The vegetal notes in the Rivers really shine in a classic daiquiri. All of the umami ester notes on the nose disappear.

Yes! I just recently got to try both Rivers and a couple Renegade expressions. It's really amazing the diversity of flavors you can get from just fermented distilled cane juice.
One that really blew my mind was Clairin Pignon. I don't know if you've tried it, but it's VERY olive briney, which is something I've never experienced in a rum.

@@alexandernordstrom1617 I tried it both straight and in Ti-punch. The smell reminds me of pear eaux de vie (I actually compared them both side by side). The flavor is pear dominant (70%) and with fresh vegetal grassiness (25%), with hints of some kind of tropical fruit (5%). It feels really clean overall and has a long finish. It's intense and loud like "Rum Fire". Definitely worth it.
      Hope it helps :)

Delighted to see this kind of video. Even more delighted that it leads off with Grenadian cane juice rums. I had the River Antoine (a mid blowing introduction to terroir/cane juice) when I visited the island and even had a chance to walk around the distillery, though things were extremely distanced last May.
Unfortunately, Colorado is so locked up by a couple of the large distributors, and so looked down upon by interesting and distinctive rum producers, that stuff like this never gets here. And having stuff like his shipped in? FUHGEDDABOUDID👿
Looking forward to more reviews (maybe some other cane juice rums, or Copali, which tells a great sustainability story).
In my view, mixology is not necessary on this channel (you can always link to Educated Barfly videos).
