Apparently you can save the game and put your Switch down and go outside, although I haven't dare tried this yet, I'm only typing this during a load screen.

I do it all the time on Master Sword trials. You can turn it off as long as you don't close the software it will remember where you are. It's a save state.

heres a list of another 13 you can do in Legend of Zelda that you may not know
1: you can freeze your meet in cold environments
2: you can freeze enemies in time with stasis time with spaces time with stace's thyme with stasis
3: you can ride bears, giant horse, a legendairy magical/spiritual horse and even skeleton horses.
4: you can bounce back lazer beams with any shields
5: octo rocks will clean your weapons and repair rusted weapons when you throw them at their mouths while they trying to give Link Link the succ.
6: you can set your bow on fire (you may be able to shot normal arrows like fire arrows but my friend refused to shoot when i discovered this)
7: you can sheild jump into air attack to cover extra distance When jumping (this is actually a speedrunner's technique, please don't qoute me on this i pretty sure i may have it mixed up maybe)
8: you can set any wooden weapon on fire and deal extra damage in exchange for their durability slowly going away. Bonus fact, (if you set your enemies weapons on fire; all you need to is wait them out and over time they will be disarmed.)
    9. you can save before using amiibos inorder to re-roll what items you want. hint(the fierce deity outfit is in the game and it's comes form the zelda amiibo you least expect)
10: you don't need to sneak up on walruses to ride them, just take a bomb arrow and run up and press a (sorry walruses, we just love riding you too much)
11: if you stand out of the rang of archer, you maybe have a infinite supplies of arrows appearing before you(i saw this happend in a stream and i really wish i could test this my self but i don't own the game so that will just have to stay on mu unanswered question list as well as the maximum amount of arrows link can hold)
12: you can set any patch of grass on fire to create an updraft. (this is very useful for reaching hard to reach places)
13: you can become dark link.(by which i mean, get his outfit.) simply find the monster fan sells man and grind to get enough mon to buy the cloths. something special about the outfit is that it makes you faster at night.
and that was another 13 things that you can do in Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild. thank you, this been MystZER0 commenting on nintendo Life here and i hope you have a great day

I never really knew what to do with octoballoons. Now I have an idea! And the chuchujelly, I put those in fire and they instantly become a little remote bomb waiting for me to shoot it and blow it up. I can use it to light campfires or sneak into enemy camps and drop it in the middle, then sneak back out. Then I shoot an arrow toward them to get their attention and when they run toward me and get near the red chuchu jelly, I shoot it! BOOM goes the baddies! =)

I haven't owned a nintendo console for years and was just so blown away by footage and reviews I've seen, I just needed to get this game. And wow, this was well worth it. Sure, the story and lore isn't quite as deep, but it's mechanically so dense, that exploration is (easily) arguably more rewarding. I seriously spend hours being unabashedly unproductive in botw.

    • @JohnvanCapel
      @JohnvanCapel 7 лет назад +8

Sadly, Lynel can't actually be tamed. You can deal a ton of damage while you're on his back, though - it's worth using a few stamina-increasing foods and elixirs just to get some more damage in.
It's an indispensable tactic against a certain tougher-than-the-final-boss Lynel.

    • @jenniferchough
      @jenniferchough 6 лет назад +1

John van Capel - stamina food doesn't prolong the time you're able to mount the lynel while damaging it. you only get 5 hits in and then you're bucked off no matter how much stamina you have. however, what is good about having a lot of stamina there is, that immediately after you're bucked off, you can pull our your arrow and slo-mo hit the back of its head. extra damage.

I love the face that you can drop regular chu chu jelly near a metal weapon during a thunderstorm to change it into yellow chu chu jelly. I mean it makes sense, since dropping it near a fire or ice water changes it into red or white, but I still wasn't sure the lightning trick would definitely work, so I thought it was very cool that it did.

    • @stephen_harvey
      @stephen_harvey 6 лет назад

even further... electric jelly makes a shock, shocks in water make a huge radius, so swinging a blue chu chu jelly creates the water and the yellow chu chu jelly electrocutes the water to create that shock bubble.... and it even works so far as only that order.... if you instead shock the yellow jelly, then the blue... the yellow was still dry so it goes off as normal.....

    I got some as well:
*You know those pinwheels that eventually lead to a Korok Seed? When it's about shooting the acorn jars, you CAN use Stasis on them.
*Ice elemental weapons lower your body temperature.
*Fire elemental weapons higher your body temperature.
    *Cryonis works in deep mud!
*While it is mentioned in game, I'll say it anyway. Acorns & tree nuts can be used in elixirs. (I hope)
*Button switches inside shrines can be affected by Stasis.

You can put stasis on rafts. Yep. I've never used another koroku leaf after that.
Lizalfos are like pokemons, if you hit them with the opposite type of magic (fire/ice etc.), they'll just go to dust, literally.

Chuchu jelly is pretty versatile. You can take regular (blue) jelly and subject it to stimuli to change its color without searching out elemental Chuchus. Burn it for red, freeze it for white, or zap it for yellow. Also, any of the three "special" jelly types will detonate if struck- they can be dumped on the battlefield in a pinch and used like traps....just try not to be too close when it happens.

Meme Gamer There isn't that much hand holding, but there is navigation system similar to Skyrim and you can select which main quest you want to do. You make sure to upgrade your allowed number of weapons you get to keep. I've tried to skip that part and ended up in trouble. keep a notebook on things like crafting food and potions. or you could just take pictures. one good one a hearty radish and a hearty truffle. Truffles are the hardest to find.

