it's okay to start with just chest or just a couple designs. This is your very first time making these items. Don't overwhelm yourself for our benefit. we will love whatever you put out
Simple is best. Maybe in the future have jumper colour + design with the option of placement and make it on demand being more expensive if there is more intricate placement and designs making it take longer even though it's "automated", she has done all the designs herself
As a nurse my thought on the sleep apnea is if you get the cpap, wear it. Get better sleep. Have more energy to be more active. And then maybe you can graduate out of the cpap. But also sleep apnea can have deviating consequences on not just your heart but you mental well being.
Fair point. I was against it but it might help since losing weight and adjusting to a healthy diet takes time and need needs to get rest and regain her health. I'm positive she can graduate out of it as she said it's only been recently she's had these issues and she has put on a little bit of weight. On a small person it can create drastic differences. I met Baylee at a convention a few years ago and She's about my height; even shorter I think and I'm 5ft 4inches.
True... I know as a nurse that your healt is going down and you have a continously having not enough sleep so the energy is going down... every day it gets worse... so yes... losing weight, no alcohol, exercise even doing some walks... cpap is okay when you have a partner that doesn't mind the noise. And for what I hear, c. Is a good sleeper and wears earplugs so it should be just fine That in combination with losing weight and a healthier lifestyle it should do the trick... ❤❤❤
My sleep apnea was worse when I was 80 lbs lighter. So while weight loss can often help, it isn’t guaranteed. Honestly, what helped me the most was getting a bed frame that allowed my mattress to raise up and down, and I started sleeping at a slight incline. It significantly reduced the amount of episodes I have each night, to the point where my most recent home study only noted three of them. You may want to try sleeping at an incline to see if that improves things. It can be a little difficult to get used to, but once you do, it definitely makes a difference in the quality of sleep you receive.
Bailey, just want to chime in - GET THE CPAP!!! Even if yours is tied to weight gain having a CPAP helps so much that it will make it easier to have energy to be more active. Use the machine to break out of the cycle. Getting better quality rest makes everything about the day so much easier and more pleasant and I can actually get stuff done. I just got my CPAP in May, and it is disgusting how much it helps and how quickly. I have a couple friends who have had similar experiences. It turns out I've had sleep apnea my whole life, and I've never had a high BMI. I've always had poor sleep and never snored so it wasn't until the daily symptoms got worse and worse into my early 30s (even as I lost weight) that I got my diagnosis. So it might be age and not as much weight related for you. Can't go hard on no sleep like a 22 yr old anymore. Some things that I realized were signs of sleep apnea all along now that I know more about it (if you relate to these from when you were younger and weighed less, might be a hint that just losing weight won't cure it): sleep paralysis (don't experience it anymore) and waking up from vivid violent dreams (lessened so much, like 90%). Having a big tongue that presses against my teeth more than other people's (I even get scalloping along my tongue from where it presses against my teeth) - big tongue is actually the cause of my apnea. Also! Needing longer naps than everyone else to get any rest - apnea usually occurs more at the beginning of sleep, so naps less than 2hrs would sometimes make me more tired! If I use my CPAP I can take a 40 min nap and feel so energized - but honestly I went from desperately needing at least 1 nap a day to napping a few times a month. Try the CPAP - don't let internalized ableism and self doubt or blame prevent you from using the tools we have to improve your well-being (since honestly, it's not your fault even if weight gain made your apnea worse, you couldn't have known, and most people who gain weight DON'T develop sleep apnea - you were either predisposed to it or had it before). I also had mild (11 ahi) and most of those weren't full apnea events (2-3 /hr for those). So pretty similar to your stats - and damn a CPAP basically helped give me my life and brain back. Hope this helps, since it seems like you might be doubting if it's worth it or if you need to force other changes first - the CPAP (or another treatment, the mouth appliance works for some people) will help you make those changes if you want. Don't punish yourself when we have the technology to treat something that is a serious medical condition.
My dear, I had apnea but then I lost 40 lbs and got an adjustable bed. Absolutely love the adjustable bed and I sleep like a dream…I think everything is connected. Don’t go crazy on the food deprivation, in my opinion, I still have a little ice cream now and then, but really treat yourself to all the healthy food you can. I do feel tons better. You are super brave to share.❤❤❤
Here's my experience with sleep apnea. I've always struggled with my weight and I got up to 330 lbs. One day my husband said he thought I might have sleep apnea which had never occurred to me, but when I looked up the symptoms, I checked off a lot of them. I would wake up with headaches every day, brain fog, memory loss, feeling exhausted all day. I saw a doctor, got a sleep study and I did have sleep apnea (29 events per hour). I started using a CPAP and I noticed the difference immediately. About a year after that, I started on a weight loss journey, not necessarily to get rid of sleep apnea, but just in general for myself. I'm 2 years into it and I've lost about 107 pounds so far. I stopped using my CPAP late last year (against medical advice) because it wasn't helping anymore. About 1-2 hours into my sleep, I'd be waking up and ripping the mask off because it was more disruptive than anything. I feel great and my sleep is good too without it now. For me, the weight loss worked to get rid of the CPAP, but the machine also worked wonders when I needed it.
