I really hope ALL beasts of the Mesozoic from this line are to scale with one another. I have no problem buying a scientifically accurate T. rex or Spinosaurus that's huge and crazy expensive!
Alonso Martínez I think the ceratopsians are going to be in 1/18th scale, at lease that's what I remember being said. The proceratopsians like psittacosaurus and protoceratops will be in 1/6th. I'm looking forward to what else what will come after the ceratopsians, I feel like David is going to possibly make tyrannosaurs but I have no way of knowing.
Those are not ankles. Dinosaurs walked strictly on toes, unlike humans. Actually, most animals walk on their toes instead of whole feet. So ankles are above the ground as long as the dinosaur isn't sitting, and seem to be second backward knees.
Yeah Spider Blue! My problem with these figs is that they CAN'T look down, the neck design blocks the head from moving down. Try it. Shame too cause these should be able to look down at their prey/food or any target below them.
That is a bummer. The not being able to stand on there own would of broke the deal with me. Cause i don't wanna have them fixed to a base all the time.
I got Spider-Blue almost entirely because of you. I hope you're happy. But I also just love the blue. Great video Dan! These things do look pretty cool, I wonder how many Dinos they'll branch out to.
I was sent here from the man himself, David Silva. You are so far the only youtube I have seen to review the linheraptor, an dc the video isn't to long. Looking forward to your thoughts.
Thanks for the video, dude. I liked it a lot and I'm super exited about this. Just FYI, 1/6th scale does NOT mean they are to scale with 6" figures. It means they are 6 times smaller than in real life and therefore are to scale with anything else that's 6 times smaller than in real life. In case of humans, these dinos are to scale with 12" figures. That's important to know (raptors in general were much smaller than depicted in the JP-JW universe)!
Actually the real velociraptor species v. Mongolensis and v. Omalaske the only difference being in the teeth and skull shape were only the size of a large dog
Jack Venom right. Watch the review again. Dan says they are perfect for your 6” and 7” figures, and even compares them to 6” figures. My whole point was that 6” figures are 1/12 scale, not 1/6 scale.
Raptors are turkey-sized. The actaul dinos that are supposed to be used for the JP book have what the author considered a hard name to read and constantly write, plus it didn't have a short version, so he insisted use the name of another similar Dino . and that's how raptors got famous instead of deinonychus. So these are 1/6 scale, these are in scale for 12inch figures. actual raptors are small
They're actually in scale with hot toys figures and other 12 inch ones. Jurassic park seriously exasperated the size of the raptors, though in their defence if the raptors were acurate in size they could have just drop kicked them and be done with.
The Jurassic Park raptors were based on Deinonychus because Crichton read a book that called Deinonychus a Velociraptor when he was writing it. The filmmakers went with that name because they thought it sounded cooler.
They're 1/6...but they fit in with 6" (1/12) figures?? They are 1/6th scale; they fit in with 1/6 scale figures. I have no idea where your head was continuously saying they're one size but then saying there another.😅 Funniest thing I've heard in a long time! And it's not like the public hasn't known velociraptors are the size of turkeys since the 90's. So yeah, say it with me..1/6 figures fit in with other 1/6 figures.
1/6 means they fit with hot toys figures. raptors were not as big as jurassic park/world makes them out to be. They were only a couple feet tall at the hip
I wonder how long it will take normal people who don't know about the feathers on dinosaurs to take them seriously in media. That's why Jurassic Park hasn't started making them feathered I assume.
If/when they make toys of the bigger therapods I hope they at least *tastefully* feather T. rex and the like. Maybe a bit of short fluffy down along the back, similar to the reconstructions of Davide Bonadonna? Just pls don't overdo it with a parakeet rex, those tiny arms look ridiculous when you put wings on them.
They're way too big to be 1/6th scale. There were dozens of types anywhere from chicken-size to 10-12 feet long, but the 3 listed on the boxes are nearly twice the size they should be. Jurassic Park kinda messed up the common idea of what a Velociraptor is since the book/movie versions are based on Deinonychus or Utahraptors. The standard Velociraptors seemed to max out around 6 feet long, but 1/3rd of that was tail & they really only stood about knee/thigh high. The Linheraptor & Balaur bondoc raptors were roughly the same size +/- a foot or so. For some raptors that could be 1/6th scale, but not the 3 species mentioned.
They are 1/6, like others have commented the 6 and 7 inch figures Dan used for comparison are closer to 1/12 scale. I believe he's still got the Jurassic World toys on his mind and is mistakenly thinking these are supposed to be that size of raptor.
