    Good video... appreciate the absence of background music. The non-scripted dialogue is a welcome change. Well done. About the bike, wow. Gotta give it to Harley for this one. I have been looking at moving to a bagger and the Street Glide has been the bike of choice until now. I would like to see HD announce or make public the aftermarket parts & accessories plans. A two up option, regardless of the wrenching to go back and forth, would be nice for consideration. I've heard that there is no locking gas cap. Has anyone else heard this?

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for your comment. This video went well for us also. It was great for Bob and I to be able to go over the bike outside and also have Sean's expertise. As far as two up configurations, it can certainly be done. It's nice that Harley has already made accessory packages in their configurator online. As for the locking gas caps I'm not sure. Personally, I'd rather go without; although that may be an issue for some.

      @@rolandjosef7961 The only reason I'd consider this HD is that it is the only one that wouldn't need many thousands of dollars it "upgrades" to be good. For me, it would need only a larger windshield and passenger \ luggage accommodations. It would not need the major expenses of engine stage mods, suspension, bars, LED lighting and the smaller parts like grips, covers and bling.

    Love it, I just purchased 24 CVO RG in Legendary Orange from Suburban HD outside of Milwaukee. As excited as I am about that, I really like what Harley has done for the new RG/SG. Why, Because I think Harley is giving the masses a great value with new fairings, tanks, bags, infotainment, LED lights, liquid cooled 117's, etc. Upper $20K to lower $30K. Yes that's still a lot of money, but I hope it attracts the younger crowds Harley needs to continue to grow the brand.

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  4 месяца назад +1

      Well said. Its good that they're following the market and trying to appeal to a younger crowd without abandoning the older generations. It's no mystery Harley is hurting by the fact my generation isn't into motorcycles and expensive ones at that. They have to adapt to survive.

    • @DanielA23
      @DanielA23 2 месяца назад

      Upper 20K to Lower 30K is what this CVO ST should be. Adding an infotainment and some LED lights doesnt make it worth more or more appealing at that price point IMO. It just brings it closer to where it should have been years ago technology wise.

  • @DanielA23
    @DanielA23 2 месяца назад

    I was excited about this bike and have been waiting for HD to come out with something like this. Coming from a modified Vrod I wanted performance in my bagger. HD as usual though missed the mark in a few areas. First and foremost its a bagger. That generally means passenger at some point. Sure the carbon tail piece looks cool but not having an option for a rear seat at all is just stupid IMO. Those shocks do not prevent a passenger seat as many baggers have those same shocks installed without issue. It is missing some tech that other bikes like BMWs K1600b have and is almost double the price of them but could be overlooked if HD didnt price this thing like it was and SUV. For $43k+ I would expect at least Heated seats, heated grips, Carbon wheels. I almost bought a Challenger last year fully loaded with Stage 2 cams for less than this new CVO ST but Indian wanted a bunch of money down and the wait was 6+ months so I decided to wait to see what HD would do. Had the price been in line with the K1600b or even close I would have probably purchased this, I ended up with a 2023 K1600b Option 719 Midnight for 28K out the door and they even threw in a $600+ Backrest and over $600 service for free. Bike had 7 miles on it. I now have heated seats for me and passenger, electronic adjustable suspension and windscreen, 160HP and 131lbft of torque , quick shifter, LED Headlight that follows in the corners and adjusts up and down under hard acceleration and braking for about half the price of that CVO ST. I do like HDs controls a lot better though, more buttons vs having stuff buried in menus.

      You have some valid points. The K1600b is a great bike, enjoy it!

  • @traeucity6087

    I think this is an extremely attractive bike. In fact, it is so appealing to me, I was not deterred by the $50k price tag; even though I can't understand it? In the days when Harley Davidson was the only player in town, I would have held my nose and signed the papers. But it's a different time and Harley Davidson is no longer the only player in town. I can't pony up 50 Grand for this beautiful machine, when Indian has an equally equipped, equally appealing machine, the Challenger Elite, that goes for $10k less. Furthermore, I think if it wasn't for Indian, Harley-Davidson would never have made the improvements they have.

    • @3_AM
      @3_AM  2 месяца назад +1

      I agree 100%, when we were all on our Victory's we always told people that completion is always good for the consumer. It forced Harley to step up their game. A decade ago, before the Rushmore improvement, Harley was very stagnant. 50k is crazy, but people are still buying them. I suppose its no different then new pick up trucks being 80k.

    • @seeda3473

No resivores! He had switched left and right side shocks so the plumbing was facing rearward and mounted resivores to rear subframe so 2 up seat worked for he and his wife. Genius!! He should be a lead designer for Harley. No matter how much Harley wants to cram performance baggers down our collective throats it's not what the vast majority wants! @staceycole6465 4 месяца назад

      @@GregG_88 Hey GregG that's what caught my eye on Mike and his wife's bike to begin with. His swapping left to right and right to left so the plumbing for resivores was pointing the rear was genius. One existing hole on rear subframe was used and he drilled second hole to mount. No clearance issues, it all fit perfectly. His set up allows for 2 up seat, backrest and/or tour pack. If you're determined to have resivores visible because you paid and you want all to see..so be it. The performance bagger is still a bagger. Most folks that can afford it aren't doing any track time soon. Want the performance and still take wifey to the weekend rally.

    It is both a hit and a miss. They built a bike that lots of us "dyna bros" have been asking for, but they priced way too high. My local HD Dealer here is asking $55,000 for this bike, because they can. For 55 grand I can build me a Dyna or FXR that will blow this thing out of the water, or I could but a Indian Challenger and do some engine work and blow it out of the water. Love the bike but Harley priced it out of the reach for the average blue collar worker. Most of their bikes are priced out of range of us blue collar workers.
