My Dad grew up in Altoona, PA just up from the 24th St. bridge and showed me pics of what his house looked like before diesels. Can’t imagine how black the ground was after a decent rain back in those days or how he didn’t get lung cancer as he’s 86 years old.
N&S doing the "Hustle" ! Had a great friend from 7 mile. Was formerly the mayor of the village. Also, the "Old Left Hander" Joe Nuxall's, forgive my spelling, brother lived here. My friend introduced him to me in the 1990's.
More awesome train action with the bouncy bridge and a train going over it, steam locomotives at their best, some great DPU'S, the live action pets being amazing and the exciting slide shows thank you Jaw Tooth.🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
That was a fast mixed freight crossing the formerly bouncy bridge, which is now solid as a rock! That's a gorgeous area to film at, JT! Great catch! Thank you, JT. 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
There was a short, very fast mixed freight with steel beams and coil steel before a long, slow mixed freight that had just about everything and a mid-train DPU! Great catches ,JT! 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
THANK YOU!! No clue why, but I really enjoy it when you use the radar. Thanks again JT!! You do awesome videos, and I really appreciate your efforts. "Let God be your conductor"
You know it's hot when the bridge going over a creak and theirs no creak its dried out. And that truck has a big gun on his trailer salute to are Military cool stuff sun
Love the bouncy bridge update with the hoofin' action. That was one spiffy looking DPU, like it came right off the cleaning rack. The scene from Cass reminded me of my first time solo firing J. Neils Lumber Company Shay #5 back in '75 at IRM. It was the start of a busy Saturday pulling the caboose train and I had just put 30 lbs. of grease down the lenngth of the driveshaft. As we pulled off the coaling lead I set the lubricator to maximum and my engineer had the cylinder cocks open to prevent.hydo locking. Just then a gorgeous lady dressed in an 1800s long white dress and hat proceeds to set up a wooden glass plate camera. My engineer stopped and asked me to tell the lady that it might not be good to stand there when we went by and maybe she should shoot one of the later runs. I hopped down from the cab and mentioned to the lady that I had just lubed up the locomotive and told her what my engineer said. She accused me of thinking she was a bad photographer because she was a woman and that she knew exactly where and when she wanted to be and to stop bothering her or she would turn me in to the management. I started to protest and she started yelling at me. I walked back to the locomotive and told my engineer what happened and he just said " She's the boss!". So with the throttle and lubricator wide open we went by her in a cloud of steam, coal smoke, oil and grease at the blistering speed of 10 mph. I looked back out of the engineer side door to see what looked like a soaking wet Dalmation and man was she P.O.ed! She did turn us in to the board of directors but the President just told us to forget about it. Thanks for bringing back a great memory JT!
Hi JT At 7 mile Ohio the 2nd train, the DPU no.4654 🚂 looked brand new ,like it had just left the factory 🏭 paintwork shining with no dust or dirt on it at all. Underneath the bouncy bridge reminds me of the film ,The Fugitive, with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, when the freight train derails and Harrison Ford's character, Dr Kimble flees from the wreckage careering towards him and hides under a bridge. Take care
Fun watching norfy get dive bombed by the birds😂 must have a nest nearby. Awesome trains, speeding💨💨 stay cool my friend, enjoy the rest of your weekend Thanks!
Magnificent catches of the train passing through on the tiny bridge, i like it 5 stars. Watching the locomotive pulling many freight cats is absolutely crazy. The Norfolk Southern locomotive are really strong. The steam locomotives that uou made on a previous video were magnificent. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, JT, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
More JT magic, you spoil us armchair railfans! And that clip of the GE changing tracks was just fine! I do like a big GE starting from almost a dead stand. I was at a local station near me some years ago when Class 70 stopped for a crew change, one awesome start which I managed to video on my phone, which is on my Utube channel.