I had a sleep study and was diagnosed with sleep apnea and got a cpap last month, but I’ve been struggling to wear it. I’ve been trying to find encouragement and tips for wearing the cpap because I know I need to wear it. I get terrible migraines and I think it’s partially due to the apnea. Baylee going through the sleep study and everyone in the comments encouraging her to get the cpap is very helpful to me. Thanks everyone I’m going to try again
for the itchiness of the sleeves - i have a relatively fitted cotton cardigan with huge patches of embroidery all up both sleeves (way bigger than what youd be doing) and i have lupus which makes my immune system attack my skin cells so my skin is SUPER irritable and the embroidery doesnt have a cover from what i can tell and i barely notice it! if its well done you won't get itchy :)
I've used a CPAP for years. It is definitely helpful with my quality of sleep. That's a big thing. After the first few weeks you get used to it. and then no big. Then you can start doing other items to help your lifestyle changes. It is a win win!
Maybe try the cpap machine which could improve your sleep and give you more energy during the day, whilst also improving lifestyle etc? The 2 may go hand in hand quite well. Good luck whatever you decide x
I was halfway through writing a similar comment when I saw yours. added to it, improving your lifestyle might be a whole lot easier if you're not tired all the time
Carbohydrates can cause lethargy in some folks. As can sugar. Someone mentioned this to me and I began to pay attention - on the days I would have a sandwich for lunch I would be yawning and no energy in the afternoon. Salad - no issue. So I went bread free for a week (I love bread so this was torture). Huge difference. When I cut out all sugars (lots of hidden sugars in all sorts of items) after about 7 days the brain fog lifted. For some folks sugar is an addiction without them even knowing it.
You need food to gain weight. Cpap gives you a more comfortable sleep but gaining weight by it... I dont think so... having more apnea during the night can... sawing a tennisball on the back of your nightdress could help too... ❤😊
To make it easier on yourself the first time, do 2 different designs on 2 different colors. Next shop update, choose a new element to add (new type of clothing or a new design or new colors based on experience, sales and customers feedback). Special requests will go more smoothly once you have a few shop updates under your belt. I love that you're branching out.
I know that it's difficult to accept the need for a cpap or any other kind of aid. Your thoughts about possibly trying to lose weight etc to help with your condition are in line with recommendations, but you'd have a much, much easier time achieving goals if you were well rested. Please don't shy away from the cpap if your doctor recommends it! It's a frustrating machine to learn to sleep with, but the incredible elevation in mood and energy levels after a good night's sleep are so, so worth it. As others have said, you may graduate out of needing it, so you don't need to commit forever. also, if it doesn't help, you can always ditch it and try something else, like the gimmicky sounding tongue exercise thingies. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do!
Get your sleep fixed first,so you have more energy to do the things you need to do. Maybe it’s exercise, maybe it’s food, you won’t know until you try. I was so scared of that cpap some 10 years ago, but now I don’t want to sleep without it. Losing weight is not my priority anymore, living a healthy and active life is, though. Karate, kickboxing, lifting wieghts, it all helps. All that would not be possible without high quality sleep. See what works for you, find out as you go. Good luck, Baylee Jae 🤗
I have been on cpap therapy for more than 25 years. It is amazing in how it changes your quality of life. Try different types of masks until you find your unicorn. Mine is the ResMed N20 Touch. Such amazing sleep.
I just had an in-office sleep study and I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea with an AHI of 34.9! I didn't have super obvious symptoms beforehand but was tested due to issues when I went under anesthesia. My best advice is if you do choose that route to actually use the CPAP! It has done wonders for my energy levels and I can totally tell the difference. I feel like I am truly resting and sleeping at night now. And with more energy, it makes the weight loss journey feel attainable now.
I have sleep apnea and lost about 40lbs and it hasn’t been an issue since. So I would definitely try that first. It took having the motivator of being diagnosed for me to finally stick with a routine of exercise and counting macros. I sleep totally fine now and don’t have episodes anymore.
I have tried everything to lose weight and finally became succcesfull by losing 40 pounds 18 months ago. I now use a small plate and consume about half to 2/3 of the amount I used to eat. I then assess if I feel satisfied without feeling too full. This actually works for me. I am amazed that I didn’t figure this out sooner.
I agree with other comments - definitely get the CPAP machine. It takes a bit of time to get use to it but it will literally change your life. You could also try a wedge pillow since you are a back sleeper. I also sleep on my back and that type of pillow helps along with the CPAP. Once I started using my machine, it really changed how sleepy I was during the day and it did ultimately help improve my mental health as well.
I would stick with chest design only at first. Especially having one machine. Adding sleeves will be very labor intensive even though the machine does the stitching, it’s more “hands on” hooping etc. For your mild apnea I would try some breathe strips and like you thought, work on being more active and try to sleep on your side. You could roll a towel and put it against your back to help deter rolling back onto your back. Kind of like you do with infants. You could also just try a cpap and see if you like it but definitely get your dr’s opinion.
My husband just got a CPAP and it has helped him immensely with energy and such. The biggest thing to get used to is the actual mask. He has the piece that goes into the nose. We also have a friend who has a CPAP and it helps him immensely. The great thing about CPAPs now is that they run pretty quietly, so noise shouldn’t be too much an issue, it’s just getting used to the equipment. I really recommend at least trying it and giving some time. It might just give you the quality sleep you need.
