Rewatching "Parks & Recreation" recently, and there is an episode where the gang goes to a winery. Ron is offered blueberry wine, which is very blue, and he says, "I don't drink from that portion of the color spectrum."

I would like to see a blind where you taste a cocktail that should be stirred is shaken and you see if you can detect the difference. Same for a shaken cocktail that is stirred.

*ahem* Don't assume fans of Star Trek are lightweights when it comes to drinking. The website says the vodka is 80 proof. I wonder how well they would mix. If you made a vodka tonic, would there be any noticeable difference?
I don’t think the fans are lightweights I’m sure there are tons of fans who know a lot about spirits etc but I do think the companies exploit the fans sourcing crap spirits to color blue and spend all their budget on the bottle and know fans will buy it

By the sound of it the Star Trek Spirits Romulan Ale Rye is an MGP 95% Straight Rye Whisky so perhaps Bulleit or another MGP Rye would have been a better comparison. I bet any cheap vodka made in the US will be from MGP just the same.
I actually have a bottle of the MGP 95% rye sourced when I was creating my bottled cocktail, and that romulan rye wasn’t it for sure
