S series is significantly better at accurate color reproduction straight out of the camera compared to GH series… and the dynamic range and high iso capabilities on the S series is fantastic.

The anamorphic lenses and feel make that big rig setup so much cooler than from the Panasonic. I think the lens setup and shots need to be a bit different for a better comparison.

Thanks for the video. I want to see the full edit on the RED side by side with the full edit on the GH5 ii. Seeing ungraded footage at the end doesn't give me a good idea of the final image.

Try again. Next time put an anamorphic lens on the GH5 and try to match aspect ratio and colors. Sheesh.

This video was 12 minutes too long and ultimately said nothing useful. Just two older bros having a friendly chat about a camera. The footage comparison was pointless & useless. It needed to be side-by-side & graded. A wasted opportunity and a waste of everyone's time.

I buy kit from you folks!! Dug this video - great in-depth interview with Glean crew, really neat to see behind the scenes. What I liked most here was the insight into the production studio and its process. But I agree though with everyone else here that the shoot-out aspect was lacking - comparing ungraded footage makes no sense. The Red has a built-in look (like film) whereas the GH5 is LOG. The footage should have been graded with the same look, which would've allowed us to see comparisons in dynamic range and blacks. LOG footage isn't meant to be screen-ready. There's also modded lenses that give the anamorphic "look" to 4/3...