You can ride - and tame - a bear. It scares most enemies away on account of *being a bear*, but as a tradeoff it's slower than any horse and you can't stable it. But it's still Link riding a giant bear.
You can get flirted with by most men in the game if you wear the Gerudo outfit.
You can attach Octo-Balloons to things.
You can try to set the flower garden around that one temple on fire from far enough that the girl who chews you out for it (even if you already beat the temple) doesn't know it's you, then watch the wildfire claim her precious flowers. (Yes, I do hate that girl. Annoying puzzle is annoying.)

Flame weapons (such as that flaming greatsword that I forgot the name of) will help keep you warm as long as you have them equipped! I assume ice weapons will keep you cool though I haven't tested that yet.
Blue chu jelly can be changed to different elements! Putting it next to a fire for example (or just dropping it on Death Mountain) will turn it into red chu jelly... which really comes in handy if you run out of flint! Just strike it and it will explode into flames! Elemental chu jelly can also be used as a weapon, just chuck one into an enemy camp and shoot it with an arrow! (well any strike will work, but an arrow is best so you stay out of the blast zone).
If you freeze an enemy with an ice weapon/arrow, you can use a Korok leaf to blow it off a cliff!
Don't want to waste hits on your bladed weapons on felling a tree? Just use a bomb. Then use another bomb on the fallen tree trunk. You still get firewood!

here's something, not that I did but something weird that happened in game:
I was at Tabantha Bridge Stable, and went inside to rest for the night because there was a thunderstorm. As I was talking to the man behind the counter, lightning struck super close to the stable. So close, smoke got in the stable. When it cleared, the cooking pot right outside was lit, despite not being lit due to the rain. Lightning struck the pot and lit the fire underneath. I had never seen that happen before. It was beautiful.
One thing I've done is gotten a skeletal horse thanks to being around at night while Stalbokoblins were riding those horses. I rode a 3-spur skeleton horse as far as I could... then day came before I got to the stable, and the horse poofed.
The lightning cooking pot thing was cooler, though.

The ever versatile Chchu jelly. Place a few of them beside a camp fire and they become fire/red chuchu jelly. Later when you need to like a fire, plop down a fire/red jelly and hit it something. Way easier than finding flint.
Place a chuchu jelly in the cold and it becomes white chuchu jelly that you can use to freeze enemies.
Those are the only elemental interactions I've found thus far but I suspect that even more can be done with chuchu jelly.

I actually have a funny story involving the whole "metal weapons can carry an electric current" mechanic. I was trying to do the Shrine outside of Gerudo Village, which requires you to move metal crates and barrels to unlock doors to treasure chests, more metal objects and, eventually, the end of the Shrine. After completing the puzzle and getting everything, I was heading to the final bit and died because I was too close to a metal crate that had an electric current flowing through it. I was so angry because I thought I'd have to do the whole puzzle again. Then I thought "Wait. Metal weapons, bows and shields attract lighting in storms, so maybe...", dropped a bunch of metal items, discovered they carry the current, and used them to cheat the entire puzzle so I didn't need to open any doors other than the last one.

  • @trueevil3527

    Other discoveries:
    1. You can even use electric weapons to activate things that need a battery/electricity
    2. (Based on Grass updraft trick) if grass isn't available use wood and set a bunch on fire ... Only works outdoors
    3. Out of fire arrows , make a camp fire beside you and just place the arrow on it .
    4. You can't use bomb arrow in the rain.

You can use elemental weapons or arrows on certain enemies to change what they drop to something of that element. Doesn't work with every enemy, but it should work for chuchu's. This will come in handy if you're looking for items to upgrade your armor. I still need to try with keese, but I think it'll work the same.

Most of the things are from playing around with the "Chemesty Engine" as they Devs had called it,
1&4) You can see how the envirement reacts to your wooden equitment and its only counting 1 and 1 together that the same would apply to food..
2 & 3 & 7) Also you mentioned Octoballons twice.. and you'll get a sidequest where you learn about it, same with the Deer..
    5) I always drop the rock on the Krogs heads, they deserve it xD first they stole the seeds and then went on to hide all over the world..
    6) Didnt know that the chickens drop eggs when they get scared. (also try getting the mobs hit the chicken ;) and enjoy the show, someone must try that with the ganon fight!!!
    8) Oh I used the stasis rune and hit it a bunch times, always thought of the roundish end as the front of the cart but also kinda easy to notice and figure out, its out of metal after all and picking up metal things is one of the first things you'll learn..
    9) Yeah... xD try it with "special" clothes, could improve the visual effect xD.
    10) Would actually work if you left the octoballons away.
    11) Known it with the dog but after i watched another video about befrinding a dog..
    12) You'll learn about it in a shrine..
    13) Apparently you can't count? Theres no 13. thing, might want to edit the title?
But as i said most of them are just the "Chemestry Engine" of the game ( you can use wind mechanics on Bombs too, or use the Bombrune while gliding)

This will probably get lost in the masses, but I found a way you can kind of turn a raft into a motorboat. Or at least go about as fast as one. First, get something you can use magnesis on. (I used a chest, but something bigger would probably be better) Then stand on a raft, with your back toward where you want to go. Then use magnesis on that object, put the mast between it and you, then pull it towards you. You'll pull the whole raft along. It takes some balancing and getting used to, but I found it's the fastest way to travel over water.

If you are in an area with lots of bow enemies let them shoot you until they no longer drop usable arrows. You can pick up arrows that they fired and missed with. Then kill them. They tend to drop 5 more as well. Each enemy will give you a decent amount of free arrows. Now Rupees required. But only works for normal arrows.
