Just did this replacement on my Bosch HBL5720UC/08 wall oven + microwave built in unit. Very helpful video. One tip: when you're ready to put the new element in, push the insulation up and out of the way, use a flashlight to look in, and identify the little clips inside where the element goes. I had to use a yardstick to push the small cross-member front wire on the element up and over the clip in the middle in order to install it. Wiggling as you suggested didn't work for me -- it was definitely impeded by something -- so I cleared the insulation out of the way so I could see what was in the way.

My lower element (HIIP055U) was behind a vertical piece of sheet metal that wrapped down below the oven and ran all the way to the front in one continuous piece. After looking for alternatives, I finally decided I simply had to bend that piece down out of the way, after noticing that there were two slots in it that were elongated above the element terminals such that when you bend it down, they would clear those terminals. Then as you say, I could wiggle it out. Bending it back wasn't as horrible as I expected, and it actually looks untouched once I replaced the original screws.

hello I have just replaced the element on my oven.. it is normal for new parts to emit a strange plastic smell isn't it? Just for the first few uses.

      Good question,
Yes they do. Just good to open up the windows and leave it on high for 30 minutes.
