Pain in general IS REAL. One random Tuesday when I was 16, all of a sudden i got hit with such intense abdominal pain I actually passed out on my way to the bathroom at my grandma’s house and after she rushed me to the hospital, it turned out I had a cantaloupe sized cyst that twisted off the blood supply to my ovary (ovarian torsion). The pain was horrendous, it was like literal torture, and they gave me NOTHING for pain in the 4-5 hours before surgery! Then after being sliced open from hip to hip, I got a couple of pain medicine shots in recovery which really didn’t help much at all and caused my IV site & arm to get really red, hive-like bumps & swollen (turns out I’m allergic to the med they gave me, Toradol), then after that they only gave me Tylenol and ibuprofen, even tho I was curled up in a ball on the bed, bawling in agony the entire time. My grandma kept begging the nurses to please help me, but they said there wasn’t anything else they could do and she didn’t really know any better, she just trusted them. They sent me home with a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen and it couldn’t even touch the pain I was in. It’s truly inhumane the way a lot of doctors in the US treat their patients.

@@teddymarian9416he said for “drug withdrawal” being that this isn’t something that’s prescribed & an addict can only have access to it while in the care of medical professionals… this would be good for drug withdrawal treatment as the body is in severe pain for almost an entire week & some longer. That withdrawal pain is the number one reason why most addicts choose to drop out of treatment programs & go back to the using instead. The drug will give them instant relief from that pain. This will work in that sense of instant pain relief allowing addicts to be able to handle the withdrawals, and stay in recovery & actually becoming clean. Depending on the drug, and which type of treatment they choose (Suboxone or Methadone) some people can’t start taking blockers for a certain amount of days being that the drug has to fully be out of the system before, so that the person doesn’t end up in preeclampsia. That can kill them. For those days, something like this would be of good use to ease the extreme pain. It can be controlled, they will not be on it long enough to become addicted, and it will fully out of there system as well as the drug that put them rehab once treatment is all done. So no it won’t affect the addict negatively an give them a new high to chase, and yes this will be great for someone in the beginning stages of withdrawal as long as the person is in an inpatient recovery program. Now for outpatient treatment, I wouldn’t trust an addict with it because we all know it won’t be used for care properly or it will more than likely be sold for some cash, and most people that choose outpatient recovery never really recover. But like I said, he was correct, this would work well for people suffering from drug withdrawals but while in inpatient recovery.

You are 100% right I was on pain meds for a real problem 3 joints on my right side are artificial from work. They took me off the 30 day supply that cost 60 dollars and gave me this new pain patch that doesn't work there is no generic 5k a month. I went into shock from pain because their new patch doesn't work. Got back half my meds sucks. I think they weren't making money on generic pain meds had to lobby politicians to outlaw the old ones which cause the people to go to the street or unalive if you look at statistics you will see same year government stepped in is when the crisis begun.

I'm googling THE MAID program. Unbelievable that doctors and nurses can't tell the difference between actual pain and addiction. Same here in the US. I've seen so many addicts get pain medication through "pain clinics" and others who may need a mild pain pill and can't get it. It's sad. I have liver disease from NSAID use, not drinking. Now, because of my plasma being low, I can't use aspirin, tylenol, ibuprofen, naproxen, etc for pain, including migraines. I get zero pain assistance.
