Baz, thank-you so much for working on my (this) car. After seeing your videos you were the only guy I wanted to do this job and I'm glad i made the journey over. I was pleased to see the belt was in 'ok' condition and the oil pick-up was clear; I've known this car from new and know it's always had the right oil in it, goes to show its makes a massive difference following the manufacturers guidance, particularly with this engine. If I carry on with the same service routine I'm sure this belt will last the life of the car. A great video with great content. Showing problems, common issues and how to overcome them is the sign of a true professional, awesome work!
Mines suspension components Barry , as the roads in sunny Bolton are shite , we call it pot hole city 😂😂😂nice drilling out of the top quality exhaust studs
Also just noticed it has Michelin Cross Climates all round , same tyres as my C-Max & my work van has them & they are like a 4x4 in the snow just grip like hell best tyres on the market like Goodyear all season very similar, expensive but safety is paramount & my company has them by default no exceptions .
Haven't had the pleasure of doing one of these yet. Have done the Transit Ecoblue a few times though. What's the repair time on the ecoboost? Everything now seems so labour intensive. Why do they make it so hard nowadays 😂
I do enjoy your wet belt video’s. I find it strange that some get clogged up at the oil pick up (even with regular servicing) and some are completely fine.
Hi Baz, I'm getting prepared to renew the wet timing belt on my 2016 Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost next year. Could you please tell me the size of the cobalt drill bit you use to drill out exhaust flange studs. Also, what size are the bolts you use when refitting exhaust flange - they look like M8 or M10 ?
Baz is there any figures of failed wet belts against numbers of vehicles sold with them? A guy I know worked for Ford for years and he can’t recall any snapping.
I look at my classic mini 998cc engine in place and its all accessible two hand tight thumb screws and the rocker cover is off and rockers and valves just there in front of you starter motor two bolts and its off alternator three bolts and a clip and its off one bolt and the distributer is off ..spark plugs in front of you two minutes to take out ..time to take entire engine out for a trained person 1 hour and that is generous...so ford how did you manage to get this bag of crap so messed up oh just forgot £2000.00 pounds for ford to change a cam belt... think on that folks
Baz , no video you do is boring , far from it pal as these wet belt jobs constantly jogs my memory from when I did mine in June 2022 & took me all week as had to work on axle stands so under & throughing under the car which is time consuming but I think next time will be a lot quicker & it was a C-Max 64 plate so did have more room to manoeuvre as well , keep em coming, also have you done a Mondeo yet 1.0 ecoboost ? I bet there’s even more room in the bay I guess ? Seen loads of fiestas & focuses but no other C-maxes or Mondeos or a transit connect nore an eco sport either thinking about it 👍🤝👌🤔
@@bazmeredith I know you will buddy , I’m sure a Mondy will show up one day , be interesting to see you do one just for room , also Baz it was nice to see you , Marvelous & Jimmy on the RUclips Vid at the NEC last weekend ( my depot is just round the corner from there btw) & congrats on winning 🏆, I think all three of you should have won 🏆🏆🏆 but anyway a toast to you all 🤝🤝🤝
There's a reason for this, I don't want to be the person on the internet that does it for ex amount, I like to keep it fair for those that are quoting the jobs

It was a pleasure meeting you Gary and having a little chat. Your car is a very clean example and keep up what you're doing with the servicing!!!!
I might move to Wales so I can be nearer to your garage and you handsome people 😊. See you next year for my new wetbelt and a little holiday. 👍
That starter now identifies as an alternator 😂
I hope your work is giving u a little extra for the free work there getting from your RUclips and quality workmanship

I love the tips keep them coming I used the block of wood under the driveshaft why didn't I think of that sooner thanks Baz legend.

A recent swedish tyre test showed they performed about the same as chinky ditchfinders in the summer, and not particularly good in the winter either.
These will be keeping garages going for a long time, seems like a lottery if belts lasts or not.good work baz
You the cream machine, only time I get a wet belt on one of those is when the oil pressure light is on and it needs big ends and a turbo
Excellent work 😊👍
You are the Man for these 👏
Splendid work, Baz! 👌🏻
Another video smashed, again great content and a massive congrats on the award. Couldn't gave went to anyone better.. 🎉smashed it.
Cheers buddy appreciate this 🤙
Any chance of a video of all the tasks you use the wheel cap pliers for? Pretty versatile. Can they do fuel lines or not deep enough?
Yes by all means, will probably be a short tho.... And yes they do some fuel lines not all tho
I believe that crankshaft seal tool also aligns/ guides the chain cover when the seal is out 👍🏻
Yeah I get into my own zone then jump easy when a work colleague sneaks up behind me 😂😂
Nice 👍
Nice as always, why do you look for fuel trims after the job? Possible vacuum leaks?
Seen the wall behind you mate with borg and beck on it are they any good buddy as I've seen them for years now but never used them
I've used b&b for the majority of my 24 year career and honestly can't fault them
Hey Baz, once the oil is drained, is it possible to get a borescope through the sump to do a visual check of the oil strainer for debris?thanks.

people say 10 hrs plus
8-10 hours is about right providing everything plays ball
I do enjoy your wet belt video’s.

Only Ford know the answer. It's either oil or belt.
Hi Baz whats the approx cost on doing these belts . Thanks
Hi Baz,

Could you please tell me the size of the cobalt drill bit you use to drill out exhaust flange studs.

I just start off with an ⅛ drill bit and work my way up.... M10s they are but what ever bolt you can get in there buddy
@@bazmeredith Baz, thanks for that info and, by the way, your videos are great.
@@RetiredVehicleTech-nk5ch really appreciate it buddy 🤙
What is the cost to do these? How many hours and price of parts and where in Wales are you? I'm in northwales
Still no garages in Skegness doing them ..

Not like the good old sigma engines in the fiesta, these are another level of involvement and cost.
You never show the oil pump belt, does that get changed as well
Oil pump belt always gets changed buddy
hi baz i have a 1.2 puretech, what belt brand do you recommend i was told alot of belts are the same as geniune now.
I've used dayco on those buddy
thank you baz.
If it has a FSH then Peugeot will replace up to 10 years FOC

Reason why you're getting loads of ecoboost wet belt jobs is because Ford did a u turn on their policy about wet belts
What was wrong with the old type of torque wrench 🔧….torque converter??
Because stupid tight

Good news about ford honouring if wet belt fails before it time
Ye so I believe, good news for the ones that fail
If they have failed ford are reimbursing people as well
Hi how do I contact you for the job please
Email in my bio
Or Eco boom as its affectionately known, closely related to the Peugeot Pure crap.
YOU NEVER SAY HOW MUCH THIS COSTS? sorry caps
