That was inspiring, well filmed and packed with great ideas! I'll reuse the docking mechanism in a future project :D

That layer bulge at 2:32 usually happens when you have a big shift in layer time. The layers under that line took e.g. 8 minutes each, giving them a lot of time to cool. after the line, the layers only took e.g. 3, cause its just a wall. Giving them much less time to cool. Loved that docking mechanism!

Your diffuser solutions works very well I would say. Cant imagine how beautiful it would look if you ever have the time to get a traditional bamboo and washi paper chochin shade. Maybe some new version in the future? ;) Anyways, the linnen also looks wonderful. Great project, congrats!

this is amazing! one recommendation would be that its usually better to have the springs on the male end (like how it is in the switch you mentioned) as it prevents any "exposed" connectors, ie. none of the connectors are susceptible to sheer forces

Ohh this is a really cool DIY project. The only thing I would be worried about would be the battery. It should be fine but it could get rather warm which could decrease the lifespan but to be honest soldering a diy battery pack could be much worse. This is very cool especially the connector for the lamp ;)

@ThefirstSteveofmany I'm a bit worried for the battery as well, it has pass through charging which should help when the lamp is turned on and docked however maybe I'll have to replace the battery later

Great video :) Question. Wouldn't heat inserting the magnets demagnetise them?

@johnmarie8830 oh I didn't think about that 😅, they did seem a bit weaker but the glued in magnets still are strong enough for the cable
