Yes it's a wrestler named Al Green who at one point was one half of the Master Blasters tag team with a young Kevin Nash (Green was Master Blaster Blade, and Nash was Master Blaster Steel)
Are you saying The Dog was the same guy as George The Animal Steel? Because you are wrong. The Dog's was Al Green Kevin Nash's former tag partner in The Master Blasters. Honestly he looks nothing like George Steel.
Al Green legit looks nothing like George Steel.and he was 18 years younger than George. George would have been 63 in the year 2000 lol. Aside from them looking nothing alike in the face Al Green had 0 body hair. Dead give away.
They lost all credibility when they said 2000's wrestlers you don't remember. Being WCW went out of business in 2001, it should've said 90's wrestlers.
Jeffrey Coogan Yeah, you're right--- with some mix ups, it's easy to see where maybe a name got confused or maybe 2 people looked similar.... but this is such a bizarre, nonsensical error! I'm baffled.
I was about to say the same thing. George Steele was my parents high school teacher, and I knew that man my whole life. "The Dog" was a pathetic fake Animal. Nothing like the character Mr Meyers played as George Steele.
Tony Spike Actually they gave him the gimmick because he went to college on a music scholarship and is legit trained classical pianist. Still a shit wrestling gimmick though
4:32 - the saddest thing about Asya is that they missed out on a potential angle with her: if they spelled her name "Aja" instead and paired her with The Demon Dale Torborg, they could've begun a stable of people named for 70s rock references! :V
Considering Nitro's final episode was March 2001, that's a lot of wrestlers we forgot from just a year and a few months of airtime. Also, i know it's already blowing up below...but did Simon not even look at a picture of the Dog before doing this list?...
A couple things: First, I remember ALL of these guys, except for 2 (Jason Jett i will give you, and The Machine.) Second, if we 'totally don't remember' Brad Armstrong as Buzzkill, how can his legacy be 'a casualty of Russo's inane booking tirade?' Third, The Dog was NOT George Steele, as anyone with eyes can see. It was Al Green. Really? You thought this was George Steele? So who was The Maestro? Adrian Adonis? Get it right dude.
If you had watched, Armstrong started off complaining to Curt Hennig about not getting an opportunity and some sour grapes toward his brother. Buzzkill wasn't an attempt to "rip off" Road Dogg. It was an attempt to get the Brad Armstrong character over by having him try to rip off his brother, which is a heel thing to do.
well the artist was ok, but Paisley was bad ass, definitely the sexiest and most beautiful woman in the history of wrestling. She had soo much class, style and beauty with her purple dresses and hair and everything
He wasn't even a Jannetty. At least marty can claim he was a former WWF Intercontinental Champion. I wouldn't even consider Paris a flash in the pan, let alone a Jannetty.
As much shit as WCW gets for some of their stupid choices (they deserve it), WWE has just as many that should be brought up too. It's like people forget/gloss over how many horrible ideas & dumb angles they tried, just because they won the Monday night wars. Hell, they're still doing dumb shit today....I feel like there should be more videos calling out their stuff instead of focusing on the stupidity everyone knows from WCW and ECW.
I take a sigh of relief when i hear simon's voice in these list. That adam is unbearable to hear in list videos. He tries so hard to be "our" adam, the best one. But God bless you son of Goldberg.
I went to two WCW events in 2000 Thunder in Feb and Halloween Havoc in October and the quality and talent was drastically different Thunder was like a typical episode and Halloween Havoc was so weird and unstructured nobody knew WTF was going on lol
Same. Prince Iaukea had some good matches for the cruiserweight matches in 1998 with Mysterio, Malenko, Jericho and others, and was actually a good wrestler
Great list. The Stro still performs on the independent level quite often around the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic areas. I run into him every few months. Great guy though.
I remember about half of them. I gave up on WCW around the time Beniot and co left. It's a shame. Over the course of about 5 years or so, WCW showed us how cool wrestling could be and also how much it could suck.
That George Steele mention has to be a joke of some sort. How could any wrestling fan think that was George Steele like out of all the supposed wrestling fans that make up whatculture nobody knew this???
"The Dog" was former Master Blaster the late Al green who's real name was Alfred Dobalo, while George Steele's real name was William James Myers. EZ Money (Jason Jett) also had a small amount of matches in ROH during 2002, most notably a decent one against Paul London.
That E-Z Money- Kid Kash match at Anarchy Rulez is beyond good. It stole the show in the curtain jerker spot. That was a really solid card too, Jerry Lynn won the world title on that card in a great match with Justin Credible in Jerry’s home town of Minneapolis.