My mother has sleep apnea, had it for a while and from what I can remember it's pretty severe so take what I say with some poundage of salt but I wish she would get on the machine. it's a little heart breaking because you see how much it accumulates, for lack of a better way to put it, over time. I get the feeling her general living condition would benefit from a lack of stubbornness on her part and I say that with love. Again with it being mild I can't really say how much that applies to you but you're smart, and you know how to listen to your own body. Thats rough news no matter how you cut it but you got this. From our family to yours we're wishing you the best 💜
39:13 I always was a stomach sleeper, but can’t anymore as I have to sleep on a small incline due to to much fluid/pressure in my head (intracranial hypertension). Back never works for me, but since I have a body pillow (feeding pillow works as well) I can prop that up on my back and that way sleeping on my side isn’t a problem anymore. It prevents me from rolling to my back and gives some stability. Might be worth the try if you want to try and sleep more on your side.
My dad hated his CPAP at first, but he loves it now. Won't sleep without it. And it's amazing what we can get used to. Then, yes, the weight will help lower your reliance on it, but will be made easier by using the CPAP in the meantime. If you do go this route, my note of encouragement is that it's a long process, and it's okay to have bumps, just don't give up when they do happen. 💚
You asked for anecdotes, so here's mine. My grandfather has pretty severe sleep apnea, and the sounds of his snoring could be heard (and felt) throughout the house. He lost a bunch of weight, and it did nothing. The CPAP has helped him a lot, and getting better sleep has been great for his overall health. All of his children also have sleep apnea, regardless of body size and composition. Even my own father, who has always been thinner, has severe apnea. I think, on top of underestimating how important sleep is, people also underestimate how much genetics can play a role in your health. My own partner has severe sleep apnea and now uses a CPAP. His life has drastically improved. He has more energy, his mood is better, and I don't have to worry over him not breathing while sleeping anymore. Losing weight can help, but it's not the cure-all doctors want it to be. I would recommend seriously considering the CPAP. There are multiple masks and nose options to choose from, so it's more comfortable to wear, and the new machines are small and quiet. Trying out the machine, or even a mouth guard of some type, will at least give you more restful sleep and energy during the day, and thus make it easier for you to lose weight if that's what you want. I also like the idea others have had about a wedge pillow for slight elevation, and pregnancy pillows are also great. Or just another pillow along your back works, too. That's what I do, and it helps me sleep better. Hopefully this helps in some way. Everyone owes it to themselves to get better sleep.
I have sleep apnea and use a cpap. It totally makes a difference in my quality of sleep. Weight loss helps but is no guarantee and the night guard works for some but not all. Cpap works for everyone and cuts out other side effects from poor sleep. It takes a good while to get used to though. Good luck with your sleep decisions!
Just saw the first run on the pink one and I had an idea. Why not do like you always do with your other products? Have A and B grades depending on what the machine does while making a design. It seems to me it is impossible to get perfect results each time and honestly, the imperfections are not even that bad. 😊
I sure there are a bunch of folks that would buy the test sweaters too, so you can recoup the costs and they get an original as seen on RUclips baylee jae creation.
@@BayleeJaeGlad to hear it. I am by no means and expert but it looks like it might be hard to get the machine to produce at a certain quality level each time so for your piece of mind I think it's best to have the different grade levels. ❤
I love the sweater and hoodie ideas. I would absolutely simplify. You can always go bigger and grow, but seeing as this is the first round of sweaters. Offering the 2 sweater types is a great thing. Most to crewnecks, while I personally prefer hoodies. But different colors are also nice. I went to fashion school and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, that when I went too big because I was excited, I ran into trouble. So again, my personal opinion would be to simplify. PS. just wanted to say that I love your videos and they are a lot of fun to work alongside. LOVE you! ❤❤❤
This is not related to the video at all, but I was browsing Tiktok last night and it popped up that you liked my Tiktok of my Korok stud earrings and I had a bit of a fangirl moment haha. 😌 BACK TO THE VIDEO! Loving seeing all the work that goes into making the sweaters. 🥰
@@BayleeJaeIt was hehe! Thank youuu! If you'd like a pair hit me up, you actually got me into Zelda (BOTW) so it's only fair. 😌 Also ignore me commenting from my personal RUclips account first oops. 🫠
imo I think getting better sleep and weight loss both rely on eachother. Using a cpap to get a good rest and use that energy to work on being more active seems like a good plan. Either way, sleep is essential to your overall health. You can always try to get off the cpap when you are able to maintain long term lifestyle changes.
From experience having the machine makes a huge difference in energy and over all of how one feels during the day is so important to get a good night sleep also to what I have been told it is hard on ones heart when one has episodes ,so getting the machine would be good and then if you can work on health and cure it and go off it would be great as you said and is so may not cure it . Good luck and love the embroidery they are going to be so cute. 💖 I also Have a bed that is adjustable to a sleep mode and is so helpful and have made things better .
