Always appreciate more RK3588 related content. Such a good chipset but the development scene just isn’t quite there yet.
Seems to be the case with almost every non-RasPi SBC. Hardware is great, software/drivers are often thrown over the fence by the manufacturer before they move on to the next SBC.
Thanks Lee for another great Orange Pi video and almost getting “Fortnite” running…another game I hope my upcoming Steam Deck can run it.
Great to see that the community is improving the RK3588 platforms…now if they could improve my playing of the games…😮!

I dream of more Orange Pi Zero 2w news! It costs nothing, extremely tiny and powerful. I use it bi-daily for streaming/watching at 720p, but I dreams of getting it to run Batocera!

Great video Lee, I kind of expected fortnite to run well on this sbc.. but it just seems to kick you out. Kind of disappointed to be honest. Addition to the errors of netflix playback on this android tv edition I dont think this operating system is viable for the online streaming platforms..
By the way, Lee, I have updated crimson OS with a few minor changes for the raspberry pi models - its still auburn autumn release and will continue till next raspberry Pi os release. Is your schedule free to review it? It really would mean alot.. shall i write an email with the updated links to u?

didndt know fortnite had other modes besides battle royal. but i''ve never played it. seems boring to me. just anopther multiplayer game. prefer singleplayer.

It looks like Fortnite has their own-way to detect root(magisk hide & Magisk Core Only mode may required)/invalid model(build.prop).
What’s the best small chip set up for Fortnite then?
I haven’t found any with official support, maybe an Nvidia shield

maybe You need to spoof the device Model/Manufacturer/etc in build.prop(reboot required), Magisk Hide, 'Magisk Core Only Mode', then remove the app and reinstall it to play Fortnite.

Cople a years ago raspberry pi turns his back towards his loyal buyers and gave priority to the business part. I always loved the raspberry pi, but not anymore because of that. Now i've got an i5 (Core I5 8500T) micro Dell Optiplex which uses 20 watts at most and idle around 7 watt, at sleep 0,6 watt. It demolisch the raspberry pi and orange pi with ease and they are sold for around € 100 (85 ponds) 2nd hand
if only it was that easy in real life to become a developer.

Do you think Fortnite will run on the pi 5?
The open gl version is too old. I showed the error at the end of the video. It won’t let you install it. I think it would run if I could install it but we would get the same unsupported error