WCW really droped the ball w/ Brad Armstrong (the best of the Armstrong wrestling family w/ exception ot his dad "Bullet" Bob Armstrong). I would have love to see Brad Armstrong vs. Kevin Von Erich. R.I.P Brad Armstrong.
Brad's other brothers Scott and Steve weren't too bad in WCW either. But unfortunately for them WCW didn't ever care to give the Armstrongs any significant push. Brad got the biggest push of them, and it wasn't very much of one.
And I don't really remember Kevin Von Erich being in WCW. He wrestled in the Texas region for World Class Championship Wrestling/United States Wrestling Accosiation until he retired, only wrestling again sporadically for charity. Brad Armstrong vs. Kevin Von Erich might have made for an interesting match, who knows though??? Personally I think Kevin wouldn't have much problem beating Brad Armstrong. Kevin was one of the more skilled wrestlers of the Von Erich kids. Brad Armstrong vs. KERRY Von Erich, now that might have been an even more interesting match, but once again, who knows???
@Frank Good eye. That is the role she did just before becoming Symphony here. She also popped up as Aleesha in TNA a couple years later, as an apparent talent scout that would come out on the ramp, take what seemed to be bribes from wrestlers, and then leave (this angle never progressed beyond that).
A lot of the randomness was explained by Kevin Nash a few years ago (the interview's around this hellsite somewhere, it's great)...it basically all boils down to too many guys with creative control deciding that they weren't going to do something on Nitro, after that week's Thunder had already been taped. Also, Styles actually *was* signed by WWE in 2002, but they assigned him to Heartland Wrestling Association and wanted him to relocate to Cincinnati, so he turned it down because his wife had just started college in Atlanta.
The mask on the Machine reminded me of a gimmick that Andre, Hulk Hogan, Bill Eadie and I think someone else ran with in the 80s. Andre had to hide his identity due to a storyline suspension. They had a number of members, including Blackjack Mulligan, Piper, etc.
What's the difference between not remembering and totally not remembering? Someone told me once but I don't remember...or maybe I totally don't remember. Boy now I'm confused.
I was and still am a hardcore WCW fanatic, I'll admit that. I'm not sure anyone could name a wrestler who had at least one match in WCW that I've never heard of. #1 almost stumped me, but then I remembered that Emory Hale actually wrestled AS Emory Hale at least once on Nitro. I did not know of his Machine gimmick, though.
Interesting side note. I also used to wrestle under the name “The Machine”. My ring attire was totally different though. I wore pleather fetish wear when I wrestled. I got my gimmick from the Nick Cage movie “8mm”.
simon... the dog was famous 70s r&b singer al green who also was in the bands Wrecking Crew and Master Blasters (alongside famous musician/wrestler Graham "Kevin" Nash) ... get your facts right
If you are going to mock a company for their output, you should probably make sure your own facts are correct. Loads of people have already stated why your dog segment is wrong. Embarrassing. Plain embarrassing.
I wonder if they forgot to censor Simon swearing here, or if they are moving away from it. Caught me by surprise. Sounds better though. Also, George Steele wasn't The Dog, so you may as well just re-do the whole video, cause it's not accurate. This is glaringly obvious considering GEORGE STEEL WAS ALMOST 20 YEARS OLDER THAN AL GREEN (The real "The Dog").
I know who all these guys are/were other than buzzkill, Jason jet and I'm pretty sure George Steele isn't the dog, that guy looks nothing like him do remember him tho, great video tho :D Simon and jules are cool, the rest of whatculture has went the way of wcw in 2000...
Is it just me, or are they just randomly censoring things in these videos? Don’t get me wrong, more times than not these videos are gold but seriously. Simon said “fuck” more then once without bleeping it out in this video but then they censored that same word in text during that warning gag
George Steele wasn't repacaged as The Dog Thats a wrestler named Al Green
They didn't even look alike. Just look at the pictures in this video!
Not THE Al Green
not the rev
Yes it's a wrestler named Al Green who at one point was one half of the Master Blasters tag team with a young Kevin Nash (Green was Master Blaster Blade, and Nash was Master Blaster Steel)
Plus Steele was working for the WWE at the time as a road agent. SMH
Are you saying The Dog was the same guy as George The Animal Steel? Because you are wrong. The Dog's was Al Green Kevin Nash's former tag partner in The Master Blasters. Honestly he looks nothing like George Steel.
