The thing is, Monero is KYC Compliant thanks to view keys. What the government actually doesn't like is not knowing what happened to that Monero once it leaves the wallet it was sent to, Or even knowing if it has even moved from that wallet. It's absolutely no different to the government's visibility when you withdraw cash from an ATM. The bank's done their part, done the KYC, and logged that it was given to you. These exchanges have no need to delist Monero, as they are keeping the same kinds of books that a bank would for cash withdrawals. The government's just acting like a protection racket, rocking up to these exchanges and going. "Hey this is a nice establishment that you've got here, It would be a shame if something happened to it... Maybe that won't happen if you pay up and do something for us."
That makes a lot of sense man, and I never knew that about the view key, thanks much for that explanation. I've been extremely interested in Monero's progress for a year now and really gotten interested the last couple months, needles to say was a blow to watch it drop 30% over the delisting announcement, which I completely think is a bad move. The concept to me is the best one in crypto circles of all of them I've checked out, a dozen or so. Thanks for the video too, by the way, to the crypto girl 😉

Yes... I lost my XMR because of a drive failure. Someone else lost theirs in a terrible boating accident. Such a shame.
