I just bought the newest version of the Fisher Paykel Double DishDrawer dishwasher so I'll let you know how it goes. Right off the versatility of the loading aspects for various types of dishware is great! I can fit Vietri dishware in the larger drawer very securely. All of the Vietri dishware has a secure spot. The ability to run separate drawers is also a great plus. There is even an option for a WiFi connection to remotely start the dishwasher drawers.
Honestly I would love to have it
What are your thoughts on home made dishwasher soap(washing soda, baking soda, citric acid, salt) are some of the ingredients I've seen..
I have had two so far bc I have a tiny kitchen in which you can’t open the door of a traditional dishwasher or it hits the stove. Not a fan by any means. Thankfully I purchased the extended warranty on both because they need constant repair.
I have heard that if you install this yourself, even if you follow the instructions to the letter you will void the warranty because it specifically states in the installation manual that it requires a certified F&P technician.
Weve had our double drawer Fisher n Paykel dishwasher for years.. I'd say at least 15 years.
I only use "Finish" dishwasher powder , i tried a different brand once and it was so soapy the dishwasher kept flashing
Do not use tablets either .
I do like our old version of this dishwasher though as each drawer has its own digital panel .
Now the new ones have only one digital panel for both dishwashers.
I own one of these and if your thinking about buying one DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. It's constantly break down, not cleaning the dishes, and requirements constant maintenance. Having this dishwasher is worse then NOT HAVING ONE AT ALL!!!!
Bless you for warning us!
Liar, liar, pants on fire!
Who's a liar? The video photographer or the comment poster ?@@yevt
I have one and found If it's not cleaning the dishes, it could be that the washer arm is being blocked from spinning. If it can't spin freely it won't clean properly. Not much room between the rack and the washer arm, so if some dishes are hanging through the rack it could be hitting them and not spinning.
Repair costs are expensive and bugs(cockroaches) love the electronics which aren't shielded from moisture or insects is a problem. I've had to replace 3 computers at my expense because of cockroaches while under warranty too!
Inherited ours. Not Installed properly. From Klumps. 4 kids dogs parents in house. It has run like a champ 2 years.
But if you have ever owned a big box dishwasher from 80s 70s 90s. You will hate this thing.
I don't see the point of this. It would be more efficient, less expensive, less hassle, and easier on the environment to simply run a regular dishwasher once a day whether it's full or not. I'm thinking of manufacturing and repair costs, etc.
Thanks for sharing your concerns! It's definitely not for everyone, but we still think it's a pretty neat design!
I have one and absolutely love it. However, I have a problem that my wife hates it because it does not get the dishes dry. In fact, they are soaked. Is it supposed to run like this?
I would argue it's more eco-friendly efficient to run a drawer. For the drawers, water + energy consumption (per drawer) is considerably less than a regular dishwasher & we get to max out the capacity every time for every load. As opposed to a full dishwasher at half capacity. And each drawer can run with different cycles so light soil dishes don't get a heavy wash just because one dish is dirty.
Edit: I missed the repair costs thing... not sure about that.
I like that you don’t have to bend over to reach things on a bottom shelf or a regular dishwasher. That’s a big advantage.
To run full size dishwasher with just a bit plates in it - it is very wasteful. A dishwasher should be run when it is full if you consider about energy and water expenses. To make a full-size dishwasher full, for 2 people is a long time.
They had me until ‘more difficult to fix’
We recently purchased a house with all new FP products in the kitchen. We got rid of all of it and replaced with Miele which is a far superior product, lasts longer and has a great customer support unlike FP.
Am I the only dumb ass that's here trying to figure out how to put the soap pack in. Still got no idea 😅
Like all dishwashers no it's not installed because two goofy delivery guys drop it off and a dopey carpenter like me hooks it up. And yes I have worked on helicopters. Cars. Machinery. Plants. Construction. Electrical. Plumbing.
I GUESS YOU CANNOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER 🤷 CAN YOU USE BOTH DRAWERS AT SAME TIME?
IF it clogs up. Motor makes louder noises trying to suck water. Take everything out clean junk from filters.
116 minutes on normal so 232 minutes if you cannot run at same time. WTF.
Run mine on 53 mins and super clean
Before they sold brand to Hair, they are above average quality. Don't buy it now.
The stupidest thing ever. Two years in still don't know how it works or how to use with drawers at same time.