Lol i'm dead surprised Simon said that, that's the sort of shit knowledge you'd expect from WIlborn or Clery
Blake Maquar and after he built it up like he was dropping the biggest pipe bomb of 2018 with warning labels and everything.
It's like WC have just stopped trying....
Al Green legit looks nothing like George Steel.and he was 18 years younger than George. George would have been 63 in the year 2000 lol. Aside from them looking nothing alike in the face Al Green had 0 body hair. Dead give away.
George was in the Oddities looking old years before this in WWE, he had a little run wearing goggles.
George Steele WAS NOT The Dog
OMFG Simon actually swore! FINALLY!!!
And it was uncensored
He meant it too! Doubled down on it
Lol ok I was mad at first, but hearing Simon Miller say WTF is so fucking hilarious😂
Please link it so I don't have to skim thru the vid
Was gonna correct you on the [ridiculously easily avoided] George Steele error. Do y'all even try anymore?
They lost all credibility when they said 2000's wrestlers you don't remember. Being WCW went out of business in 2001, it should've said 90's wrestlers.
PeeboTyson excellent point.
Jeffrey Coogan Yeah, you're right--- with some mix ups, it's easy to see where maybe a name got confused or maybe 2 people looked similar.... but this is such a bizarre, nonsensical error! I'm baffled.
It's because Vince Russo is secretly editing the scripts.
ChaosoneX the only reasonable explanation!
Wait that wasn't George the animal steele that was wrestler Al Green.
Kevin Nash's first tag team partner!
I was about to say the same thing. George Steele was my parents high school teacher, and I knew that man my whole life. "The Dog" was a pathetic fake Animal. Nothing like the character Mr Meyers played as George Steele.
tbb033
He also briefly teamed with the brother of Johnny Ace and Road Warrior Animal as well in a team called The Wrecking Crew.
This is why WrestleLamia is much better.
What culture is way better. They just dropped the ball on this vid.
Sad you didn't mention that The Maestro was legitimately the grandson of Gorgeous George Wagner.
yeah but this was WCW so they probably thought he was related to Richard Wagner and gave him a shite gimmick
evrbody
Not his grandson. He's his great nephew
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Maestro_%28wrestler%29#Personal_life
Tony Spike
Actually they gave him the gimmick because he went to college on a music scholarship and is legit trained classical pianist. Still a shit wrestling gimmick though

Prince Iaukea also won the World Television Championship before becoming The Artist.
A couple things: First, I remember ALL of these guys, except for 2 (Jason Jett i will give you, and The Machine.) Second, if we 'totally don't remember' Brad Armstrong as Buzzkill, how can his legacy be 'a casualty of Russo's inane booking tirade?' George Steele and the dog are not the same guy 😂
The artist and paisley was bad ass... The rest I definitely forgot about ... Btw the dog was Al Greene not George Steele
At least Paisley married a 5x...5x...5x WCW Heavyweight Champion
Bobby Lawson NOW CAN YOU DIG THAT....... SUCKAAAAAAA!!!
well the artist was ok, but Paisley was bad ass, definitely the sexiest and most beautiful woman in the history of wrestling. She had soo much class, style and beauty with her purple dresses and hair and everything
Dog was Nash’s tag partner as the Master Blasters. Not George Steele.
The artist formally known as Prince Iaukea vs Velveteen Dream: book it WWE
Yes but only if the Purple Beauty Goddess Paisley will wear Purple Hair and Purple Latex Dresses one last Time.
I’ve never forgotten the artist formerly known as prince Iaukea with his manager Paisley. That gimmick was hilarious.
The Gimmick was Glam, Stylish and Sexy and the Beauty of Paisley was breathtaking.💜💜💜💜💜
Simon (and maybe Jules) is purely the saving grace of whatculture
They're fucked then. Simon is beyond awful.
Bryant Woods I like simon. He actually knows his shit.
Zitra .com true the only good 2 in WHATCULTURE but if Simon and jules leaves goodbye WHATCULTURE
R.A.s Reviews A man who thinks Al Greene and George The Animal Steele are the same person does not know his stuff.
Jules is cancer.
Air Paris, the ultimate Jannetty
Alejandro; No.
He is so Jannetty he almost doesn’t even qualify.
To be fair he was in a team with AJ Styles. 99 % of all wrestlers ever would be the Janetty in a Team with AJ Styles.
He works at our Walmart! Super nice guy !
