    Based on your video, I can see why I would never attempt to install a dishwasher. In fact, we purchased our new dishwasher from one of the "clubs" and the price included delivery, installation, and haul away. But I would have paid extra for sure.

      I have not installed one in like 5 years, but this has way too many little things that drove me crazy! The price for quality ratio is changed dramatically in these things as well.

    I think the high cost of parts is by design. They WANT you to purchase a new unit and not fix the old one. It's not just dish washers, it is all appliances. For a while I thought I needed the detergent dispenser on my Whirlpool dishwasher and it was $100. Luckily I was able to get mine working by giving it a good cleaning. Also on my refrigerator there is a small plastic drip tray under the water dispenser. It can't be more than 9-inches by 2-inches. $30 for a replacement. A replacement plastic burner knob for my gas stove... $45!! Yes, plastic.

    Great information and install Brian. I have changed out two of them in my lifetime and they are a pain in the back side I am 66 and in a couple of months I will be 67 and I will not be getting down in the floor and wrestling with one anymore 😂

      Yeah don’t do it Britt! I was sore for days. This was one of the hardest installs I’ve done. Maybe because I did not want to do it. 😂 but for the price I would have expected a bit better quality. It all seemed pretty flimsy. Hope you have a great weekend. I will be doing a live stream next week! Please join!

    Brian I don’t know if you know this or not but channel lock has a pair of pliers made to install and uninstall the band clamps like the one on that dishwasher

    I see you replaced an LG (Largely Garbage in my opinion) with a US brand unit. I have heard so many horror stories about the Korean brands of appliances (LG and Samsung), particularly their washing machines, dryers and refrigerators, that I would never consider purchasing one. Spare parts are often made of Unobtanium. My neighbor had to wait 12 weeks for a warranty replacement of a refrigerator compressor. Imagine living out of your Coleman cooler for 12 weeks while you wait for your refrigerator to be repaired. Unacceptable.

    that matt under the sink looks nice. i put a piece of old Formica countertop at bottom of sink cabinet to prevent spills and caulked it all around. but my cabinet is custom made by last owner so i doubt they have one of those mats you have do they make a large one for under bathroom wide long vanity?

      @ThatFixItGuy  7 месяцев назад

      I don’t know exactly how long they make them. It would be nice to get them in any measurement.

    yeah, everything is crazy for parts nowadays I replaced a small fresh air blower to combustion chamber in my Weil McLain boiler but they put circuit board and everything in it so it was 700 dollars for a cantaloupe sized blower fan wish I never got a high efficiency boiler. virtually every kitchen appliance has worn out a circuit board for about a 100 each time it's all Chinese garbage anymore.

      Yeah it blew my mind how spendy it all has became.

    too cheap here to pay someone to do anything that I can do myself if I do it, I know it was done right and where future problems will be. you might want to break off the extra metal tab on the straps where you screwed it in so wife does not cut herself reaching in then you will be in trouble LOL

    • @ThatFixItGuy

      😂 I would be in trouble. I agree with your thoughts on the install, but I would have been happy with watching someone else do it.
