the hulk, also known as bruce banner, is a superhero appearing in american comic books published by marvel comics and now in a rap battle against victor frankenstein. created by writer stan lee and artist jack kirbY yes it is that letter i mean what that is the incredible hulk also known as bruce banner.
following his accidental exposure to gamma rays while saving the life of rick jones and he got a cousin called shehulk / she-hulk during the detonation of an experimental bomb, banner is physically transformed into the hulk when subjected to emotional stress hulk vs frankenstein is this battle. it is later revealed banner's did formed from being abused by his father brian as a child and that the alter egos known as fixit and the devil/immortal hulk originally manifested during his childhood,
lee stated that the hulk's creation was inspired by a combination of frankenstein and dr. jekyll and mr. hyde. although the hulk's coloration has varied throughout the character's publication history, the most usual color is green. he is one of the most iconic characters in popular culture then by eric bana in the film hulk. in the marvel cinematic universe, avengers here, the mcu, the character was first portrayed by edward norton in the film the incredible hulk and then by mark ruffalo in the avengers iron man 3 avengers and then avengers: endgame. now leading up to this rap battle.
frankenstein or the modern prometheus also known as victor frankenstein who created frankensteins monster is an 1818 novel written by english author mary shelley. frankenstein tells the story of victor frankenstein who now rap battles bruce banner also known as the hulk.
through victor frankenstein is infused with elements of the gothic novel and the romantic movement he created the monster in his lab and then brian aldiss has argued for regarding it as the first true science-fiction story. in contrast to previous stories with working with igor fantastical elements resembling those of later science fiction and "turns to modern experiments in the laboratory" to achieve fantastic results. the novel has had a considerable influence on literature and on popular culture; it has spawned a complete genre of horror stories, films, and plays.

To be fair it seems to be a mix if book and movie versions of the minster though i cant say for certain consdering ive never actually read the books but it seems ti refrnce book versions of certain things in the storie but use the movie desgine of the monster

The more I listen to this battle, the more I start to question who really won:
"She ain't alive" is a weak end to what was building to a strong start, especially when "It's alive" comes later in the battle. It almost seems unnecessary to include it when the actual line gets said in his second verse/the monster's verse.
The following part about using Banner's parents to make a new creation was almost great until he mentions his students. Victor Frankenstein was never a teacher nor was he actually a doctor (as Bruce will point out in his first verse, Victor dropped out to create his monster). He's only called Dr. Frankenstein to keep up the dramatic effects of the book, no other reason. Also "gamma to this beta" is such a cheap line but it's still better than the "Ace in the lab, acid, base, and treble" line from ERB.
Moving onto Bruce's verse, it's fairly solid throughout and pokes holes in a lot of Victor as a character and a rapper which anyone who has read the novel would hope to be addressed. The line at the end about Victor's sister is a very interesting one because in the original, Elizabeth is in fact his blood cousin. However, in later versions, she was changed to an adopted sister. This makes Victor's punch about She-Hulk seem weaker considering he originally *married* his own cousin. Also, every single Hulk related media has made the Hulk and She-Hulk sex joke. Weakest line in the battle.
"Self-loathing recluse" is also a weak jab for the sole reason that Victor Frankenstein LOCKED HIMSELF AWAY FOR 2 YEARS TO MAKE HIS MONSTER. Like yes, Bruce keeps himself away from others to avoid Hulk hurting others, but Victor's hiding actively caused the monster to kill in search of him. On top of this, the Edward Norton line only hits hard if depending on the version of Norton's story you want to believe. He's said he wanted to do "more diverse roles", "wanted to do a two movie series with The Hulk but Marvel didn't agree", and "did everything he felt he could with the character" all within the same 7 year span. What actually happened was he kept changing the script and direction of the movie to the point he was frustrating to work with so Marvel cut him and casted Mark Ruffalo (the 2008 Hulk's director's original Hulk choice) from there. Another failed verse from Victor.
So, this one is just my nitpicking, but the monsterous Frankenstein that is common place in media bothers me to no end. In the original book, the monster is actually quite handsome with the only "horrifying" characteristics being the height and yellow eyes. That's right, Frankstein's monster is actually supposed to be more Fabio than fugly but the first movie didn't like that. "Society's mad cause I'm built different" -- No, society pretty much did not know you existed outside of Victor. There was that one blind lady, but other than that, you literally existed to no one else. The murders the monster did always ended up being blamed on someone else since Victor never once spoke up about what he did to save his own ass. God, Victor Frankenstein was horrible.
Hulk's verse starts off great with the transition from Banner to Hulk then falls apart from there. "Bride turn to ghost cause monster face is creepy" - Not sure if this is directed at Elizabeth who the monster strangled or the wife he wanted Victor to build that got scrapped to avoid having monster babies. The Frankenweenie line is...okay? Not much from there aside from a reference to a bad movie. From there it picks back up with the Easter Island line and coasts through well as a nice end to an up and down battle that really looks more one sided the more you watch. Bruce won with a single round because Victor only had one real solid line in the entire battle which was saying the success came from a "Printing Error".
The bride turning to ghost thing was a reference to a movie about the monster where they make a bride for him and she is frightened of his appearance and "ghosts" him.
Now this, this is what ERB should've done!

