Although, walking with dinosaurs was what introduced me to Utahraptor; the two things that cemented this dinosaur into my memory was the 1996 book by Dom Lessem called “ RAPTORS!: THE NASTIEST DINOSAURS “, and the 2001 dinosaur hunting game “Primal Prey”
Familiar with a relatively new channel called BEASTOPIA? They just released their new animated video comparing the JP/JW Tyrannosaurus to what is known of a real one. They also say they will have a battle between the two and also seems like their next comparison will be Velociraptor.

A few interpretations of Utahraptor that I know of are: Kenner/Jurassic Park - To my knowledge, Utahraptor has appeared at least twice throughout the Jurassic Toy Line. The first time was in 1994, where Kenner released an Electronic Utahraptor figurine that was colored mostly Orange with Black Spots & a Cream-Colored Underbelly. The second time the Jurassic Toy Line featured Utahraptor was in 1997 (to coincide with The Lost World: Jurassic Park). It wasn't changed that much; just with darker colors & thicker stripes. Raptor Red (1995) - A novel, written by the Paleontologist: Robert T. Bakker, that chronicles the life of a Female Red-Snouted Utahraptor. While the book offers few illustrations, the RUclipsr/DeviantArtist Cody Lake has taken the liberty of animated some scenes from the novel. ( ruclips.net/video/iojfca5xmIo/видео.html) Safari Ltd. - Utahraptor was featured a few times as a Safari Ltd Figurine. In 1996, they made an adult & a hatchling. Both were featherless, slim and has a yellowish brown coloration with black stripes. In 2023, Safari Ltd made an updated Utahraptor figurine with feathers, bulky and a coloration of blue, black, white & yellow. Savage Quest (1996) - Utahraptor was featured as a enemy in this arcade game, Walking with Dinosaurs Franchise (1999) - While you already talked about its' inclusion in the documentary, Utahraptor has been featured throughout the franchise. Toyway made figurines of the creatures featured in the documentary & one of them was the Utahraptor. Utahraptor was also featured in the live show, Walking with Dinosaurs: The Live Experience/Arena Spectacular. Originally, the Utahraptor was portrayed as featherless but in future showing, they added feathers. Utahraptor is also set to appear in Season 2 of Walking with Dinosaurs in 2025. Dinotopia: Journey to Chandara (2007) - While not shown, Utahraptor is mentioned in this book as a barber in the city of Chandara. They utilize their toe claws to cut people's hair (a bit ironic seeing as Dromaeosaur toe claws were better at piercing/gripping rather than cutting).
That's been like a common trope in the Land Before Time franchise where many theropods have 2 fingers instead of 3, like the T-Rex. The Allosaurus, Deinonychus, Utahraptor and Spinosaurus. The Carnotaurus is good though.
The Jurassic World Evolution 2's design was the ENTIRE reason I bought that DLC pack. A shockingly good design. Honeslty a lot of the DLC animals knock it out of the park. Also Paleo Pines mentioned :D

See I thought Utahraptor was the only deinonychus that did NOT have feathers because of how it’s depicted in media! They almost never have feathers so I assumed they didn’t in real life so thanks for teaching me something new! Deinonychus’ really are just like large birds minus a beak which is so cool to see! Although they wouldn’t be making that roaring sound lol
Frontier Developments is really pushing for more accurate dinos in that game more than anything, I'd imagine they'd make a great dinosaur zoo game if PK wasn't doing that. Also! The reason Prehistoric Kingdom has a bunch of *older* images that are less accurate, is due to the fact they've had to redesign this game a few times. There were two waves of early beta builds with a lot of dinosaurs and very different models (one of which I played at PAX West). They had to rebuild them because of technical limitations, but this current build of the game is the *Final* version, and they should be adding a large number of creatures from that original roster over time. So those *were* in the game at some point.

My Favorite Dinosaur of all time is Ankylosaurus or Anodontosaurus. I love those chunky armored tanks. I even named my two turtles after them, Anky and Ano.