I had severe sleep apnea several years ago and tried to use the cpap machine to no avail. Tried every device from the mask for nose and mouth, to just nose. I think there were 5 different set ups. Anyway decided to just lose weight and my recent overnight test (head covered with sticky goop and the walk of shame in the morning) at the hospital showed no signs of apnea even though I did gain some weight back. I'm on Ozempic now as I am type 2 diabetic and this weight loss thing is crap! Started in May and not a pound has escaped me!! Loving your videos!!
I don't know if this will help you any but from what I've noticed from other creators, is to set up limited pre-orders. to just see what everyone is looking for. and maybe go from there?
I don't have any suggestions on the apnea, but when I had a shop I would just put my prints and sweatshirts together. I would put my prints in a cello bag (eco plant based) and them add a peice of thick chipboard to the back and put them both in poly mailer. The sweatshirts would be in a poly bag also.
I do embroidered work for my business, and I use the tear away paper in both white and black on the front where the embroidery goes. It stops the ghosting and it works great if you have an all black embroidery
Hi, I know this is 10 months too late but have you been to the doc for a full check up and full blood panels done? I was having a lot of the same symptoms - very tired, lethargic, brain fog, horrible sleep, dry skin, hair loss/thinning, eyebrow hair loss, impossible to lose weight, feeling cold (also savage depression) - and it turned out I was hypothyroid and had Hashimoto's Disease. I started looking into gut health, probiotics, cut out sugar and sweeteners, processed foods, most carbs, eventually went keto and oh my goodness the difference it made! I started to feel better within weeks. No meds, weight loss was easy, I had more energy and felt so much better. I don't do keto anymore but I intermittent fast and still keep my carbs fairly low. Other stuff like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, skin issues all cleared up and disappeared as well. I found your channel a couple of months ago and have been binge watching ever since. I hope by the time I've caught up to present day Baylee vlogs you'll have got to the bottom of it and feel much better! I'm so glad I found your channel, you are a lovely person and a bright spot in a truly awful period of my life. PS - Love it when Kiki and Midna make an appearance because we all know that they are the true stars of the vlogs haha!
As for knowing how many of which options you need, would letting people pre-order work? That way you know how many to make, and people have a realistic timeframe on when to receive their sweater. We all know you’re not a big company, with everything in stock at will. Also, the ghosting around the embroidery doesn’t bother me, it gives it an even more dimensional feel. Plus, I think when people start wearing and washing them, it’ll probably disappear. Oh, I noticed the slight pink hue on stream, but didn’t even think of it as much. The concealer did its job.
Baylee if you have prints in cardboard mailers, fold the sweaters around them then insert into the polymailers. This will stop the edges from poking the polymailers. As for the apnea, doing both weightloss with exercise and cpap is probably a good idea. Sleep apnea causes carbon dioxide build up in the blood - not to freak you out, but this is really dangerous if left untreated. I'm sure the doc has or will gone through the risks with you, but anyone else reading this - please talk to a professional if you're experiencing disrupted sleep or signs of sleep apnea. I had severe sleep apnea until I lost a bunch of weight (I ended up going down 3 dress sizes) - I was having micro sleeps, including at the wheel before I was diagnosed. I'm surprised I didn't kill someone. So please, get that cpap. The cpap will give you the energy and boost to make healthy changes to recover and improve your life style, hopefully curing your sleep apnea. You deserve to be healthy and happy. Of course listen to the medical advice, but you're always working your ass off and you deserve and need the time and care to recover and recuperate. Give it to yourself.
Try the CPAP. It’s not to crazy. They are really quite and the nose pillows and head sets are really comfortable compared to years ago. Nothing hurts to try it. If you try it and it helps then your rest will improve and you could get more motivation and energy to go for walks and such. Nothing hurts to try.
I have struggled with my sleep for over 20 years now… and I am 35. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for me I need to take sleeping pills to have a good night’s sleep. I don’t regret it. If you have any sort of mental health issue you’re probably gonna need help to fall asleep and keep sleeping. Anxiety will prevent you from having a relaxing sleep. Maybe also check with a shrink to see if you have any mental health problem. I am a bipolar with adhd. Heavy stuff. Lol. Best of luck, Bailey.
Lots of comments for this video! 1. Work on just the chest designs for now :) See how sales go for those and work from that. 2. The pink and sandstone sweaters turned out soo cute! 3. Maybe get a mini nightlight for your kitty in the basement when she is hiding? Poor girl. 4. Your "sooo I did something" hair reveal was super funny. It turned out well! 5. I just randomly thought it would be really fun if you made embroidered washcloths and hand towels! -1 size fits all sorta thing, and the Strawberries would be sooo cute in a kitchen or bathroom. 6. I'm glad your results are just mild I hope it all turns out well for you! Thanks for a great video as always. ^-^
I have sleep apnea, was having 80 episodes per hour!! Took me weeks to get used to CPAP machine but I like it now, sleep better, more energy, no more headaches, try it thru the day to get use to the stuff on you, also I use a nostal pillow, could not do full mask!
