LJJ is a famous Korean actor who could barely string two sentences together in English. Seeing him speaking fluently in this is a testament to his efforts in learning the language, not an easy task
Well keep in mind acting and line delivery is very different from language in an interview too. I was always thrown off when I was a kid in seeing Antonio Banderas's grasp of english in films vs interviews. I guess my point is he might still sound the same as you describe in an interview, even though he comes off fluent on the show. I could be wrong, too - I've just seen that disconnect with other actors.
Yeah hes really impressive
He's the total mvp of the show
Fluent? Hmm no. But very good
I'm a Korean. How does Master Sol's English pronunciation sound to the ears of a native English speaker?
I want to hear objective and honest opinions.
Do not feel ashamed for liking this show! Like you, I had super low expectations, but (as yet) I am absolutely enjoying it! Love the characters, the action and the mystery!
A quick reference to what Mae and Qimir said:
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.
The true creed 😈
This is engraved in my head since I had to memorize it in Kotor.
Jaby with the dad jokes, I thought Achara was going to pass out from rolling her eyes so far back into her noggin XD
"Hey Padawan, you could try repolarizing the power couplings...?''
I heard that as...."Hey Padawan, have you tried turning it off and on again...?
😁😁
Master Sol is pretty cool. I hope he doesn’t die.
He is like a low bit qui gon jinn
They're probably all going to die.... since the movies said their weren't any Sith in this era.. could mean nobody survived to tell about it.
@@wkadalieyea I’m hoping this is the case but it just seems unlikely they’ll let the sith just win like that. However they do it I just hope it stays true, no plot points and don’t do it in a lazy way.
I think if anything, the jedi in this might actually find out the sith/dark side are coming back in this but maybe deletes the history from the archives since what we are led to believe that there are none at this time
@@JuicedCazyD I also more likely suspect that....especially if Yoda is still around in this time period. Why wouldn't he know about the Sith. Like if Jedi knew that Sith were around more might become Sith.....so they keep it secret.
dude drank a vial of poison rather than confess to whatever they did on her home planet. thats something else.
I could hardly tell that Sol's padawan was none other than Dafne Keene (aka X-23, Laura) given how fantastically done her makeup was!😲
and in logan she played up her spanish heritage while here she is fully leaned into her english heritage, british accent and all
33rd like. Ikr it was so beautiful
1. *"The Jedi live in a dream. But, an Acolyte kills the dream."*
2. So far, after 2 episodes, it's quite interesting.
My favorite character currently is Master Sol. I think the world-building and crime-thriller aspect is most intriguing.
Only time will tell how good or bad the show is.
3. *Episode 1 reaction at **0:05*
4. *Episode 2 reaction at **26:11*
Completely agree with Jaby that the "city" looks so big from afar but when you get down there it looks small and to me it looks like a set.
Look at Sol's face after he told Jeckie he knows Mae is dead.
I think the Four hid Mae away and only took one twin to the Temple because there would be some kind of "issue" with training both. The Master found and trained her and is using her anger at the Four for his/her/their own agenda against the Jedi.
They take siblings together, especially twins, because of their force bonds. The clone wars had an episode that featured twin knights
@@owenmackenzie579 My guess is the Jedi were responsible for the death of her family, not Mae. They may have sensed the dark side duality of her and had orders to execute her. (Jedi Dogma?) Seems like they knew who her family was and happened to be close by.... They pointed out that her training was started abnormally late.
Fire in space works in star wars the same way it has through all of the films, the explosion of the executor in episode 6, the fire atop of the starcruiser in episode 1,
The oxygen feeding the fire could easily come from within the ship itself. I honestly don't get how people forget that tiny detail.
The Inquisitors pointed out in "Kenobi" that innocent bystanders are the weakness of the Jedi.
Mae threw the dagger at the bartender to distract Indara. You can hear the "squelch" of the other dagger piercing Indara's heart an instant after she stopped the first dagger.
That's a call back to legends.
Yea doesn't change the fact that her moves were very obvious and I saw it coming a mile away. It also doesn't change people have been surviving lightsabers sword to the gut and walk it off. And it also doesn't change the fact in the very next episode it is expblished force shields are a thing. So no matter what you say it doesn't change the fact that her death was unfair and forced for plot sakes.