You should have mentioned the pronated wrists! The limp noodle “raptor hands” facing palm down would have been physically impossible for a dromeosaur, and in fact their wrists would have to be broken to face that way, and I see that in a lot of these old designs. When done correctly, raptor’s palms should face each other
Yes the ark raptor is their utahraptor. Helena walker’s dossier on them confirms it. Technically it’s called Utahraptor Prime, so it’s a genetically modified utahraptor and reason being is some Dinos in ark are modified for their environments. I love the other interpretations better for sure. I also want to add if and when ark 2 comes they’re shown to be fully feathered on the second trailer. And for sure that makes me happy bc Utahraptor is my favorite dinosaur and raptor of all time
Favourite dinosaur is such a tricky question. I think I have to say Styracosaurus, though that is recent to the last few years. Before that it was always just raptors. But I cannot pick which real world dromaeosaur to be my favourite.
Let it be known, the Velociraptors in the Jurassic franchise are not Utahraptor, they are Deinonychus, it’s literally impossible for them to be Utahraptor.
7:40 Scrooge McRaptor. Only needs the monocle and hat. 14:14 This one could fit right in to a street parade at Rio De Janeiró. Fun fact, Kenner made an electronic toy of Utahraptor for series 2 of their Jurassic Park toy line. It was basically just an upscaled orange Velociraptor with pinkish red eyes and had a leg kicking action as well as posable sickle claws.
I just want to say that the ARK interpretation is indeed utahraptor, Utahraptor Prime to be specific, raptor is only it's common name, and the model you were looking at is the outdated one, it was vastly improved with it's TLC. I'd love to give you a link to an image of the new one, but yt blocks links. The main things that changed are: It's sparse feathers acutally look like feathers, not pieces of plastic, it's wrists are sadly still broken but it's snout in my opinion looks more accurate, being a bit less rounded and *maybe* being a bit longer.
the ark raptor is actually utahraptor, if i remember correctly when the game first came out i remember seeing it was called utahraptor in game and then they changed it to just raptor, but it is still called utahraptor in the dossier
According to Dr. Jim Kirtland in the discovery channel version of walking with dinosaurs in the interview, he said that Utah raptor would’ve migrated to Scandinavia because North America and Europe. We’re both connected, but that’s not really the case.
The JoJo utah is quite literally the descendant of the villain dio Brando, Diego Brando who can no joke turn into a utah raptor to fight because JoJo. It even just has Dio all over because branding.
Tyrannosaurus rex is my favorite dinosaur but you could do media depictions of: -Diplodocus -Styracosaurus -Corythosaurus -Kentrosaurus -Argentinosaurus -Albertosaurus -Maiasaura
Hey man I love your vids, great job on this one. I was wondering if you ever seen an internet series called Weird Birds. It was a sorta ongoing found footage kinda thread someone did on twitter where dinosaurs started appearing all over the world and we get updates in the form of photos and recording taken by a poor guy in the middle of this. I recommend it as it makes the animals feel like animals but also very scary as they probably would be. I would be interested in hearing your opinion on the creature designs and the story as a whole. Looking forward to whatever your next video is, keep it up and have a great day. Edit: Had it as Stange Birds, it's actually called Weird Birds.
I honestly can't say which dinosaur is my all time favorite because I have so many favorites that I would have a long list of them, so I think I'll just say that I like most, if not all, dinosaurs I've seen from different forms of media.
It's funny how velociraptor - small, thin predator, often gets depicted as a bulky, 6 feet monster - yet utahraptor, real bulky raptor, gets depicted as a slim, agile predator with a thin snout 😂
My current favorite dinosaur is Timurlengia. But I really love Utahraptor! Love the list. PRIMEVAL: NEW WORLD’s raptor was great and nice to see when we only saw like 3 types of raptors in the og show. I was also wondering if you saw La Brea’s Spinosaurus? It’s like modern Spinosaurus reconstructions but with modern Jurassic sensibilities.
Funnily enough, the Utahraptor in ZT2, weighs over 2,200lbs - despite being as big as the T-Rex. Also, I forgot to mention earlier, but Utahraptor does appear in Jurassic: The Hunted as mini-bosses. 😁
We've got to get you on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! Deigo's Scary Monsters doesn't show up until part 7 so you've got plenty of good stuff to catch up on
Can you make a video about the dinosaur figures you on those shelfs in the back? Also 28:50, my favorite dinosaur in Styracosaurus cuz the big ahh nose horn
When I was a kid, I always saw for some reason the Utah raptor from walking with dinosaurs has feathers with the black tips on its body or whatever, but no it’s not even close
would say that raptors lived for long thousands of years in many corners of world, so they would be booth feathers and scalles. But they would never be feathers and scalles together.
