Picked up a Kong 50 the other day. Very nice cooler - honestly between Pelican and Kong - these brands are at the top of my list. I own 3 Yeti coolers for reference.
I agree! Cordova Coolers are nice too, and also made in the USA. I was going to buy Pelican before I stumbled on to the Kong Coolers. I am very Happy with Kong. I owned 1 Yeti, but it really irritates me when company’s move production out of the states for greed, Traeger did the same thing with the grills, used to be made in the states and then when they started getting more popular they moved production to China. Then they keep the prices high. Lamiglas fishing rods same thing!
Thank you for the information. When Yeti ditched the NRA, I was a day away from purchasing another one. Fortunately, I found out about what had happened and ordered an RTIC 45 cooler. I am very pleased with it. I may now need another big cooler and will consider this cooler along with another RTIC. Let's see what happens...
Made in the USA sold me on Kong, Elkhart Plastics is Kong’s mother company, they are a plastics manufacturer that has been making insulated commercial tubs and containers for the fishing industry for 30 years. Now they are making great Coolers for the rest of us! Kong uses FDA approved materials so food can be in direct contact with the coolers without any worries. Free shipping too!
I didn’t even think of calling and asking!!!!! I just put a video up of ice retention with the Kong 110, 16+ days, it melted before the 17th day was up! With 3” of insulation I can see why it outperforms others!
I bet the Toyota is better quality than that cooler😁. Im just messin around. I have never heard of that brand of cooler. Definitely will check em out. 👍
William Gray, I’m not sure on thickness of insulation. I have got 13 days of ice with my Kong 70, and 6 days with a single block of ice in the Kong 25. I have had my Kong 70 for 11 months and love it!
Bought one, had to return it.... then had to return the replacement. They should prob stick to dog toys. Get over your personal politics.... Yeti is a far superior product.
Sorry but the Phillipino made Yeti is NOT a far superior product. Guarantee, latches, carry handles all INFERIOR on the Yeti. Yeti had to change their latches (Roadie, more to follow) to attempt to be more like Pelican and Kong style latches. Not related to quality, but Yeti also misleads with their advertising and branding. For example a Yeti 35 only holds 29.87 quarts. Other brands, like Pelican and Kong are more accurate, if anything understate the capacity. For example, Kong 25 holds 29.61 quarts.

My curiosity for cooler insulation was answered, I called king cooler and rep told me 3 inches in lid and body

Is this cooler small enough to slide from front to back on the 18' tacoma bed? Also do you know if they are leak proof from outside elements? Thanks
Wow 13 days? That is crazy, must have some pretty good insulation thickness. Thanks for the info

Very nice cooler been looking at these for a little while, just wondering if you know how thick the insulation is , lid , bottom, sides?

Hopefully this info helps in your decision, there are a lot of Coolers on the market, it’s hard trying to weed through them!
I mean Kong Coolers

The Blake not the dog toy company!
joerevis I realize that they are different product lines, but they both derived from Elkhart Plastics.
Would be helpful if you explained why you had to return them.