Suggestion: have two variants that is chest only or sleeve only. Personally I think having both on one sweatshirt is a lot. If you are not getting good sleep that can keep you from losing weight and even cause weight gain. The brain fog is definitely do to the sleep apnea. Some people are able to stop using the CPAP machine over time but I highly recommend it. You will be so surprised at the results and how good you feel after getting actual sleep.
hello hello! feeling the urge to remind everyone that eating well and exercising is healthy and good for you, but please don't measure your success in it with weight (or calories)! be mindful that those things are a slippery slope to feeling failure and self hate and try to just listen to your body. normal people who just exercise and focus on eating healthy aren't doing it for the same reason body builders and professional athletes are so feel free to disregard the numbers and focus on how you feel during and after exercise, when you eat balanced meals or how your sleep and energy levels are! how your body feels is actually impacting your life, weight and bmi do not indicate health as much as people say they do!
I am more than happy to pay over $100 for your sweaters. Seeing all the BTS, its obvious to me you put so much time and effort and I know I will receive something super high quality and carefully crafted.
FWIW I have not lost weight very often in my life, kind of always around the same number, which is still considered obese. However, maybe a year and a half ago I changed my diet so that most meals are 50% veggies (then 25% protein, 25% carbs). I am definitely not perfect and am thinking about an Impossible Whopper and fries for dinner, but I’ve also lost almost 20 lbs. It wasn’t dramatic and I honestly did not realize it until someone said something. I don’t exercise really, just walk places, but I am sure if I was less sedentary I’d lose even more. There is also Ozempic as an option (or a variant of it) which is an appetite suppressant and can help boost weight loss - I’m on metformin for diabetes which is very similar. (A friend of mine is on a generic Ozempic now for an over eating disorder.) Anyway, I know it’s like, yes wow, vegetables! But it really did work for me. I am a 39 year old women who should have figured this out by now. I wish you luck! I am confident you can do it!
I mentioned this a few times to a variety of people BUT. My dad has had a cpap machine for over 15 years and he loves it. His sleep improved so much and they make a variety of attachments to make it more comfortable to sleep with. I know it seems stupid and annoying to wear but it can be really life changing and improve your sleep so much. Maybe give it a go and see if it helps?
I have sleep apnea (I have a BMI below 18). I had a full sleep study in the lab over a decade ago. My apneas and hypopneas tend to happen during REM sleep so I have lots of symptoms, even though it's mild. I've got an appointment scheduled for a dental appliance. I decided to consider treatment after reading about associations between sleep apnea and dementia. It's not a definitive causal link but I'm going to try to stack the deck in my favor. It's eminently possible to be healthy (or unhealthy) at a range of body sizes. It's much less possible to be healthy if you aren't getting quality sleep and if you're not breathing properly for a chunk of every day.
My family unfortunately can relate to the sleep apnea and c-pap. My husband has worn his and has had it for over 20 years. Without it he could fall asleep standing up. His doctor said no matter how much weight he lost, he would always need the C-Pap unless he had an invasive risky surgery removing part of his tongue. C-pap it is! For me, I am overweight and stress and age has brought me sleep apnea. I cannot wear a c-pap I feel like I am suffocating. I have used nose strips and sleep on my side. (Loads of pillows) and always promise myself I’m going back to Keto. Probably not helpful, but I definitely feel what you’re going through and I hope you find what works best for you 😊
I think keep it simple. Multiple colours and just cheese will be a great start. I think add the sleeves in another drop when you’ve had time to test it. But don’t worry about testing it for now.
I have sleep apnea too and have the cpap. I just keep forgetting to use it when I take naps but I do use it nightly. Tip, only wash the hose, and mask with regular hand soap and water. Wipe down the machine with a wet cloth. Dont use cleaning products on it and on the machine. I have Phillips DreamStation and they had a recall on it a year and half ago and just recently I got my replacement. Other than that, I am pretty happy with my cpap machine.
My boyfriend was diagnosed with Mild Sleep apnea and pretty bad snoring, he had surgery for his deviated septum but it still continued, so he decided to try the mouth/ddental guard thing that moves his jaw forward and clears the airways and its really helped! First night he used it he barely snored on his back (like super light snoring) and did not snore at all on his side, and he was able to get really well rested sleep! He is also doin his fitness journey so he might not need it in the future, but it has been a good non-invasive solution for now! Inthe U.S (with pretty good health insurance) I belive the copay was around 1k. If you have any questions let me know and I can ask him for his opinion!
A little rambling about my experiences with sleepiness/tiredness: (Asthma, sleep study, anemia/deficiencies and internal clock/sleep rhythm) I guess my sleeping posture is the only positive thing about my asthma xD I can't breath well on my back, so I automatically turn on my left side (which is the best for me as the heart is not lying on the lungs and my breasts don't weigh down my lung as well I had a sleep study done as well, though I barely even slept. I got one single sleep cycle at home and maybe 4-5 in the clinic. So it was a bit hard, but my sleepiness and drained energy wasn't from my sleep. I had a few events, but they said it's mild enough that I don't need to do anything. In my case I additionally have a slight iron deficiency (I lost to much blood during periods, which is taken care of by now, so the only lowering factor left is me being vegetarian) and I somehow had a Vitamin D sufficiency last autumn, even though I was out and about. (I had 7 or 8. In summer you should have above 55 and in winter above 35) (As a kid/teen we were running around in search of what made me so tired all the time. I got so many tests done and in the end somehow mentioned that my iron levels were low - which was the cause probably all the time) Furthermore I had a job in the past were I worked at night and slept during day. I was way more rested back then. I found out my internal clock/sleep rhythm was to get sleepy between 4am and 6am. So I often couldn't sleep before 4am and had to wake up at 7am; or I forced myself to sleep earlier just to wake up multiple times. You can't change the time the society feels like normal, so forcing your internal clock to squeeze into the norm is draining as well Long talk short: I have issues with being sleepy all the time as well and the main causes seems to be deficiencies and wrong sleep rhythm. Maybe it could help you as well to have a look at your blood levels?