Vraptor140 Yeah that threw me off quite a bit. 1/6 scale humans would be roughly 12 inch figures (assuming the average human is 6 feet tall), not the 5,6,7 inch figures he was comparing them to. If he accurately tried to compare the scale he'd have to bring out the giant 12" Masters of the Universe figures, i'd like to know what the raptors look like compared to them.
Your scaled are so wrong Dan, they are 1/6 scale with your 1 foot figures. Velociraptor was around 2 meters long and 3 feet tall, an average human is around 6 feet (1.83 meters). So these raptors will be just below your hips, nothing larger or smaller. Unless they made a 1/6 scale Utahraptor.
I can tell you what I’m saying I don’t want you in my car and you have to call him tomorrow at all and I am not sure what he can tell you if he wants me and he can meet you there if he is not going out tomorrow at the office and you have a meeting at five so we can meet at your place tomorrow morning
"Scientifically Accurate?" In name only, though, since these are more Artist Impression-style figures. Beautiful. Incredible, amazingly sculpted figures indeed! I do like them, and finally glad someone turned those Raptor wrists to the correct "sideways" for grabbing instead of the incorrect praying mantis forelimbs. With the exception on the 3-foot tall Velociraptor having bone indentions in the underside fore arm for primitive feathers (not like depicted here or seen in current birds). There is no fossil proof, skin impressions. or bone indentions showing any fluffy covering like this. They are sculpted in great detail, though. =P. We need a second run of the Beasts of the Mesozoic with "naked raptors" like the Jurassic Park/World versions, with these fixed wrists!
"With the exception on the 3-foot tall Velociraptor having bone indentions in the underside fore arm for primitive feathers (not like depicted here or seen in current birds). There is no fossil proof, skin impressions. or bone indentions showing any fluffy covering like this." What are you talking about? Dakotaraptor has the same indentations on it's arms meaning that it had feathers, and a raptor called Zhenyuanlong is fossilized with feathers around it's body. Not to mention all the smaller raptors like Microraptor with feather impressions. It's pretty safe to say that ALL raptors were feathered to some extent.
Not quite sure where you're getting the idea there's no proof of feathering in dromaeosaurs? As you said, _V. mongoliensis_ has bone indentations (informally called 'quill knobs') which were anchoring points for feathers. _Zhenyuanlong_ , another dromaeosaur (that is even in this model series), was found with traces of feathers all across the body and even preserved large wings, as observed in these models. Dinosaurs in the clade Microraptoria, such as _Changyuraptor_ and _Microraptor_ itself have detailed feather coverings known. There's tons of other maniraptorans that we have preserved feathers for too. These *are* scientifically accurate, and whilst we have no direct feather impressions for _Balaur_ or _Linheraptor_ , it's pretty easy to infer using phylogenetic bracketing that they would have had similar integument. The intent of the series was to promote scientific accuracy amongst the countless misleading dinosaur 'monster' toys on the market, so doing naked raptors would be going against the entire premise of the model kits :L
Hi, I'm the illustrator who worked on the first scientific illustration of Linheraptor with the palaeontologists who described the dinosaur (not the illustrations from this series, though the velociraptor is very similar to my linheraptor reconstruction). Preservation of feathers in the fossil record is difficult and often fragmentary. Palaeontologists use comparative anatomy and cladistics to determine whether traits are shared and generally assert dromaeosaurids had feathers based upon various lines of evidence. This isn't "100% proof" but with the evidence available it can be considered "scientifically accurate" until more evidence comes along.
+Mandalorian30 is showing figures of Velociraptor mongoliensis, Balaur bondoc, and Linheraptor exquisitus, not of Dakotaraptor, Zhenyuanlong, or Microraptor. Although Microraptor is one of the oldest (125 millions years ago), and Dakotaraptor is one of the youngest (66 millions years old) beasts of the Mesozoic era, this does not mean that all of them were feathered. You need to take into account the split of the family tree itself, time period, distance, and the climate each lived in.
Wow. I thought I'll never see the day when bipedal dinosaur toys had small feet. The coloring is based on actual birds and looks great.
I can't wait for the ceratopsian line!
The JurassicMan
Let's hope they make a Ceratopsian line!
No we need a trex
we really need both. also some sauropods. not sure they have had a good action figure since dino riders
I really hope ALL beasts of the Mesozoic from this line are to scale with one another. I have no problem buying a scientifically accurate T. rex or Spinosaurus that's huge and crazy expensive!

