Thanks Hazel, this place is another that's relatively close to home. WE had a hot Friday and Saturday but the prediction is for rain for nearly the next 2 weeks. I did get a walk in yesterday so have a video to edit for next weekend. Hope your weather improves and have a great weekend and week.😊
LOL ....... a bit spoilt for beaches around here. Yeah the pink in the rocks is most unusual. Took me three goes to get there when the tide and swell were at a safe level. Luckily it's only 40 mins from my home.
Yes the Pink Cave is very popular place for people to go and see. The beach was great and the water was great for a swim after I turned the camera off. Thanks for watching Pam.
I took on that walk from the top of the Moonie Beach Trail near Snapper Point a few months back. Really stunning walk and I had several people tell me there are no caves to the north of the beach. I checked it out anyway and was truly amazed with what I found at the Pink Boulder Caves. I went out around the point to the Ghosties Beach Cave but tide was up further for me. I still got to experience the cave but was hoping to get to the 2nd one as well. Sadly that didn't happen. Turned out about a 9km round trip and was well worth it. Video is of course on my channel.
I did that walk from Snapper Point to Ghosties before I was making videos. I did do one from Snapper Point Rd along the Moonee Bch trail to Ghostlies a few years back for a video. I don't know if i'm brave enough to get to that second cave. Have to be a extreme low tide and low swell.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I had to take some time off to recover from a broken shoulder that needed surgery and hope to get back to regular videos soon. (we've just had 2 weeks of rain with more predicted next week) I'll get out again when I get a dry day.
Park in Hooey St Catherine Hill Bay. There is beach access near where Hooey St curves to the left up the hill. Parking is very limited so may need to park around the corner and walk back.
The Pink Caves are really interesting! It's great to see the beach at low tide too! The entrance to the cave area looked pretty rough and like maybe one could slip down into the water? I don't know if you mentioned, do people dive in the cave too? I know they do it some places and have to be very careful of the tides and currents. Really pretty day at the beach! :)
Yes it can be tricky. You have to time your visit at low tide and when the sea swell is low. There is definitely a set way and order to place your feet to get in and out safely. I have seen pics of people diving in there but think it can be a bit sketchy.

They are both unusual and beautiful. Not a hard walk to go see them but need the right tide and sea swell conditions to keep it safe.

Thank you. I use a GoPro Hero 9 Black to make the video and DaVinci Resolve 16 to do the editing.

The NPWS has now prohibited access to the Pink Cave, because people did need to be rescued. They have also closed Timber Beach.
