I have visited the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen with my Granddad back in 2018 or 2019 and it was really interesting for me.
They had a full Exhibition about the Development and History of this Aircraft, including the plans for the Do 231C and Do 231M Versions.
And they also had 2 of the 3 that were ever build, there at the time, before they sent the E3 back to the DMFW in Oberschleissheim near Munich.

I have the same issues on landing/hovering - I think it's due to the weird copilot behaviour, as you reduce thrust it automatically pushes nozzles back (can see this happening on your gauge) which means it always gains forward speed... Hope they can fix this
Eisernes Kreuz: aye-zer-ness kroits (stress on "aye" and "kroits")
Balkenkreuz: "ball-ken kroits" (stress only on "ball") 😊😊😊
Friedrichshafen: you basically got it right, stress is on "frie" and "haf". Means "Frederick's Harbour" ...lol
Zeppelin: (that was the name of the inventor, Count Zeppelin: "tsepp-e--leen" (stress on "leen)
But really, you're doing great...!!!

Oooo look it's an osprey 😂. Jk jk, grandpa osprey looks dope. I don't know that it's going into my hangar but it's definitely going into my heart for quirky crafts. I do wish they had a trial of it just to see if it's something I actually would love to fly but it's cool to see all the same.

More like 'The Flying Norwhal"... ha ha ha. When I think 'famous flyer' I think of something that actually had more production build than three aircraft; something which saw years of service; and something that more than a small handful of people had ever heard of prior to people announcing it like this. I'd had been quite happy with just about any other type of Dornier aircraft. This just looks fun for about three, maybe four, flights before getting bored of it. I'll be passing on this one.

I like this , it's very unusual . Thank you for the great review . Sad that woke politics should come into the simulator world , seems not only the ST Georges cross is frowned on by some but so is the German Cross . What have they got against crosses ?

@@AvAngel You say that but in IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles , the German historical markings are blurred out , specially the swastika .....it is historical we all know history . And just because we play computer games don't mean we support it . I believe we should never forget History and should learn from it , this kind of censorship stops that . Anyway AvAngel sorry to bring politics to your channel , love you channel and video's . Promise not to bring this subject up again . Still a Great video though 🙂 . Thank You
I can only find actual photos of this aircraft in a bare metallic livery. The aircraft never entered service so I don’t think this livery was ever worn on an actual Do 31. Maybe inibuilds based this livery on concept art without the crosses? Chalking it up to ‘woke politics’ seems a mental leap though
@@zeberdee1972 are you aware of the fact that displaying the swastika is illegal in some countries, and has been so for DECADES, long before there was any Microsoft Flight Simulator or any other, long before there were even personal computers, and if 1972 is the year you were born, LONG before you were born.
While Swastikas (some call it Wollhandkrabbe, jokingly) are basically banned for being anticonstitutional symbols and only recently have been allowed to use in games due to artistic and documentary nature (but still not being displayed since they're banned in some other countries as well), the Balkenkreuz or the crosses of the post-war Luftwaffe never were problematic. I guess they just simply left them out for some reason.