Everyone charges around £50-70 for embroidery apperal. Printed apperal usually is from £20-40. Dont feel bad pricing people charge handmade handbags for 200 plus charge your worth. Minimum wage x hours on the piece x materials x shipping cost. ❤❤🖤
way too many doctors rely on losing weight as a cure-all; skinny people also get sleep apnea. it's all about what works for you; i'd definitely suggest a cpap and maybe the tongue muscle stimulant and see if that helps?
Take the machine and still try and lose weight. Cause being able to sleep while remaining active helps with weight loss. Trying to lose the weight while taking on an exercise routine is an uphill battle. You need rest on top of exercise to lose weight. Also stop eating hours before you sleep. Make sure you get your 8 hours for recovery and for heart health. The eight hours allows our bodies to break down food easier and helps with muscle recovery for exercise. I have apnea and use a bipap machine. It's night and day difference on rest. Allowed me to be more active. Hey good idea vlog or live stream some walks. I was told the goal to reach is 5k a day for good weight loss. Anyway, thanks for all you share and for inspiring me back to doing art. Take care and Godbless.
I have a CPAP machine because of heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. I felt the same about having a CPAP machine, really really didn't want it and felt claustrophobic just thinking about a mask over my mouth and nose, like what if the power goes out? But once I got the machine, it was much smaller than I thought and the mask I have only covers my nose so it's not so suffocating feeling, but boy does it make a difference in how I sleep and my energy level. It can be a lil annoying at times but deff worth it. Even getting a machine to try out might give you more energy and umph to work out and then you can eventually get rid of it.
Try using a wedge pillow to prop yourself up at night. This has been a game changer for my husband. Without it, he snores and consistently chokes in his sleep. It’s an affordable option for now while we look into an adjustable bed.
Hi Baylee! I’m late to comment on this (just catching up on your vids ❤️) and I would say try the CPAP first. I was tested over 10 years ago and tried a CPAP but I just struggled with it so much. I didn’t try every mask or every humidity level or other settings, I just gave up. I have never really had a good nights sleep and I’ve been tired my whole life 😂 I had another sleep study done the other day (new state, new insurance so they required a new one) and they put a nasal pillow mask on me during the study and once I got over the initial discomfort and fell asleep, I stayed asleep for the 3 hours that were left of the study. They sent me home with that mask and I should be getting my CPAP sometime soon. It won’t solve all my problems, but it should at the very least help with getting better sleep which will help blood pressure, heart rate, weight loss, mental health, etc. so I’m hoping it kinda snowballs a healthy affect in the other areas of my life 😂
I work in embroidery on the wholesale side and we charge by quantity/stitch count plus the cost of the garment. Maybe you can think about charging less for smaller logos and more for larger ones instead of a flat $5 for each additional logo.
Definitely would try weight loss first. It likely will help your apnea but also energy levels, and obviously the overall quality of your life! Weight loss is mainly diet so I would focus on that first then hopefully you see a difference in energy levels and can be more active.
I have mild sleep apnea and I chose to get a cpap. My sleep is soooooo much better with the cpap. It's expensive but it's worth it. Look at the different types of masks. I have the one the just sits in the nostrils and doesn't cover half your face. it will take some getting used to but you'll sleep much better.
I have a similar body type to you, short and 40 lbs over weight. I've just started my own diet journey probably for the dozenth time. This time tho I'm giving myself a 10 lb weight loss reward to look forward to which is helping me stay motivated. I just calorie count and preplan full days food. I don't drink my calories. And try to do high protein low carb/sugar. A chocolate protein shake, almond milk and crushed ice, first thing in the morning keeps me full and really curbs the cravings. I was addicted to fast food and sweets. Always thinking about my next meal. Now it's not so bad. Plus that shots expensive which also helps avoid it hahA
Try putting Water Soluble Stabilizer on the top, the thin plastic looking kind, not the woven looking one... Sulky has a good one.. it will float your stitching on top so it doesn't sink into the fabric. Also, when you digitize the design, try putting a travel stitch around the outer edges to give it a more finished look.
My dad uses the mouthguard that pushes his jaw forward. It works pretty well for him, and its not too extreme of an option. He has pretty bad apnea. He used to take the cpap machine off in his sleep.
If you do the weight loss thing, you could do a kinda sorta challenge with your followers or members. I'm sure a lot of us would love to cheer you and each other on!
