- My friend Frank Deserto (Post-Punk.com, Systems of Romance Blog, The Harrow) and I are back with Part 2 in our Psychedelic Furs Ranking Series. In this video we'll each be selecting and ranking our 25 favorite Psychedelic Furs songs. We are also including Richard Butler side projects and solo work, i.e. Love Spit Love, solo album, etc.

Correction: In reference to Richard Butler's solo album, I mentioned that Richard Butler was going through a divorce while making the album. I meant to say that both Jon Carin and Butler both lost their fathers during the process of this album. There is a dedication in the CD booklet for both of their fathers.

Having seen your video on Richard's solo album in the past, I predicted Good Days Bad Days would be at number one. You definitely turned me on to that gem. I actually found the solo album on CD years ago in a bargain bin for 2 Australian dollars, which I guess would be just over $1 US! Now that was a good find!
Wow! What a find on the solo album. I don't recall ever seeing another copy since I found mine when it came out. Just had a look on Discogs and they are not cheap! If we would've included it in the album ranking, it would've been a tough battle for the #1 spot between RS and Mirror Moves. I think the solo album would be #1. Thanks for watching, Matt!

Enjoying the ranking, I have to keep stopping to check my collection! Just put my signed print from the made of rain splatter vinyl and tickets from Bristol (UK) in a nice frame for my music room, they were just tucked in the sleeve, now they are out on show.

From about 17/18 and up I'm loving your picks. Don't know some of the b sides mentioned. Must investigate. And it was a 29 year break from World Outside to Made of Rain which is mind blowing really. And even though I agree Pretty in Pink on the album is better than in the film, I'm probably the only person that can't stand the song lol! And i looove In My Head "shake the dust out of your shoes".
I'm kind of surprised neither of you gents chose this gem....my Psychedelic Furs mix tape would have to include 'Love Spit Love -How Soon Is Now?' that cover of The Smiths from The Craft Soundtrack. Obviously not thier song but it is perfection and in my opinion, better than The Smiths!

The only Psychadelic Furs song I know is “If You Leave” from the 1986 movie ‘Pretty In Pink’.
Hi Ian, "If You Leave" is a great song, but that was from the band OMD. The Furs wrote the title track "Pretty in Pink."

for me as a masssive fan it is India, All Of This And Nothing or House. All that money wants was my introduction to them in 88. Introduced all my friends to them. I didn't like the new album at all. How the furs were virtually ignored in this their home country was criminal, John Ashton one of my early guitar inpirations is currently fighting cancer
