I always enjoy the new things that I have not seen before. Never had minced meat cake but my Mother use to make minced meat pies for Christmas. I always liked them.
Hi Mary. I do love mince pies too. I have several videos for them on the channel. I also have one for making mincemeat which is very good, and especially so for those who cannot buy it in the shops. Luckily in the UK mincemeat is available all year round.
@@geoffsbakingblog Oh yes so good. I would try to make one but no one in my house hold cares for them. That would leave it up to me to eat it and I don't think my hips could handle that. LoL
Looks beautiful Geoff...have to try that...need to get a couple more ingredients then I'll have a go... thank you for sharing your lovely video...God bless xx
Hi Teresa. That's great. I hope you enjoy it. I make it every year now. This year I have made two, so I can cut one into portions and freeze them to enjoy during the year.

Hi Pixie B, thanks very much. I hope you enjoy the cake. Thanks should go to the Blessed Delia as it is her recipe. I am looking forward to trying it next week. Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New year too. I hope to have more videos before both those events, but people will be too busy to watch them I expect.
Thank you for You! It was clear, and not difficult to follow said by a dane! Im going g to impress my english husband ! All though it’s not possible to buy mincemeat, looking on for finding the recipes! Have a safe Christmas!
Hi Lise Poulton. This is an easy cake and so delicious. Here is a link to my video for mincemeat. ruclips.net/video/MfU6LIG6ZSo/видео.html&feature=emb_logo&ab_channel=GeoffCooper
HI Raeschimmel. I was so pleased that I found this recipe on Delia's website last year. It is such a good cake, and is perfect for those who run out of time in the lead up to Christmas.
Hi Mary Mary. I made this last Christmas, instead of my more usual Christmas cake which takes weeks. This one can be made anytime before Christmas, even just the day before. Those who ate it said it was the best Christmas cake they ever had.
Thanks for the video. This looks really nice I am sure it will taste delicious with all those wonderful ingredients. Be sure to leave a piece by the fireplace for Santa Claus or whoever comes to your home to deliver the gifts.
HI Philip. No the mincemeat doesn't contain meat. It is a mixture of dried fruits, currants, raisins, sultanas, chopped mixed peel etc and some suet. Originally it would have contained sweet and savoury, including meat. But by about the mid 19th century the meat was being eliminated from mincemeat.
@@geoffsbakingblog Thanks Geoff! Sorry about misspelling your name above ;-) I figured about the "Mincemeat" I know there is Mince Pie that is also popular. The cake looks delicious!
Hi Valerie. You can use anything you like really. If you want alcohol rum is good. But so to is orange juice. You can just use water if you wish, or a combination of juice and water.

@@geoffsbakingblog Here it seems that it is during the holidays that you can find it. The pies also remind me of the raisin pies Mother would make.
@@marymauldin3229 It is nice to bring back memories from childhood. I bet the raisin pies were lovely.

Hi Thanks. I will leave a small piece for Santa Claus, he may not need it depending on how many houses he has already visited.
Jeff, Does the mincemeat used actually contain meat? or is it finely chopped raisins, currants etc?