It still find it amazing how close you can get to the trains to film them, just awesome. I watched a video from the ex bouncy Bridge a while back now great to see it again it's still a cool Bridge. Those trains fly over it! Have a great Sunday JT & everyone ❤😊👍
The bouncy bridge😮! Fixed by popular demand lol engineer petition. I wonder if the engineers liked it before!? ..woahhh50 on that one! Omgosh a dpu flying byyyy!..oh gosh this one's slowwwwww😂 maybe 5mph ok maybe 15. I like the grain elevators track we had those here. Omgosh those steamer screamers!!! Well I guess the bouncy bridge can now be called the solid span is it no longer has that squeaky or clicky sound to it. That first train at 7 Mile was more of a Blow by than a run by. It was worthy of note in the consist were two Conrail Autoracks side by side and a bit later an AMGX drawbar connected set of old Detroit Edison aluminum cool cars. That flat side auto rack was like a movie marquee for that movie Lost In Space coming soon will a passing siding near you. Hopefully this oppressive Heat eases up in the next few days.
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, I like them, they're awesome, I already uploaded the video of mine, that has the CSX I131 with the KCSM4500, along with the UP locomotive, in both short and long video, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much and have a nice day.
Me too. I have a railroad line that I am trying to film right now that uses 1897 rail on their main track. The only problem is that I haven't been able to get a train on the line this year yet lol
23:00 Yeah, it's still quite oppressive. I attended a Celtic festival in southeastern PA yesterday, and you could wring my shirt out by the time I left. The heat is supposed to subside Monday.
Hey JT, I could’ve swore when you was on the other side of that bridge. When that second train come across and the lead engine hit the other side of the bridge side that you were standing on look like it came up but anyway, my friend another awesome video And you stay cool out there and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back my friend and we’ll see you on the next one
Thank you, Jaw Tooth, for taking us back to the former bouncy bridge in Somerville, Ohio and to 7 Mile, Ohio for some railfanning on 18 June 2024. It has been a while since we were at either of these locations. The second train over the bridge was going at track speed. You had a lot of railfan action in 7 Mile, Ohio with the four trains that passed. Is that grain elevator complex a functioning business or is it closed? The five Shay locomotives at the Cass Scenic Railroad were creating voluminous clouds of smoke. How to they manage to create all that smoke? (23 June 2024 at 2125 CDT)
It's actually cooled off here a little bit then what it was here, Brian. Just be careful while being outside, my friend. I can hardly stand the heat myself. Awesome job as always catching those trains.
Hey jaw tooth awesome trains . Glad to see bridge is fixed. Should put more supports middle. The one there seems tiny to support center. Cool Horn salute. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
Nice return Jawtooth! Got a horn salute! 35 sure looks fast on the bridge! Funny how the size of things make them look faster! 51 mph was really rolling! 👍
This was once the Pennsylvania Railroad's main line from Cincinnati to Chicago. The relationship of Carnegie with the PRR is interesting to read about.
Great video! My husband and I enjoy your videos. Tony Byrd my husband has a birthday Tuesday June 25th he’ll be 64 yrs old. Keep the Live action, coming and we’re waiting for more😁👏
Man I absolutely love the sound of those old locomotives blowing those whistles and it echoing off those mountains. I would love To go up there this fall when the leaves are turning and ride up to Bald Knob and back a see all of the colors and enjoy the ride. Thanks man for a great video.
There is still some bounce in that bridge. During the auto racks on the 2nd train, from other side bridge, the lighting was better and it can be seen the ties in the foreground are bouncing maybe 1 inch or so. ALSO if you set the playback speed to .25 the bounce can be seen better. If you then pause it, you can see the springs on many, but not all, those auto racks are compressed! so some are full of heavy new vehicles. Most of the springs we paused to look at for the 1st train where NOT compressed. Keep up the great vids!

Great video I love it. Imagine being an engineer for a intermodal train and go 60 to 75 mph that might be scary but it gets them to the destination faster
Them steam engines looked wicked with all the smoke coming out
Love that GE burble at 21:00! Awesome! Real headphone candy! So are the steam previews -- love the echo on those whistles!
Glad you liked it!