My favorite is Acrocanthosaurus, especially in gaming, and whenevr an acro is made they sound absolutely sick, like with arks or the absentia acro is path of titans, i also have what i think, is an acro foot print that i found in Texas
After really taking some time to think about it, I must say my favorite dinosaur is narrowed down to 2. For herbivores it's Iguanadon. For carnivores it's Saurophaganax.
Do the JP Velociraptors count? Like they are supposed to be based more on Deinonychus but a little bigger to make them scarier and to make it a little easier for the the people to fit in the suites. And for sure that makes me happy bc Utahraptor is my favorite dinosaur and raptor of all time
Helena Walker classified Ark's raptor as Utahraptor prime, so it deserves its spot on this list
Searched for this comment 😂 so i was not the only one who wrote this comment
In Jurassic world the game, if you click on the evolutions tab you can see all past iterations of the dinosaur
You should check Fossil Fighters designs too. Is called U-Raptor in those games.
I don’t know if I just missed it, but there is also Utahraptors in the game The Hunter Primal
The JoJo utah is quite literally the descendant of the villain dio Brando, Diego Brando who can no joke turn into a utah raptor to fight because JoJo. It even just has Dio all over because branding.
Somehow with the right color patterns, the Albertosaurus from JWE reminds me of WWD's Utahraptor.
Very good channel im proud pf you
I always enjoyed the big dromaeosaurs and Utahraptor is no exception
Tyrannosaurus rex is my favorite dinosaur but you could do media depictions of:
-Diplodocus
-Styracosaurus
-Corythosaurus
-Kentrosaurus
-Argentinosaurus
-Albertosaurus
-Maiasaura
My favorite dinosaur is the Parasaurolophus. I think hadrosaurs in general are super underrated and interesting
Chase this dinosaur chase that dinosaur, u think we couldnt act.
Wwd is iconic but i love the accurate one more.
I honestly can't say which dinosaur is my all time favorite because I have so many favorites that I would have a long list of them, so I think I'll just say that I like most, if not all, dinosaurs I've seen from different forms of media.
I’ve heard that The Isle changed the Utahraptor’s name because they’re supposedly making a more accurate version.
The raptor from ark is indeed a utah look at his dossier !!!
My (current) favorite dinosaur is saurophaganax, wish it can be proved valid some day and get more media depiction
My favorite dromeosaur species I hope one day I can get a claw replica of this magnificent theropod
Deigo's Scary Monsters doesn't show up until part 7 so you've got plenty of good stuff to catch up on
I like to think theres a Utahraptor out there that looks like Ambrose Burnsides. The Union general from the civil war
Can you make a video about the dinosaur figures you on those shelfs in the back?
Also 28:50, my favorite dinosaur in Styracosaurus cuz the big ahh nose horn
my favorite dinosaur was t-rex for a very long while, but it has now been replaced by sarahsaurus, mainly because my best friend is named sarah lol
Btw, the ark raptor is actually called utahraptor in its dossier
My favorite is Acrocanthosaurus, especially in gaming, and whenevr an acro is made they sound absolutely sick, like with arks or the absentia acro is path of titans, i also have what i think, is an acro foot print that i found in Texas
What does this has to do with utahraptor
@@MePlayMiniWorld he said "comment your favorite dino"
Could you do a video on Microraptor in media please they are pretty wide spread in shows and documentaries.
After really taking some time to think about it, I must say my favorite dinosaur is narrowed down to 2. For herbivores it's Iguanadon. For carnivores it's Saurophaganax.
The og carnivore for old windows was all red and black stripes as big as the player and fast
Personally, I like the Raptor Red interpretation of utahraptors based on images of the novel I've seen.
I love the Utahraptor from Primeval New World
Do the JP Velociraptors count? Like they are supposed to be based more on Deinonychus but a little bigger to make them scarier and to make it a little easier for the the people to fit in the suites.
Tho it's still a pretty interesting coincidence that around the time of the first Jurassic Park movie, a Giant Sized Dromaeosaur was discovered and was actually Bigger than the Exaggerated Movie Monster
Can we get a video on diplodocus, they are my favorite😭🙏
17:42 Yes it is an utharaptor but it is the old one, they improved it some time ago
