The Florida Spiritualaires - Watching Mother Go Home

The Florida Spiritualaires are a fine group from the Tampa area that began over fifty years ago and are still going strong today, led by longtime member Rev. Fleming Tarver. They are best known by record collectors for the stunning "I Remember When," which appears on this album. During the vinyl era, they released albums on Fuller, Ernie's Record Parade, Jewel, and HSE and singles on Fuller, Lewis, Ernie's Record Parade, and HSE.

I am always interested in hearing from members of groups and their families, as well as anyone who can help tell the story of these groups. I've recently decided to incorporate as much biographical information as I can track down about the groups whose records I post, and I'm going back through former posts as time permits to add as much information as possible. Names and biographies of group members, other groups that they played in, dates of releases, home cities of groups, information about labels - really anything is useful. The men and women who gave glory with this great music deserve to be remembered better.