He wasn't even a Jannetty. At least marty can claim he was a former WWF Intercontinental Champion. I wouldn't even consider Paris a flash in the pan, let alone a Jannetty.
Simon is the only reason I’m still subscribed
I totally remember all of these guys, even the one you got wrong!
Corey D it only seems like they do. Except half of those WWE characters were all Charles Wright and the other half were all Glenn Jacobs. LOL
I agree but WCW in 2000 was downright atrocious as I remembered it back than.
If you don’t remember these guys you don’t watch enough OSW
DANK.central What BAR is The Dog?
thatonedrewguy fruit salad
thatonedrewguy Dog is definitely Reese's Pieces.
Not gonna lie, I thought I went crazy when they didn’t bleep Simon when he dropped those f bombs
Only thirty seconds in, and I can assure you I remember all these wrestlers.
I remembered everyone on that list. I loved WCW. And yes the 2000's was depressing but I stuck with WCW to the bitter end.
Didn't wcw only last for about 15 months after the beginning of the 2000s
I take a sigh of relief when i hear simon's voice in these list. That adam is unbearable to hear in list videos. He tries so hard to be "our" adam, the best one. But God bless you son of Goldberg.
Monkey D David yeah I remember hearing simons voice in the older videos and be like not Simon again now I like him
jules is the Adam copy, Cleary is just plain boring
Then he thinks The Dog was George Steele...
I mean, at least Cleary and Wilbourn don't make cringy mistakes as often as Simon does
I went to two WCW events in 2000 Thunder in Feb and Halloween Havoc in October and the quality and talent was drastically different Thunder was like a typical episode and Halloween Havoc was so weird and unstructured nobody knew WTF was going on lol
The dog was al green not george steele, whatculture do you even bother anymore?
Noo.... It was George " the animal steele"
I’m enjoying this uncensored Simon!! :)
I remember prince
Yeah when he mentioned him I certainly did. One of those blasts from the past.
Jericho called him Prince Nakumaki in a weird voice. That's all I remember .
Same. Prince Iaukea had some good matches for the cruiserweight matches in 1998 with Mysterio, Malenko, Jericho and others, and was actually a good wrestler
@@nick56677 Yeah but his Gimmick as Prince Iaukea was boring, but he rocked the Division with the Purple Beauty Queen Paisley on his side.💜💜💜💜💜
It's already been said. I just can't figure out if it's laziness or a stupid troll job by saying The Dog is George the Animal Steele.
Great list.
The Stro still performs on the independent level quite often around the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic areas.
I run into him every few months. Great guy though.

That George Steele mention has to be a joke of some sort. How could any wrestling fan think that was George Steele like out of all the supposed wrestling fans that make up whatculture nobody knew this???
I think we’ve all tried to repress the memories we have of WCW’s final days.
"The Dog" was former Master Blaster the late Al green who's real name was Alfred Dobalo, while George Steele's real name was William James Myers.
EZ Money (Jason Jett) also had a small amount of matches in ROH during 2002, most notably a decent one against Paul London.
I thought for sure I'd be seeing Kwee-Wee on this list.
Pastalet you did, sort-of, but Simon called him Kiwi.
Lenny Lane and Lodi
Surprised no one has brought up the fact that they’re basically making a video about forgotten wrestlers for 2000-01 literally a year and a half
How in the world did the script with George Steele as The Dog get through!?
I look forward to the future WhatCulture video in which we're confidently told Taz was the original Giant Gonzales.
Is he serious about that being George the animal Steele? Come on Simon
Well I remember The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea and The Maestro, but the rest I didn’t even know existed
Shut up and admit you had an Asya poster on your bedroom wall!
That E-Z Money- Kid Kash match at Anarchy Rulez is beyond good. It stole the show in the curtain jerker spot. That was a really solid card too, Jerry Lynn won the world title on that card in a great match with Justin Credible in Jerry’s home town of Minneapolis.

Are y'all going uncensored now?
I guess Simon will read whatever you put in front of him.
A lot of the randomness was explained by Kevin Nash a few years ago (the interview's around this hellsite somewhere, it's great)...it basically all boils down to too many guys with creative control deciding that they weren't going to do something on Nitro, after that week's Thunder had already been taped.

The "what the fuck" wasn't just perfectly pulled off, but his entire career up to this point has been building to this. Congrats Si
"The 2000's" - you mean just over a year that WCW was still a thing before Vince bought it?
Might as well be called "10 wrestlers who worked in empty arenas from 2000-2001."
