🤣 😂 bruh!!!! Let’s show the one that you were beating on for about 20 minutes with that SDS (sweet drill btw) good show uncle Ted 🫡 I had 2 motors on a Trane today (one condenser one blower) and didn’t use puller!! You’d have been proud, damn near being a tear to your eye I tell you what lol. Like I said 9/10 times I don’t need it!! That was hilarious, appreciate you All love and respect my man!! I will only concede IF I get to use the SDS at ALL times, love some Milwaukee, if that counts as a puller then I’m in 🤣
My dad was like you Ted, he could do just about anything in his vast field of knowledge and mechanical abilities, and he did it well. One of the things he taught me many years back, you could give 5 capable experienced men the exact same 5 jobs. Every one of those men will perform that job a little differently but come to the correct finish. That does not necessarily make any of them wrong. A good tech is always open to learning new methods. I’m almost 66 now, I never stop learning. Thank you for the knowledge I have gained from a couple years of watching you work.
👍Yes sir, gettin it done. I’ve had some rough ones myself. Remove set screw, Kroil on hand … they didn’t put up much of a fight. Wish I would’ve had that “hammer” back in the day!
Pullers can work.... But thewy aren't the ONLY method. Just look at broken bolt removal on an engine. Reverse threaded drill bits, tapered bolt extractors, easy outs, best method I found is a welder and a bag of nuts / bolts. Lots of options, each have their preferences. When it comes to removing a straight shaft from a non-threaded hole never knock the utility of an SDS drill in hammer mode.
The double set screw ones are generally easier. theres less surface area on shaft . Pullers do suck . iv'e done industrial maint. for over 35 years and i can tell you without a doubt the Air hammer/Hammer drill approach is the way
Nice Ted. I had a puller (still have it) that only failed to work once back when I was in the biz. Never would have thought of the hammer drill. I wonder if my little Milwaukee drill on the hammer setting would work.
@@TedCookHVAC Glad you asked! ASMR stands for "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response." It typically refers to the "tingly feeling" that travels from the head downward that some experience in response to certain sounds, feelings, or descriptions. In the case of your videos - I don't know what it is - your voice, the way you lay out your experience, your view of life, maybe all combined, but you really make it a very relaxing, informative and pleasant experience even for people who are not hvac techs. E.g. my kids watch your vids - 8 and 6 yo boys and I don't know what you do but you get them glued to the TV better than cartoons. Stay awesome Ted, don't ever change :)
I'm not buying that! You rigged the test. You got it apart then put it back together again, then tuned on the camera! I don't use a puller and your technique is valid but something that rusty doesn't come apart that fast the first time. I call bullshit!
Gravity can't be beat but it helps only concern for me is what does he do if motor is good but fan blade braces are cracked and that method won't work by using blades to support fan
So you would rather take that heavier drill then the puller that takes up 1/3 the space as the puller give me the puller dont care if it 50 seconds or 5 minutes takes up less room and a lot cheaper

Lmao. I’ve been watching his videos for a while now. I bet he’ll get a kick out of this.
I'm not going to lie ...ima have to get one of Ted's 500 dollar puller 🤣....good fun guys keep up the shenanigans 😂
You dont need a blade puller when you have a motor pusher.

When we have bad ones like that. we have a machine shop friend that has a big arbor press haven't seen one it wouldn't press out yet
LMAO!!!🤣🤣🤣 That was awesome, gotta get one!
your puller is universal even

The motor is shot cut off shaft with Sawzall use pipe nipple to drive shaft out
Love your videos and am extremely jealous of the AWSOME car collection you have.
I declare Ted Cook the winner!!!!
Its very hard to beat a hammer bit, electric or compressed air. They do work wonders
😎👍
Don't mess with Ted...he's the man. Thxs for the vids!
looks like Ted is the clear winner here. Your move Krass.
😂 5 seconds Krauss, beat that! 😅
Haha nice video. Keep playin with your little pullers
That was some good old s-t talking to me.
UNCLE TED FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💪
💪
💪
💪
Good video ! Wow,never seen that one before & I been doing this 43 years. That worked Good. Nice trick !!!
👍👍👍for the win

😂😂👍👍👍
That was great!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that was funny
hhaahaaha🤣
9 seconds from start to when the motor hit the floor 🤣 🤣
I’m sixty eight years old Theodore , my puller weighs a lot less than that impact drill. I’m sticking with my puller. Nice work though.👍🇨🇦
No thanks I've watch his channel, I don't find young old hippies interesting. Time has moved on
One and 1/4 seconds from when you pulled the trigger and the motor fell away.
When they are rusted like that its easier to put new blades on the replacement motor. The cost is only 30 bucks.
The double set screw ones are generally easier. theres less surface area on shaft . Pullers do suck . iv'e done industrial maint. for over 35 years and i can tell you without a doubt the Air hammer/Hammer drill approach is the way

Why not preload it with the puller then heat the hub with your oxy torch?
Doing this almost 30 years never used a puller but maybe twice. Never even owned one
Is that a bull point tip sds bit your using?
Good thing the factory used anti-seize on that 35 years ago..
Score another one for Ted. And don't forget, he likes cats too. Too bad he's not in East TN...
Ted , the Larry Bird of trash talk Good vid Sir ... Thx
round 2 of puller on pulling out the wind spinner fan blade off the motor
Can't beat that time at all. Mmm lets see what Kraus can do.
So was yours worse? I didn’t hear.
I would love to see the orange beauty.
And Ted says, "Allow me to retort"😂
Grame, set, match😅😅😅😅😅
I believe it was 3 seconds
Oh man... Out she comes! ;)
Nice Ted. I had a puller (still have it) that only failed to work once back when I was in the biz. Never would have thought of the hammer drill. I wonder if my little Milwaukee drill on the hammer setting would work.
It took 9 seconds I timed it
Great job
HA!!
shots fired
Good job ted 👍
Hahaha
he can learn
Great job
😂 nice Ted
🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
3 seconds
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Another asmr from Ted! Just so you know, you dont need all that, but just a drill that has hammerdrill function and a dull drillbit
What is asmr ??

I have two of those drills. Thanks for the idea. I have never used a puller on resi but have posilock for commercial jobs.
🤣
lol
I remember way back when you used a dull drill bit on the motor shaft. That seemed to work really well.
Experience is a wonderful thing. lol
Ted the seasoned veteran of the A/C community!
Well Ted, you sure are a wizz at that 👍 Au
😆 The Ted Cook Power Puller
😂 love it 👍
😂 good one!👍

Ted, your just the man. When you got that much expertise it just ooozes naturally.