Jedis have 2 arms, why couldn't she use the other arm to keep her in check?
Hell, why does using the force always involved arm movements even though we've seen force users use the force without their arms?
@@pamoweiberezi5315 the one arm was on her lightsaber the other was trying to save that civilian and she forced pulled that dagger to keep it from stabbing that civilian. So no she couldn't have anyway.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord just because her moves are obvious doesn't mean anything, second part I agree with you, the third part it's established Force Shields do exist yes but look at the context around it the Jedi Master was meditating and he was able to have a Force Shield up at that time. Listen to only be something and you can do while calm and meditating. If you're throwing off In the heat of battle you're not going to be able to concentrate you're not going to be able to remain calm.
I asked the same thing about the fire outside. So did Late to the Party.
I think either the gas seen outgassing is oxygen, or there is a flammable fuel in the line, that has its own oxidizer.
There was like a 2 minute scene between Osea and Sol where he said he didn't want her to go because of her anger for vengeance against her sister.
Jabby "I just don't get why Osea wasn't there" during the "my sister is dead" scene.
Is it that people aren't watching the show properly, or?
We just saw Obi-Wan disconnect from the Force for a decade and struggle to get it back. Not sure it's such a surprise that a padawan didn't complete her training and who hasn't been practicing is struggling to use the Force again?
He disconnected on purpose and was so masterfull with the force it made sense he could do that. We dont know she purposely disconnected from the force or not. It would make no sense for her to do that because shes not hiding from jedi killers. Basically my point is comparing her to Obi-Wan doesn't make sense.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord the point is one of the most powerful Jedi cut himself off of the Force for 10 years and was barely able to move anything the first time he tried using the Force again. This is a padawan who didn't even complete her training and hasn't been training for 8(?) years, it doesn't surprise me that she struggles to connect with the Force or use it competently again.
@@Vulcanerd disney.. lmao
@@Vulcanerd but she didn't disconnect from the force. And it would makes no sense she wouldn't keep using the force. Those are the 2 things that differ and make a comparison to Obi-Wan invalid. Obi-Wan only had trouble because he disconnected purposely.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord I didn't say she disconnected from the Force, but she doesn't even compare to one of the most highly regarded Jedi of the later Republic compared to a padawan who didn't even complete her training who's been away from Jedi instruction for 8, was it? Years. It's no surprise she has problems trying to use it competently again.
it's really nice enjoying the show and watching you guys enjoy it ❤
I was so shocked y’all didn’t notice Mae’s hair is definitely longer than Osha’s. When the first switched to Osha on the Trade federation ship my first thought was ‘Is her hair shorter?’ And I was able to distinguish them that way
Also the GIANT GOld Tattoo on her forehead???
On first watch there’s 0% chance I would notice that. Also, you can totally change you hair from one day to the next.
At first I thought that Osha on the ship was just Mae's back story about why she wanted revenge and that is why her hair was shorter. Didn't realize it was her twin until the Jedi's came looking for her
Look at the 4 Jedi now.
1 took a job beneath her skill and rank on some backwater planet when she should be on the council.
1 took a 10 vow of silence as penance
1 took a teaching job instead of fieldwork.
And the last is living in exile in a derelict ship
They did something bad for sure. You could see it on Sol's face, Endara's surprise at seeing Mae's face. Plus how fast he took the poison.
Nice detail. They buried that team of Jedi.
I just noticed today that you guys watched this series. I find it VERY refreshing to find a Reaction channel that isn't just shitting all over it because it's "the cool thing to do". I rather enjoyed the show myself. And just like the Prequels when they came out 20-odd years ago, I pretty much stand alone defending myself for enjoying it/them. So, I'm going to take some time and binge your Reactions to each episode, and enjoy the Hell out of the fact that y'all aren't hating on it.
A Jedi doesn't pull out their weapon unless prepared to kill....except in dark snowy caves.
and butter knives are more deadly then lightsaber
i think he was trying use it as a flashlight 🤣
That was kinda the point....to show the jedi are not the pefrect do gooders who always follow their own rules like they claim to be.
