Great video! I would like to see a video on whoa or heel training. Also, maybe something to try and keep the dog at a closer distancing while hunting in a field.

+James Marshall I have a good method for keeping a dog closer as well as ranging right to left. I will post it in the coming weeks

Hey Westin, it’s my first time training a dog to hunt. I have a 7 month old GSP. Been training him to use his nose with scent drags and he’s doing really well. I’m also trying to teach him to release the pheasant dummy after throwing it. All and all I think he’s doing really well for the 2 1/2 months I have been training. I’m going to start to get him to sit and stay now next. I would be interested in any tips and tricks on teach them to Heal. Is there’s anything else you could think of that would be good to teach him, gladly appreciate any input or videos.

I have a lab/pit mix who is crazy for birds. He's super sharp and has potential, however he is super stubborn. He will stay unless he sees something else he wants, how would you recommend training stay with distractions?

I have a Australian Shepherd border collie mix that I want to train to be a bird dog. I have been doing scent drags and she seems to do will. Do you know a place that is good for beginner dogs I live I Bend oregon.

What type of bird hunting? Australian Shephards are typicallyused as a herding dog. I would be interested to know how he does!
