  • This model is also an exact copy of a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator; even the parts for them match each other. For the best and easier repair, preferably the compressor has to be removed before doing any repairs. In order to perform a sealed system repair involving freon R134a or R12, Freon must be recovered. The filter dryer must be replaced with any sealed system repairs. We repair and fix Viking appliances in the Austin area. Hi, which compressor do you use to pump, recovery etc?

I had an older compressor which was removed from a fridge, so I don't have the part number. but make sure the compressor you use for pumping purposes, only will be used for the rest of its life. you cannot install that compressor on any other fridges. Compressors like the cheapest Frigidaire probably will be the best. They are all made by Embraco. A lighter weight is better. I know a tech, who uses the smallest compressor from mini-fridges. It just takes longer to pump. So my advise, get a regular fridge, but not too old a compressor. The suction is better in newer ones