I don't have sleep apnea but I'm bettering myself everyday to take care of my health. I read "Atomic Habits" and "Glucose Revolution" and it really helped me set small simple habits that have a great impact on my health. Quite honestly, I'm not shedding pounds like when I did keto + a ton of exercise, the progress is slowe, but I'm happier and mentally doing much better, because I'm not trying to just lose weight anymore. I started really small too. The first thing was a few minutes of stretching when waking up. Nothing grand, just head to toe, and it made me feel so much better already ! Very simple small things to change the big picture ! Good luck ❤
I have same Category sleep apnea as you! You have to do something because sleep apnea is the major cause of hearth diseases!!! You need something until you loose some weight if you go that route. In Sweden they recommend the dental guard in these cases but on other side I need cpap which I really don’t want.
Moving towards a healthier lifestyle is significantly easier when youre not exhausted. Theres nothing wrong with trying a CPAP machine and seeing if it does improve your sleep and see if you feel better and more motivated to try and be healthier. Sleep disturbances also do just happen with age so it might not even be weight related
Loving the embroidery! My AHI score was 145 in my tests (just a bit severe haha).... cpap has changed my life but it hasnt been easy. I was literately a walking zombie before.
I agree that it’s pretty ambitious to do so many options with the sweater types, designs, and colors right off the bat. Especially if they end up taking 30 minutes minimum just after it gets set up on the machine just for a chest piece). That’d be so much time and labor. It’s totally understandable for you to limit the options by a lot! Either that or charge way more girl!
i had a sweater with embroidered sleeves and i just couldn’t get past the itchiness to ever wear it. maybe that’s just my sensory issues but like you said it could still be something to think about. (the strawberry design is so freaking cute btw!!)
You can't always help apnea with weight loss, and weight loss isn't quick or easy/necessarily healthy to maintain. I'd recommend a side pillow and trying a machine if you can. There are different types of cpap too
Well, I think the weight loss thing is definitely worth a try and you would probably benefit from that in more ways than just better quality of sleep (I'm currently on a weight loss journey myself... have lost about 44 pounds so far and plan on losing another 40). I'm wondering now, if I may have something along those lines, too... because my concentration sucks sometimes and I always feel tired, even when I wake up by myself... might be worth looking into. I hope you'll find a way to fix your problem and feel better rested after sleeping :)
I have severe apnea...over 50 per hour (not exaggerating) There are some newer options that might suit mild cases better, that don't require a machine. Ask about your options, but keep in mind that machines rake in the $$$! Don't let yourself be pushed into purchasing something that takes a bit of time to acclimate too.
With the embroidering you could even switch up the type you want to make with launches. Make just chest ones and then another launch make sleeve ones. But don't overwhelm yourself ^^
I have a cpap. I cant wear it at certian times because of my other health conditions. But they also say you can wear it during the day while doing small stuff. Like laying in bed reading. It does help open your lungs up
I have a mild case of sleep apnea and I went with the machine and they only prescribed me to wear it for 4 hours a night. Longer is better. They can tell how long you have been wearing it because the machine that I have has a sd card that I send off and they can tell if o have been using it for the periods that I am supposed to. It’s not bad it took me some time to get used to it and not it’s just something that I do every night. They have different masks you can pick from
I loooove my cpap. Truly a lifesaver; highly recommend getting a cpap as well as trying to lose weight bc it’s so hard to be active when ur soooo exhausted from my experience; my cpap helps me not nap every single day and I 10/10 recommend. at first it’s annoying to be tied to it but it’s so worth it and now when I put it on my body is trained to fall asleep 😭😂
Mayve for the print in polymailer questions, mail some test bags with product in to friends in Vancouver and then ask them to mail them back to you and see how things are
No experience with sleep apnea, but healthy weight loss takes a while and it really sounded like you were desperate for sleep when you signed up for the sleep study. Sounds like it might be a good idea to get a quick fix like cpap, and then try more long term solutions over time.
it's okay to start with just chest or just a couple designs. This is your very first time making these items. Don't overwhelm yourself for our benefit. we will love whatever you put out
Yep I agree. "keep it simple stupid" 😁
As someone who uses a CPAP, I agree
Help sleeping better makes it easier to be active too
Agree agree!!
Is a good sleeper and wears earplugs so it should be just fine
That in combination with losing weight and a healthier lifestyle it should do the trick...
Thank you! It's nice to hear how it worked for you, especially since our stats were similar. My tongue is also big with scalloped edges. 😩
I feel like simpler is better, fewer sweater types and fewer design options. It's your first run so it can help give you an idea of how it can go.
for the itchiness of the sleeves - i have a relatively fitted cotton cardigan with huge patches of embroidery all up both sleeves (way bigger than what youd be doing) and i have lupus which makes my immune system attack my skin cells so my skin is SUPER irritable and the embroidery doesnt have a cover from what i can tell and i barely notice it! if its well done you won't get itchy :)
Dang Baylee, the embroidery machine co needs to sponsor you with all this detailed info you are putting out! The strawberries are adorable. 🍓🍓🍓
I was halfway through writing a similar comment when I saw yours. added to it, improving your lifestyle might be a whole lot easier if you're not tired all the time
Thirding this. Cpap doesn't need to be forever. If you have more energy during day because of it then easier to exercise and plan meals
Apnea can also cause weight gain, so getting a cpap could really aid weight loss too.
I didn’t know this! My doctor never said this
@@alicebrianna7835 it´s a chain of events. That's why we need to understand how our body works.