Digitigrade and Plantigrade are the words you're looking for.
Hey! I just ordered the velociraptor monogenesis 2nd release off of the creative beasts website do you know how long it takes for them to ship
I hope the people down at Creative Beasts will make a line of super articulated dragons because it sucks that we don't have any good dragon figures.
Creative beasts are thinkin about it
Boy do I have news for you!
Their Beasts of the Cyberzoic line coming out (approximately) next year will feature dragons!
@@ScrubLordKyle I saw the progress on Facebook.
those raptors are to scale for 12" figures
Yeah because the Jurassic world Raptors are way to big and real Raptors are only about 1.5 ft tall
@@traviscrumbey7969 3 ft tall actually.
Balaur bondoc is from Romania!!! It translates as Stocky Dragon. I will buy it for sure since it.s from my home country!!! Greetings from Romania!!
BAYEK NEKROS ce tare ! Eu de asta îl vreau pe ăla !

Loving the colors here. Each model stands out.
I got Spider-Blue almost entirely because of you. I hope you're happy.
But I also just love the blue. Great video Dan! These things do look pretty cool, I wonder how many Dinos they'll branch out to.
Its about time we got a really good raptor figure
OH MY GOD YOU HAVE THE LINHERAPTOR AND THE BALAUR MY FAVES!!!! I also LOVE the Acheroraptor!
1/6 scale is 12" scale not 6".... You know that Danny boy. These Raptors were the size of a turkey not the 6 foot versions from the movies.
I like how their colors are based off real birds. especially the lynhiraptor or however u spell it. it's based off the bee eater.
Heck yeah the return of spider-blue!!!
I can't help but feel getting an advertisement for a company that makes model kits and all that was more than just a coincidence.
I got a couple to go with my Mythic Legions. They fit right in with the fantasy figures.
But... they’re not fantasy
But there not fantasy
They are 1/6th scale or 12 inch scale.

Cool toys Dan
I'm not sure, but I love these feathered raptors.
Very cool. Hopefully they make more, including Triceratops &T Rexes in the same scale.
Guernicaman -- You have room for a 3ft tall T-Rex action figure?
If it's this cool-looking, I'll make room for it!
Ceratopsians are coming next.
1/18 tyrannosaur and cerotopsid lines are coming out.
Actually the real velociraptor species v. Mongolensis and v. Omalaske the only difference being in the teeth and skull shape were only the size of a large dog
Um, 1/12 scale. 1/6 scale are 12” figures. Typo on the packaging?
Velociraptor was 2 metres long, which is about what 6 feet?
They are twice the size they should be compared to a 1:12 scale figure.
Makes sense. Dan is incorrect in saying 1/6 scale is 6”, so his mistake. Surprised he doesn’t know his scales by now. 🤔

Been trying to buy one for years but I'm clueless as to how.
I'm glad to see other people realized this after reading through the comments section.
The velociraptor has the colour scheme of a bearded Vulture
Wow I got mine yesterday it was a dromaeosaurus love your videos I'm new to your Channel

Yeah, the ones in the movies were more like Utahraptors. Even my Dinosaur encyclopedia from the mid-80s has it all correct.
The Jurassic Park raptors were based on Deinonychus because Crichton read a book that called Deinonychus a Velociraptor when he was writing it. The filmmakers went with that name because they thought it sounded cooler.
*exaggerated not exasperated
Awsome Action Figure review
Can you do a video with the triceratops from Jurassic World ?
Dan....1/6 scale is 12 inch figures like the old GI Joe or Dragon . MOTU Classics and such are 1/12.
great content, great videos, followed by champion, greetings from Argentina! subcribed
Feathers! At last!
You forgot the tongue articulation and the fact that the tail can detach and peg into different hole for variation of tail angles
which is the most cheapest to buy?