I don't really trust the word of someone who has only ever been trained by a dark sider. But also, that Jedi reminds me of the type of cop that pulls his gun out during traffic stops - not exactly a shining example of a good Jedi and maybe even more of a foreshadowing of the type of Jedi we see in the Skywalker Saga.
Rick James hair on the twins lmao superfreaks
Dude you've got to read up on studies done on identical twins separated at birth. It is insane how similarly they turn out even when raised in completely different families.
Jim Lewis and Jim Springer, born in 1940. Two identical twin brothers discovered they had lived nearly identical lives despite being separated at birth and not knowing each other until the age of 39.
So, it kinda makes sense
I thought the actor who played Master Torbin looked familiar, but I just couldn't figure it out by myself. A simple google search later; it's Tommen Baratheon 😂
Wow! Nice catch!
Fire is only possible in two cases when it comes to "space": (1) in case you are not actually in space but rather in a different atmosphere which allows a flame to exist, that is to undergo the equivalence of oxidation and (2) it is in space but there is a leak of gas, e.g. oxygen, closely around where the flame exists, this gas may be enough to sustain the flame while it feeds it.
Dang, it's nice to see you two together again. ;)
Darth Achara: Kill the youngling!
Others: B-but, she's just a child. She may have also just warned us of impending dange...
Darth Achara: Kill. The youngling.
🤣
Glad they didn’t drag out the twin reveal
I enjoyed watching this show with all the flaws ...I will keep watching like I did for The mandalorian Ashoka -Obi- wan ...they should try a show about Luke Skywalker as a jedi
"I see Fiya..."
That one's gonna catch a lightsaber in her sleep.
Someone bought up this theory to me and I cannot seem to unsee it now and after re-watching the final seen of episode one like five times I am certainly buying that theory, Sol has a twin and he’s Mae’s master.
As much as i wish CAM wouldnt have died so fast, star wars is generally for lesser known actors so it makes sense to me that shed mostly be a cameo, but im confidant we get flashbacks to her later on
fire in space in star wars works however it's worked since the original trilogy and the prequels, which had fire & sound in space.
everyone stop acting like you care/know about strict realism in movies. thor had 100 chances to kill thanos before thanos snapped. just enjoy art please before the apocalypse.
The lighting look so good in this room
The fire might be connected to the oxygen line
even if that was the case.....the oxygen bleeding would ignite as a flare thruster flame and not as a campfire flames...
Thanks 👍
This was a GREAT start!! I am loving the 1st TWO ep.
Are you trolling?! 😂😂😂
Why isn't anybody acknowledging the astronaut suits, making reference to the Apollo movies😅
Who is the green Jedi leader who sent Sol to catch OSHA?
I finally figured out Dafne is Jeckie. I'm bad with faces WITHOUT prosthetics and stuff.
That’s Vernestra Rwoh. A wonderful character from the High Republic books.
Nit really expecting an answer from you guys but does anyone know how reaction channels get the footage theyre reacting to? Is it just a capture card or something?
As both a Star Wars AND Star Trek nerd, I was surprised to see an Orion Jedi!
Trek nerds know what I mean.
Yes, we do. 😂
We do love our green girls!
literally, I dont understand all the hates it gets on internet.
6:00 Spaceships flying like jets in an atmosphere don't bother you, but fire in space does? Ummm, okay.
EDIT:
24:13 Masters and Apprentices are connected through the Force though, you could say that they are "attached," the overlooked attachment that Jedi know is unavoidable.
Palpatine is connected to Darth Vader
Anakin was connected to Ahsoka, still is as evidenced by her series
Ahsoka is connected to Sabine
Kanin was connected to Ezra
Obi-Wan was connected to Anakin
And the list goes on. That unique connection that masters have with their apprentices' gives them a uniquely deep perspective that others overlook/are blind to see. Sol believing Osha isn't surprising to me; it's par for the course.
I remember my grandma told me, I don't care what they taught you in school but Anakin Skywalker blew up the Death Star and there's nogood and evil in Star Wars
Don't forget major plot holes..nah.. plot craters
1.they Identify DEI stronge female also immediately from the other side of the galaxy by a random alien barkeep, what he'd probably describe her as black human female with dreads and they identify her out of billions of people who would fit the same description.
