aah i just graduated last year and these tips would’ve been so helpful back then !! but one thing ive also learned is to seek out the seniors from your major bc sometimes they offer to either sell or give away old text books (maybe even old notes if they’re nice enough) good luck getting your degrees !! 🩷
I just moved in for my freshman year on Wednesday and I am beginning to feel lonely as I have not really made any friends. Classes still haven’t started yet but I am still really worried that I wont meet any friends and I will be alone all year.
totally valid!! if I could give u one advice it would be to remember that everyone around you is in the same boat, wanting to make new friends. I find reminding myself of this allows me to be open to starting conversations with others! Also honestly best tip ever is just to simply smile🫶🏻
@@angelaluo checking back in a month later and things definitely did get better. I still don't have a friend group or a group to hang out with outside of school hours which is really hard since I had that throughout high school. I have some friends from the club sport I am in, but we rarely have hung out and I feel like I am always the one to initiate us hanging out. I know everything takes time but it's becoming kind of lonely here and I'm really worried that I am going to be miserable because I don't have anyone to hang out with. Since it is already past the first few weeks where people are looking for friends, I feel like I missed the window to meet people. It's beginning to be time to plan out housing for next year and I still have no one to live with, since me and my roommate are not really friends. I just am not sure how to get myself to meet new people.
For me, I take notes on every bit of the lecture (usually on the slides so it makes it easier), but focus on highlighting things that the prof spends awhile talking about because most likely it will be tested! Also try reading and get familiar with the "learning outcomes" that's usually available at the beginning of the lecture slides, so throughout the lecture you can aim to answer them.
question, im gonna commute long distance. So im so scared i will be missing out on the uni life :( like yk fun outing with friends or stuff like that. do you have any advice for that or so?
I totally get that as I've felt the same way. What I've learned is that when it comes to socialization in Uni, you have to make an effort to make plans with friends (because everyone is busy studying). Whether you find a friend group or not, I strongly suggest you celebrate and go to school events (homecoming, halloween parties, club events, etc). This way you are able to feel like you're apart of the community and also meet new people! The hardest part is just getting yourself to go to campus:) Also try making friends who live on campus so y'all can have fun sleepovers! Lmk if you have more questions about friends (cus I got more advice:)
@@angelaluo oh tysm for the advice. I checked out your other videos and i loved them :D maybe if you have time you should make a separate video on making friends or stuff in Uni! i would love your advice :D
I try to do it the night before so I can feel fully prepared the next day! But sometimes if I have a couple of hours before the lecture on the day of, I'll do it then :)
Feel free to ask any other questions here!

How do you know what you need to take notes on when listening to a lecture?