Hulk is a VERY hard character to make a rapper of, especially since most people try just to pitch deeper the voice but that was pretty good while also staying in character.
As a Hulk fan it makes me happy to see Bruce and Hulk be given real justice in this fight
Ya, for real, the last line Hulk gave in his broken Hulk English was one of if not the best bars of the battle.
I love how Hulk and Frankenstein were drawn, after being water down by pop culture for so long, it's nice to see them portray as actual monsters again

You may not see this as I’m very late but this was one of your best animated battles yet. Every verse felt like a massacre and had little to no weak spots. Both Hulk’s and Frankenstein’s verses were made well and didn’t come of as cringey.
To be honest I’m still struggling to decide who won!
Honestly that 2nd Verse went absolute RAW with emotion on Frank's part, especially with his iconic "ITS! A! LIIIIIVE!!"
Ultimately I don't even know who wins this one.

Amazingly well done! The animation has also really stepped up, it's noticeably exceptional in this battle, maybe because of how smooth the lines are!
One of my favorite details of this fight is the fact that The Creature and Victor share a voice actor. It just fits perfectly, even unintentionally, as both of them blame the other for their spirals into villainy but ultimately are just as bad of monsters as they accuse the other of, like how Hulk and Bruce often come to blows but are ultimately the same person at the end of the day. This rap battle in general is probably the best one this year, which says a hell of a lot. Happy Halloween, Freshy, and thanks for the treat!
Also, notice how the Monster has two voice actors, which is fitting for a character literally made from parts of different people
I think it kind of hurts the battle. I can hear the same guy in both, not in a positive way. It's not like Victor used his own voice cords for the creature

@@maskai3408 Did I say otherwise? Lmao, FK gives a distinct voice in both performances. He plays a more mad scientist voice for victor and a straight up deep monster voice for the Monster. Frankenstein’s monster as well having a 2nd VA layered on top of him, making it a easily recognizably different voice while still keeping a few similarities, which moreso adds to the thematic nature of the relation between Victor and his creation, and not some dumb literal connection. It is very dumb to say “oh well this actually hurts the battle cause ehrm Victor never gave his vocal cords to the monster” regardless though because the battle is not trying to say this it’s just a fun little battle where someone played two fucking characters bro.
This dude never disappoints! Excellent portrayal of both characters and that editing is on point! A lot of beautifully subtle details that make this a work of art as well as lyrical masterpiece.

Seriously, the art style was refreshing to see Hulk drawn as the savage version. Frankenstein's Monster was cool too. I like how he just jumped up table immediately started rapping like 500 words per second!! Hahaha... You guys put a smile on an older guys face, and he definitely needed that.
Lastly, I don't know who mr. Tibbs is, but he has some serious voice talent. I've never heard anyone nail "Hulk Smash!" like Mr. Tibbs did.

Something I think nobody has noticed so far is that when the characters cross the boundary they turn either black and white or in color.
A good example is 2:52, you could've just kept Hulk green and you put the extra effort in

probably my favorite battle yet, huge fan of both marvel and classic horror movies, with frankenstein being up there, if not my favorite of the classics. everybody did amazing in this battle, victor (freshy kanal) delivered some hard bars in the first verse then banner (eric) came out with some of the hardest punches in the history of the channel yet and it gets even better. frankenstein (fightmarker) delivered one of the most ear candy verses yet in this series only to be absolutely stomped by hulk (mr tibbs). 10/10 I've been looping this for the last day.