2. They send a Jedi Knight and a Padawan to arrest a assassin who killed a Jedi Master.
3. They arrest her and instead of escorting her with them, they put her in a prisoner transport. From their perspective she is strong enough to kill a Jedi Master.
4. Why the heck would DEI male Jedi Knight be streaming his cloak in the common area where everyone passes through?
5. The Jedi don't draw their weapons unless they're ready to kill, literally later on DEI male Jedi Knight draw his lightsaber to use as a torch.
The characters and story are written as intelligent as the writers themselves are, and Disney Star wars writers severely lack the intellect to write something as lore heavy and beloved I.P as this.
Of course she died. It’s not a light saber.
I liked the first two episodes. I like the characters of Mae/Osha and very intriguing what happens. Overall I think the dialogue and pacing is weak, however I’m still looking forward to the next ones. It’s not a desaster, but definitely not a masterpiece either. Let’s see how the ride goes … so far 7/10 for me
lmao u must be gay
Dd you guys shoot this with a million dollar camera? First thing i noticed was how clear this video is lol
the pace is pretty good
How does fire in space work?
The same way explosions and ship sounds in space work
Answer: star wars universe has slightly different laws of phtsics than us
*physics
The whole twin thing.
Why does Mae have a better handling of the Force and why Osha quit. That is something I would like to know why and how this happened other then the whole Anger vs Forgiveness thing.
Does that mean Evil has an easier path to the Force?
I’m sure her tattoo will come into play at some point. Mae will pretend to be Osha and Sol won’t see it and not be tricked.
Chekhov's Tattoo.
5 more episodes? This is an 8 episode show
Mantra of the Sith: "Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me."
This is a contrast to the Jedi/Lightsaber mantra of Luke Skywalker: "There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force." And a contrast to the exhortation of Jedi Master Luminara Unduli to graduating Padawan Barris Offee (in Clone Wars animation series, episode 14: "The crystal is the heart of the blade. The heart is the crystal of the Jedi. The Jedi is the crystal of the Force. The Force is the blade of the heart. All are intertwined: the crystal, the blade, the Jedi. You are one." (emphasis on oneness, nature, balance vs gaining power and victory).
The character known as QIMIR who said, "Peace is a lie," actually uttered a mantra indicative of the beliefs of the Sith. QIMIR, portrayed by Filipino-Canadian Manny Jacinto, is that brilliant mind behind the poison utilized by Mae in her confrontation against Master Jedi Torbin on the planet Olega during Episode 2. Some are speculating that QIMIR may also be the enigmatic figure seen wielding the ominous red lightsaber in the Acolyte trailers
What is with this generic chom over dread lock black hairstyle that Hollywood and gaming industries obssess with on black characters. We have different hairstyles 😂😂😂
Killmonger set a bar and now they think the hairstyle will make them reach the bar again. Not happening...
It's how they actually see you. Not as individuals, but as a demographic... nothing more.
what if that Mae's helper is the Sith 🤔
i believe the gas that the pressure valve is spewing into space is likely air or oxygen or some kind of oxidizer. think about it we use rockets to travel in space so how are they able to burn? the reason is they use liquid oxygen. so you can start a fire in space so long as you bring your own oxygen. (the real strange thing though is that fire reacts strangely in zero g. apparently in space fire will form a sphere and they burn slower and cooler than they do in gravity.)
Thee green Master is Sus cause she the spouse of the director of thee show
I’d say LF should try and do some smaller level movies based in the High Republic era. Especially cover the hyperspace catastrophe and show the power of a mass of Jedi and what they can do as a group
Can you believe this, people are angry because of the fire in space, and also the overweight Jedi. Hello guys👋🏻.
what makes osha not shooting mae even stupider is that it was a stun gun so i don't see why she wouldn't shoot her
Wondertwin powers?
I have a suspicion that the mysterious Sith might be Darth Plagueis
Or Plagueis’s master, Tenebrous.
@@Niklarus2010 Good theory also!
Imagine Hollywood without revenge...
Khofar so good!
I'm really enjoying the show as well! I did not like the opening scene because what jedi master wouldn't have noticed the second dagger? But the rest is great so far.
