I hope you guys didn’t get sick (again, Robert and hope Natalie stayed fine) from eating and drinking stuff from street vendors. I got sick all the time while I lived there and later I found out it was because of the lack of hygiene from food vendors and water contamination. I’ve been to Europe and didn’t get sick there.
Just got sick once on that trip from Panda Express haha. Yes and another thing with streets vendors is often the meat isn't refrigerated so another way to get sick, and water is big too. Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip to El Salvador, cheers

😂😂 the coleslaw they serve at most places is called “curtido” is basically a mix of pickled green cabbage, carrots, red and white onions and hot peppers to give it some spice lol I wish I had chance to actually show you guys around and explain things properly to you lol 😂 as a Canadian salvadoreña it would be a nice experience to share my culture and explain it properly lol

1:15 strawberries, pears, apples, etc are imported from the US as they don't grow in the tropics. You should see lower prices on citric fruits
On citric fruits and bananas the prices were cheap

Robert, I'm impressed with the Spanish you learned from Duolingo. I've been learning French on Duolingo. Natalie's Spanish is not bad either. I hope my French is as good as your Spanish. I'm taking my wife and kids to El Salvador this summer. Fisrt time to El Salvador for my kids. Keep making these great videos!

13:30 That green powdery stuff is called "alguashte", it's made out of a some seeds which I forgot what kind, but it's good with jicama and green mangoes, and the riped ones too, but it's also used in many other things, my favorite it's in atol shuco.

El centro historico used to be like that full of vendors and before you had to be extremely on guard and carefully going through those places. Some places you are visiting are not very touristic now, but I'm sure they will improve those parks. Also the green thing on the ice is call alguashte. It is made from pumpkin seed and people eats it with sour things such as mango verde, etc.
Ah I see, that makes sense. There are many beautiful places in Santa Ana and it is improving a lot. We loved it there and will always recommend people to go
1:09 Super Selectos is expensive AF!!! And not in all of them have the same items, for example, if there's one in a poor neighborhood, the product in that SS is going to be of lesser quality or high-end if you will, I know that because I went to about 5 last time I was there......Jan 2014.
Ah I see, that makes sense. The super selectos often were in malls or the more nicer areas. Often that is why they are more expensive.

9:18 Yeah, walking in San Salvador where I was, it was such a pain in the A! I too like to walk but 99.95% fo them are in terrible conditions, then again, trees grow so tall and the roots don't go straight down but spread out, ruining the sidewalk, but no, it's bad in a lot of places, so I understand.........
It is what it is, we just want to show the reality of what we see. But despite that, El Salvador is a wonderful country with amazing people who are so kind and welcoming.

2:21 oh yeah, that's the coco water I drink but, but, but........the price just jumped from 4:80 to $5:51 in a week, then again if I buy the water from a street bendor it's $1:50 and there's not enough in ONE coco to get 1,000ML, so you kinda end up paying with that bottle a little more but's the convenience of having everything in one bottle, not a plastic bag.

We didn't really complain about eating on the street, but objectively speaking, Natalie's slushi wasn't very good. But go ahead, make a video about BC and we will watch it, Canada definitely has lots of unfavorable places too
Bro, they just needed some time to get used to all the third world parasites we have down here. 😂....It's like those street dogs here....they can survive on pure garbage, but if you gave your own dog (which you take care of ) any of what the street mutts eat it will for sure get sick. And the side walks here are awful, I've hurt myself so many times cause of them. Regarless of all that, I would rather live here in El Salvador than that woke hell they call Canada. Don't get all offended cause these guys are being 100% honest and there's still alot of things we need to fix here...

The last time I was there was 25 years ago( I am one of those who had to leave the country due to crime) , and it's fun to see places and streets in the video that I was when I was young. By the way,the panes chucos mean dirty hot dogs😂 i don't know why,but we called them already that in the time of my youth 😅 . Thanks for the video😊👍

BUY A REAL COCONUT ON THE STREET IS WAY CHEAPER AND THE REAL THING. SUPER SELECTOS IS VERY EXPENSIVE. OR GO TO A LOCAL MARKET THEY HAVE COCONUT WATER FOR A FRACTION OF WHAT YOU WILL PAY AT SUPER SELECTOS.

I am surprised that you guys got away with recording inside the super markets thats a big no no and that slushy was just plain nasty, ice with hot sauce lemon juice salt and some other ingredients that dont belong on it was a perfect recipe for three hours of diarrhea.