Disco Inferno and das wounderkid Alex Wright had a dance feud between the two of them aw the good ol days
Disco Inferno was always really funny.. Alex Wright was always really annoying.
The frustrated passion that Simon showed in this video was top notch, it clearly struck a chord lol
Reno had massive potential, glad he went to AAA and became a masked Luchador, Kid Romeo had lots of potential I wish he had signed with WWE or AAA.
I like WhatCulture but sometimes they really shit the bed.
Man they shit the entire genre here bud
DAMN Simon. I thought you knew about wrestling. I remember them all but Jett and the Machine.
I actually remember Kid Romeo & Air Reid. But everyone else I honestly can’t even recall hearing of
Michael Modest should've made this list, he had a little run in March 2000 defeating Artist on Nitro in the process.
What's the difference between not remembering and totally not remembering? Someone told me once but I don't remember...or maybe I totally don't remember. Boy now I'm confused.
Only reason I knew about the James Brown thing at Superbrawl is I was listening to the radio on the way to school and they mentioned it.
This was interesting. An uncensored whatculture video... Nice.
Brad Armstrong was so underrated. Go back and look at his matches, he was the best wrestler in his family.
Oooohhh an uncensored episode of whatculture I like it!
Dog was originally in the Master Blasters with Kevin Nash. It is NOT George Steele, You got ribbed there.
I read every reply and I am astonished that so far no one has mentioned that George Steele wasn't The Dog!
I wasn't expecting that double f-bomb from Simon, hahaha
Isn't that Adam Blampied's dog Bingley?
#10 Not to mention Goldust also used the "Artist formerly known as" name.
Maybe I'm the only one...completely remember all of these dudes...
I'll always remember Prince Iaukea because he interrupted Jericho's 1004 holds promo.
I remember maestro, styles, the artist, reno, kid romeo,in short I remember the vast majority of this list. They are not as forgotten as they thought.
Who was the guy at 0:44?
I remember all these guys quite a bit
I was there for Maestro vs The Cat... and yes James Brown showing up was the best part and the only part I actually remember.
I remember all of these wrestlers/gimmicks except Buzzkill, Jason Jett, The Maestro, The Dog and The Machine
Anybody who actually watched WCW remembers all these guys
Kids, don't do drugs. Or you might confuse Al Green for George The Animal Steele! Wtf WhatCulture? 😂😂😂lmfao
Erik Hænes or become a mid to upper card wrestler from previous to 2008
Plus Steele was working as a road agent for the WWE at the time. SMH
Hah! Joke's on you! I remember all ten of them!
...
*weeps in a corner*
WhatCulture Wrestling should talk about the 10 wrestling storylines that were nixed before conclusion.
Interesting side note. I also used to wrestle under the name “The Machine”. My ring attire was totally different though. I wore pleather fetish wear when I wrestled. I got my gimmick from the Nick Cage movie “8mm”.
Please Please Please stop copying Wrestlelamias ideas and just go with your MORBID when they die videos
simon... the dog was famous 70s r&b singer al green who also was in the bands Wrecking Crew and Master Blasters (alongside famous musician/wrestler Graham "Kevin" Nash) ... get your facts right
should prolly do a bit of fact checking before releasing some videos.
If you are going to mock a company for their output, you should probably make sure your own facts are correct. Loads of people have already stated why your dog segment is wrong. Embarrassing. Plain embarrassing.
Jason Jett also had a few brief stints in TNA (oh sorry, Impact Wrestling) during it's NWATNA days as EZ Money
ELIX SKIPPER was ahead of his time...up there with Chris Daniels, Shane Helms, Kanyon
WCW they were the good old wrestling back in the day
I remember all of these. Try again.
Just FYI, The Dog wasn't George Steele. I think the guy's name was Al Green.
Kind of feel like WWE dropped the ball on Reno. Dude was a freaking beast in the ring.
I know who all these guys are/were other than buzzkill, Jason jet and I'm pretty sure George Steele isn't the dog, that guy looks nothing like him do remember him tho, great video tho :D Simon and jules are cool, the rest of whatculture has went the way of wcw in 2000...
That dog is cute and all,but he is no Bingley.
I think you gentlemen meant 10 WCW stars from the year 2000 you totally don't remember. WCW barely made it to March of 2001 .
Is it just me, or are they just randomly censoring things in these videos? Don’t get me wrong, more times than not these videos are gold but seriously. Simon said “fuck” more then once without bleeping it out in this video but then they censored that same word in text during that warning gag