I just hope they dont waste Lee Jung Jae like Disney has done lately with the korean actors they've brought in so far. Still cant believe they gave Park Seo Jun such a forgettable character in the marvels.
But on to other note, i was pleasantly surprised with the first 2 eps and a little bit like hmm. This might be actually be good. I guess since i came in with really low expectations. Haha. The series is definitely a bit intriguing. Of course, ill wait till the 3rd or 4th episode to really give my full thoughts on it.
That reminds me. Have you guys heard of the xmen fan film Logan: the Wolf, will we see reaction to that short film soon? :)
People are just now noticing the bad writing, the entire Star Wars Saga is horribly written since the first movie, sorry not sorry they should have taken it seriously…..
@CinePals I heard that the producer leyslie wants to make a live action kotor or thinking about it even putting a legend character in her Star Wars shows idk about that
Enjoying this a lot. Mae & Sol Osha loving them
Other people (youtubers) say they see a good performance that distinguishes Osha and May pretty much. I see that too, but it is subjective.
I think that for you guys that work in the industry it's easier to spot stuff that bother you. (That's your curse! lol) To me, this series is perfect so far.. well, not perfect. Two little things bothered me: episode 1 she didn't even try to navigate the ship that crashed; and on episode 2, when Yord spots Mae, at night, he is on a first storey balcony, and the image that is shown of Mae that is supposed to be from his point of view shows her from the same level, as if he were on the ground level. That was bad! lol (Because the ship crash at least one can imply that she "trusted the Force"... (?!))
I think all the internet hate on this show is completely absurd, and I hope it stays and ends strong, so people can eat their hats in the future, when people rediscover the pearl that this is.
Ps. It's funny you guys haven't seen Indara's death coming right in the beginning. It was written all over the trailers. Every time Carrie-Ann Moss showed up in the trailers someone said "a Jedi was murdered!..."
there's no escuse to miss with a stune shot...
Don't be scared to say you enjoyed this! People were rooting for it to fail before they saw it for... reasons.... but I think it's quite good!!
"how does fire work in space..." I'll give you a hint... the sun is a big ball of fire ;)
Nope. It's plasma powered by Birkeland Currents. The orthodox explanation is pure fantasy that doesn't support the evidence.
See Dr. Donald Scott's electrical circuit diagram as to how it works as well as other works of his that go into greater detail.

I have a feeling Jason Mendoza is a lot more than presented - maybe even the dark master Mae is being instructed by. The way he knows things and dodged Mae's attack towards the end of the episode. Jedi reflexes.
Not sure how I feel about this. The Jedi are so ponderous and zzzz. We were looking at our phones by 30 mins in. At one point, my friend said, "They are *still* expositing things!"
I enjoy the actors from other things, and that's kind of why I'm still watching. The writing is very . . . college freshmen get their first writing job.

I didn't know this show was being hated on. Oh well, I quite enjoyed the first two episodes and am looking forward to the rest of the series! Always gotta support Rue!
It's being hated because there aren't enough white men in the show.
Yes, the Florida Republican party has billion backers. These old men can hire army of online trolls to harass Disney. You see them all the time targeting Disney and Star Wars. They tried to target X-Men 97 but they got major push back.
@@toshtao1 or maybe it's being hated because the writing, dialogue and acting chops are crappy and the pacing slow burn is crap too.
A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are definitely not campy. Return of the Jedi had Ewoks, yes, but everything else was serious. I don’t get why people keep referring to Star Wars as campy, cheesy schlock.
Master poops knives?
each twin believes the other is dead, just what happened on Brendok? I think Sol is lying when he said he saw Mae die. For sure, something isn't adding up. Also Torbin looked odd. that actor looked like a child wearing a beard and bad toupee.
Speaking of hair, I find it weird, Mae and Osha have exact same hairstyle, they should have made it slightly different. one could have hair longer hair, one noticeably shorter.
Why would you put a supposed Jedi killer in a common prisoner transport, guarded by a droid? Clearly these Jedi don’t use their brains much,
Good point.
Yord apologized for the mistake, so it sounds like it was his decision...unsure if he's just a bit incompetent or maybe even sus?