WE FINALLY HAVE A BATTLE THAT ISNT ONE SIDED!!!!! But in all seriousness Bruce BY FAR took the 1st round, he is literally a chemist so breaking him down on a molecular level and psychologically fits and it was definitely the hardest verse in the battle. But the 2nd round is where things get interesting. Victor has some good lines on his own, but it was the monster who really shined on that verse, talking to Bruce's soul and stripping him of his love life. (And we all knew they were gonna mention She-Hulk before we clicked on it). Hulk's transformation we all knew was coming, it was cool in all but it didn't hit as hard as Frank's 2nd. So Bruce gets the 1st, and Frank gets the 2nd, but because he broke him down psychologically (and because the verse was a bit longer), I give the battle to Hulk.

From Frankenstein's absurdly good first round that I think he was scheming in the whole verse, to Bruce's extreme flow, dissecting his adventure, and "you're the one they confuse as monstrous" to Frankenstein's extremely hype "IT'S ALIVE" and the Monster's opening lines to Hulk's "Bride turn to ghost cause monster face is creepy, Hulk can't control rage, you can't control Frankenweenie" to Hulk's "sad, Monster have two hearts but nobody to share with," and the amazing voicework and animation on all fronts, Frankenstein in particular, it's an amazing, powerful battle, and I cannot decide a winner. If I was forced, I would choose Frankenstein and his Monster due to the great representation of the story (someone's been watching Wendigoon) and the sheer hype, but this is one of the closest rap battles I've ever seen.
This is really top tier production quality. I can see that Freshy really has dedication and love for his craft

Victors first verse was pretty good, although Adam Frankenstein helped him with his second verse.
Edit: I know Frankenstein is Victor's last name but it's also technically the Monsters first and last name depending on what you look up as in the original book Frankenstein technically calls himself Adam, and a stage play has Victor give his monster his last name.

This with out a doubt the best of CyanCoat's work and the best battle animation wise. I've yet to decide who won yet but I'm leaning slightly towards Dr. Frankenstein.

Insane animation! Off of first listen, I feel like Banner won, but I’ll see how my opinion changes after I listen and research the lines I didn’t get. In the meantime… Great battle! You really did the Hulk the justice that ERB didn’t :)
Might just be my favorite battle from you this year. Easy BOTY contender imo. As a massive fan of the universal monsters (and the original Frankenstein novel), you potrayed the doctor and the monster perfectly. That "it's alive!" scream might be the hypest moment from this channel period, and does the iconic quote justice. Good work :D
This started a Halloween Freshy rap battle marathon for me yesterday. Freddy vs Pennywise, Coraline vs Alice, Matilda vs Eleven, this one is the best tho. Frankenstein is my favorite classic scifi/horror novel and this entire thing slapped. Thanks for the cool videos. Happy Halloween.

IMO Victor Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s Monster took the win. Verse Two was EXTRA HARD, even going as far as to immediately providing a rebuttal to the last line. Overall, there’s more one can diss about Bruce Banner/Hulk and it was diverse. Even if the Hulk came with some good stuff in the second round, I don’t think it was enough to truly recover from the barrage of disses from the BEST verse (in my opinion) the battle had. But oh well, an opinion’s an opinion, and I think the viewers are geared to whoever gets the final verse during the first watch because it gives them their final impression. Still, I cannot believe that Bruce Banner/Hulk got the majority of the votes (and roughly three-quarters of the votes at that), though at least most of the voters I’ve seen in the comment section had objective reasoning and weren’t simply Marvel/Hulk biased. Still, the hardest consistent punches came from Frankenstein and his monster.
Hulk had more lines than in ERB! Awesome!

I love how there is both a line claiming that Viktor has less of a heart than Iron Man, and then Hulk's finisher is pointing out his monster's two hearts. Most of all, how both lines treat heart at once as a literal thing - Iron Man's heart was actively poisoned and decaying until he stabalized it, while the monster does have two hearts - and as a symbol, though in one case for kindness commenting on Viktor's cruelty and in the other denoting love, and the monster's inability to find it. Maybe that one's obvious, I just noticed it on my tenth or so listen and thought it was neat. Also, could be read as a way of showcasing that, if unexpressive, Hulk isn't actually unintelligent, his brain just doesn't work the same as Bruce's, but he definitely retains enough wit to draw a parallel to Bruce's earlier verse.