You need food to gain weight. Cpap gives you a more comfortable sleep but gaining weight by it... I dont think so... having more apnea during the night can... sawing a tennisball on the back of your nightdress could help too... ❤😊
@@annnoyezNot getting enough sleep often results in cravings for sweets or junk food, I'm guessing that's what she meant
@@RamoArt true also...
I am amazed that I didn’t figure this out sooner.
aaa the strawberry sweaters look so gooood!! can’t wait to get my hands on one ❤❤
Thank you!
I will definitely have B grades, either due to the stitch out, or defects in the sweater blanks.
The ransom spikes correlate to your body responding to the incident, and essentially jolting you awake to breathe!
BACK TO THE VIDEO! Loving seeing all the work that goes into making the sweaters. 🥰
Omg that was you?! The korok earrings are so cute!
@@BayleeJaeIt was hehe! Thank youuu! If you'd like a pair hit me up, you actually got me into Zelda (BOTW) so it's only fair. 😌
Also ignore me commenting from my personal RUclips account first oops. 🫠
imo I think getting better sleep and weight loss both rely on eachother.
The lil bee had me crying! I love bees at an unhealthy amount lmao
PS - Love it when Kiki and Midna make an appearance because we all know that they are the true stars of the vlogs haha!
sleep apnea can make it harder to lose weight, so its worth getting the cpap
You could limit that if you buy a sweater you can’t buy anything else in the same order (unless it’s another sweater) so it’s easier to ship.
Start simple and grow as you can. Only makes good business sense.
Hi Baylee, just as a tip you can use micellar water to remove the dye stains on your skin. It works magic for me 😊
Lots of comments for this video!
Omg I’m living for that frog and bee!!
hello hello! feeling the urge to remind everyone that eating well and exercising is healthy and good for you, but please don't measure your success in it with weight (or calories)!
be mindful that those things are a slippery slope to feeling failure and self hate and try to just listen to your body. normal people who just exercise and focus on eating healthy aren't doing it for the same reason body builders and professional athletes are so feel free to disregard the numbers and focus on how you feel during and after exercise, when you eat balanced meals or how your sleep and energy levels are! how your body feels is actually impacting your life, weight and bmi do not indicate health as much as people say they do!
I am more than happy to pay over $100 for your sweaters. Seeing all the BTS, its obvious to me you put so much time and effort and I know I will receive something super high quality and carefully crafted.
Noooo that's too much! 😆
(A friend of mine is on a generic Ozempic now for an over eating disorder.)
Anyway, I know it’s like, yes wow, vegetables!
Other than that, I am pretty happy with my cpap machine.
it would look nice in white and black hoodies. the embroidery design! and maybe beanies??
I love the designs, I think the green would be my favorite! XD
A little rambling about my experiences with sleepiness/tiredness:
(Asthma, sleep study, anemia/deficiencies and internal clock/sleep rhythm)
I guess my sleeping posture is the only positive thing about my asthma xD
I can't breath well on my back, so I automatically turn on my left side (which is the best for me as the heart is not lying on the lungs and my breasts don't weigh down my lung as well
I had a sleep study done as well, though I barely even slept.
In summer you should have above 55 and in winter above 35)
(As a kid/teen we were running around in search of what made me so tired all the time. I got so many tests done and in the end somehow mentioned that my iron levels were low - which was the cause probably all the time)
Furthermore I had a job in the past were I worked at night and slept during day. I was way more rested back then. I found out my internal clock/sleep rhythm was to get sleepy between 4am and 6am. So I often couldn't sleep before 4am and had to wake up at 7am; or I forced myself to sleep earlier just to wake up multiple times. You can't change the time the society feels like normal, so forcing your internal clock to squeeze into the norm is draining as well
Long talk short: I have issues with being sleepy all the time as well and the main causes seems to be deficiencies and wrong sleep rhythm.
I took MCT oil for brain fog & it really helped me. The MCT oil I took said 3 capsules in the morning - I will warn you, they are large capsules.
way too many doctors rely on losing weight as a cure-all; skinny people also get sleep apnea. it's all about what works for you; i'd definitely suggest a cpap and maybe the tongue muscle stimulant and see if that helps?
Did you ever consider buying lengths of sweatshirt fabric to practice on instead of using up the shirts up?
I have never really had a good nights sleep and I’ve been tired my whole life 😂
I had another sleep study done the other day (new state, new insurance so they required a new one) and they put a nasal pillow mask on me during the study and once I got over the initial discomfort and fell asleep, I stayed asleep for the 3 hours that were left of the study.
Either that or charge way more girl!
the splat is crazy!!! it’s carpet dye 😭😭😭 but so excited for the sweaters
Wow this is the earliest I ever got to a video, hello how is everyone 😂
i had a sweater with embroidered sleeves and i just couldn’t get past the itchiness to ever wear it. maybe that’s just my sensory issues but like you said it could still be something to think about. (the strawberry design is so freaking cute btw!!)
You're wearing a Coconu Techa, Small Business, Big dreams sweater.
So cool we watch the same vlogs, she's based not far from me in south Wales 🥰
The strawberries would look pretty on a black sweater
