    This is my personal favorite yard drain right here. So you're dropping the water in the 6-in inlet basins and you're collecting all the sediment so you don't plug your pipe. The sediment traps are getting deeper because we have slope on the system we have nine Inlet basins total.

    I’ve learned so much over the two years watching your detailed videos. I’m planning to replace my backyard drains from 4 inch PVC to 3 inch corrugated pipe this spring. I wish there was a local company installing/selling your products in North Alabama. Thanks so much from a retired Infantry CSM.

    Thanks for the detailed video and what appears to be another great product. I’d like to run a double- barrel perforated (high octane) at the base of my trench as a french drain and then a yard drain (solid pipe with FDM catch basins) on top. All in the same trench. I’ve seen you do this in some videos prior to the release of the new basin and I love the concept. If I want to use the FDM catch basins along the line, how do I prevent bowing of the solid pipe between basins? It looks like the basin will sit a little too high if I just dropped it on top of the double barrel. I have some ideas but would love to know the recommended solution. Thank you!

    Hi after some advise if you could help. Your RUclips’s are great by the way too! I’m installing a French drain but want my geotextile to be 6inches deep so it won’t be broken when aerating. Would you suggest more stone on top of that before I add topsoil/turf. Worrying 6 inches of turf/topsoil will be too deep. Thanks in advance 👍🏼

    Robert the whole thing makes sense to me except the sump pump. My yard backs up to another person’s yard who is lower than me. I do have some grade to the yard. My neighbor, unfortunately sends a lot of water over from their house down my tree line against the left fence and over into the very bottom of the yard where I have a bog. My own downspouts go into a corrugated catch basin system, which takes it away from my house to the same area but I’ve just got too much water there. I think using your system of catch basins. I could probably install this summer beside my existing run or replace my existing run with lots of your catch basins, and that would catch their water as well. Can you do a detailed video about how the sump pump works and when I connect up the discharge pipe given someone is behind me, where would I be dispersing the water to? I am assuming it would be a surface pipe that would possibly be corrugated with holes to allow it to disperse out over a long run? For me that might be from the bog (lower left yard) running to the right, behind my shed all the way to the far right corner of my yard (which unfortunately is higher). This run is probably about 125 feet. Need help! I want to fix this mess and hope to convince my neighbor to do his part since he is sending over a lot of water into my property.

    If you don’t have a basement what type of drainage do you recommend for sitting water in the back yard where there a slope and the water is going towards the house? And what would be the average price to get the job done? Any recommendations on reputable companies in a Philadelphia that can do the job. Had one company come out and didn’t even recommend catch drains but French drain with a dry wall. But if the water sits on a straight level point the water just sits. I’m not a plumber but I would like think I need catch basins in certain areas

    What do you think about using catch basins in combination with a French drain to catch and direct large amounts of storm run off? We’ve had thunderstorm runoff threaten our house as it ran down the road next to our property. The ground absorbs water quickly in our area but run off can be a problem in big down pours. Our house and shop are adjacent to the gravel road so we don’t want to put in a big ditch as we would have to drive through the ditch to park… any ideas or video links would be appreciated. Thanks

    How many Slotted Dwells does your pipe have? For a narrow 60mm pipe is 130 per meter with 2 slots per dwell ok for laying pipe straight onto fabric?

    I am interested in your basins, but trying to find detailed videos of what I am trying to accomplish. For my situation, I need a yard drain, not a perforated pipe French drain. I want to use PVC pipe so I can run a snake through if I have to at some point to clear debris or tree roots or anything else. I want to run 2 gutter downspouts into the Yard Drain and maybe something to catch leaves. Also, want to run a yard drain on a separate pipe with 2 catch basins. Do you have detailed videos on connecting downspouts to your basins and connecting your Catch Basins to solid PVC piping? Also guidelines on how high to set the basins would be nice. Should they be exactly at ground dirt level or a little above.

    I currently have a river rock drainage area in my backyard that fills with water during heavy rain and runs along the side of my driveway into the street. If I install a perforated French drain line in this area how do I cap it at the end to empty into the street efficiently?

    • @mattsteindl
      @mattsteindl 2 месяца назад

      The previous owner had dug a small (6-12 inch wide) sloped pathway which runs down the side of the driveway but is not filled with stone or a drain. The water currently just runs naturally down the sloped dirt pathway into the street but not very efficiently.

    No doubt these are the best products on the market! Unrelated question I’d love to hear your answer: How can farmers get away with burying black corrugated pipe in the dirt with no aggregate in the trench for draining their fields? But if a homeowner attempts to do that, the pipe just gets clogged with dirt.

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  3 месяца назад +1

      The farm tile runs for miles. You pick up water throughout the pipe. Eventually, it's completely full, and it's discharging like a firehose. When you move that much water through a pipe, it's gonna flush any dirt right out the discharge.

      Because if you have a yard that flat, it's going to pool surface water. That's why this is a yard drain instead of a French drain.
