Huh, I never knew this before. Low key I wonder how Toby feels about megalo strike back being used as Chara’s theme. Personally I like to believe it is, also that Megalovania is Sans’ theme. It makes the most sense to me considering other characters in the game have different themes based on the context of their fight. Undyne has Battle Against a True Hero during her genocide fight and mettaton has Power of NEO. I guess it seems fitting sans would get a different theme too. Some would probably say that it doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t have any of his motifs in it. My rebuttal is that during his fight, sans’ personality is more or less entirely different. Also there’s that one little melody at the bridge of the undertale version of megalovania right before the guitar solo that kinda sounds like a sans motif.

It's sans that is fighting us. We are the boss now. We are the ones in control. Until Chara takes it back from us at the very end of the game. When Chara says "do you really think you are the one in control?" it's only a tactic that they're using to make us believe that we have never had control, when in fact, we do. All Chara is doing is striking back against us, as useless as it is. All they are doing is retaliate. That's why I believe Megalo Strike Back is one of Chara's song alongside Once Upon A Time/Undertale, (which Chara shares with Asriel) and Star. Megalo Strike Back is Chara striking back against a megalomaniac. It's not a battle song persay, just a song for retaliation.

Frisk would have a EXP mechanic that increases whenever you hit someone with your A button attacks. Your facial expression and LV changes as your EXP increases, and you do more damage and have more speed but also take more damage. Your weapons also change as your LV increases. If you live long enough to reach max LV, your clothes will now look like Chara's. The special attacks are unique in that they do not affect your EXP bar, as they do not actually damage the opponent directly. How these special attacks would even work, if you use enough ACT moves, it will stack up and they will become more vulnerable to MERCY. The ACT moves do deal knockback though so you can make some interesting combos with them. Hitting them with MERCY is like hitting them with Thwack, except it's based on number of ACT moves used on them instead of their %. MERCY is guaranteed at a certain number of ACT moves. The higher your LV, the lower the chance MERCY will work, even if you are at the number it is supposed to be guaranteed.

Chara kills the competition!

So heres a trailer idea. -the screen is black. -a red (unpixilated) slash Apears on screen -a bunch of (again, unpixilated) 9's appear everywhere shaking violently one at a time on screen, while a creepy sound is in the air. -it suddenly flickers to the silent black screen again, then cuts to the forest from kirby. -the livening tree (sorry, I forgot what his actual name was) is watching Kirby fight Meta Knight. -(after a while) in a close up on the tree, the same red slash Apears again, this time leaving a red line in between the trees face. -the tree begins to split and fall. When it dose, kirby and meta knight stop fighting and notice. -a shadow runs around kirby and meta knight. They look around and are on guard. -Then a red heart glows in the darkness. Meta knight notices the heart and begins to charge at it. -when he tries to slash the heart with his sword, the screen cuts to black again, the red slash apears again. Then it cuts to meta knight, who's sword is broken. -he falls to the ground, gets up and puts his dukes up. -the music begins to play. Then the red heart slowley dissapears, then we see the red glowing smile and eyes out in the darkness. -they charge out into the darkness and... "CHARA is filled with LOVE" (This used to be "strikes back" but the song is not actually from undertale)
Honestly if this was revealed I would laugh, but also be hyped as fuck because of how epic it would be aswell as how thematic it would be with the whole heroes and villains trope going on with the reveals but anyways, I imagine it going along the lines of: *smash revealed logo plays* Chara appears on screen. Chara: "Greetings, I am chara, your soul awaken me from death, and now I am....huh?" Frisk: walks foward toward chara and hand them something. *you give chara an invitation* Chara: "What is this?" *you tell chara that it's time to smash* Chara:"Ah, I see" Chara eye gleam in the dark as everything go dark before the screen is cut in two. frisk then jump into a cavern stage as they smile with [frisk mercy his enemys to battle] With alot of heavy and strong attack that do alot of damage but don't lunch you off basically mecying. [Hope and dreams starts playing] And then he has like a collection sistem and a level sistem that make them stronger the more attacks they land or something like that. Then change to chara once they reach level 20 or something, I don't know if this would works but I could see it that way.
Chara: Greetings. I am Chara. Thank you. Your power awakened me from death. Huh? An invitation? ... I see. We have been invited to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, partner. [Together we will eradicate the enemy! We are Frisk and Chara.] I think it would make sense for Frisk to use the various weapons in Undertale for their attacks, with their LV increasing as they deal damage and defeat enemies, and as their LV increases, their attacks deal more damage and have more knockback, until they reach LV 20 and look like Chara, then their next attack is guaranteed to kill. Then their LV resets to 1.

-Then a red heart glows in the darkness. Meta knight notices the heart and begins to charge at it.
-when he tries to slash the heart with his sword, the screen cuts to black again, the red slash apears again. Then it cuts to meta knight, who's sword is broken.
-he falls to the ground, gets up and puts his dukes up.
-the music begins to play. Then the red heart slowley dissapears, then we see the red glowing smile and eyes out in the darkness.
-they charge out into the darkness and...

Megalo Strike Back was already so good, and you just made it better.
Honestly if this was revealed I would laugh, but also be hyped as fuck because of how epic it would be aswell as how thematic it would be with the whole heroes and villains trope going on with the reveals but anyways, I imagine it going along the lines of:
*smash revealed logo plays*
Chara appears on screen.
Chara: "Greetings, I am chara, your soul awaken me from death, and now I am....huh?"
Frisk: walks foward toward chara and hand them something.
*you give chara an invitation*
Chara: "What is this?"
*you tell chara that it's time to smash*
Chara:"Ah, I see" Chara eye gleam in the dark as everything go dark before the screen is cut in two.
frisk then jump into a cavern stage as they smile with [frisk mercy his enemys to battle]
With alot of heavy and strong attack that do alot of damage but don't lunch you off basically mecying.
[Hope and dreams starts playing]
And then he has like a collection sistem and a level sistem that make them stronger the more attacks they land or something like that.
Then change to chara once they reach level 20 or something, I don't know if this would works but I could see it that way.

I think it would make sense for Frisk to use the various weapons in Undertale for their attacks, with their LV increasing as they deal damage and defeat enemies, and as their LV increases, their attacks deal more damage and have more knockback, until they reach LV 20 and look like Chara, then their next attack is guaranteed to kill. Then their LV resets to 1.
