The cool thing about this apology is this: 1. It’s actually Christian Bale apologizing. He’s taking full responsibility for it. 2. He’s calling a local radio station to explain what happened to people who cheered him up. 3. He didn’t use a publicist or agent to get the message out. 4. Unless you've worked on a set, you can't really understand the tension that builds. It's part of the creative process. It even happens with bands working on songs. All enthusiastic artists have a tendency to put their feet in their mouths. Experienced crew, actors, directors, they all understand that and let go of taking things personally when they step into the creative arena. A good director knows that when an actor has hit that point that the actor is on to something vital in character exploration and sometimes has to be a diplomat when managing all the swirling emotions. On the other hand, how an actor behaves offstage or off-screen is his or her responsibility. But working in an industry that requires you to dig down into your deepest fears, hostility, etc. makes you raw beyond belief. That is, if you want to do it well.

Granted some actors suck and get rewarded while doing horrible work because they know the right people (cases in point: Adam Sandler and Julia Roberts) and have a cult of personality willing to throw money at them. Your ignorance of how working in the film industry is quite telling. Actors like Christian Bale are paid lots of money because when a movie makes millions of dollars at the box office, video rentals, etc., they have negotiated to receive a portion of the proceeds for that, plus just their regular acting salary. I can kinda relate to bale on the outbreak part as an artist. I of course am not an artist by any measure but i am really passionate about music and I'm a pretty decent guitarist though i say so myself. When i was younger i used to record tracks of improvisation pieces that I'd burn onto a disc and play in my car. While I was recording this one time, my mom knocked on my door and ruined literally a 5 minute absolutely flawless take. I got so enraged that i literally just lost my fucking mind. I felt like turning the whole god damn house upside down. Just thinking about still agitates me a little bit. To anyone else its totally understandable how it may come off as an overreaction, but god damn you can't recreate art created spontaneously in the moment! Shit I'm remembering it again.. fuck i fucking hated that god damn fucking day. Fucking hell.
I think he had a point. He was trying to do a scene and the guy was acting like he was walking in the middle of a street. Bale works 10x harder than anyone else...he expects the same standards for people working with him.
he's so perfect and this apology reminds me he's human, everybody makes mistakes everybody has those days, and that movie was awesome, every single of his movies. don't judge him leave bale alone
I mean Christian is an A-list pro actor with PASSION....and those actors are under big pressure on million $ film sets where time means a lot of money. if he just delivered an intense scene and the camera man says..."oh,sorry dude, forgot to press 'record' "...I can understand that somebody freaks out ...not just the actor...happens all the time

I'm half John Conner and half Christain Bale. Well, that makes everything fine now. I'm sure the guy he completely humiliated for all the world to see is just fine now too.
That's fair comment, James. I remember when a guy flipped out in the office like that. He apologised to all concerned but did he get a promotion? Hell no. He was gone within 3 months.
he is such classy guy.
I was never impressed with christian bale as an actor until I saw him in VICE - unbelievable!
He didnt just apologised, he tried to protect the whole Franchise and lowered himself to save the "Lightning Guys" Reputation.
Christian Bale realy IS Batman.
*apologize , *lighting , *really
He said he made amends to the lighting guy, so this was just public apology.
It was the director of photography, Shane Hurlbut.
Bale is only human, everyone is entitled to loosing your head every now and then. Don´t judge a person for 1 shitty screw up in his life. So many good movies from this actor, I wont let his lash out ruin it. Hes straightening things out here, a true gentleman.
One of the best actors around
Oh my god...that apology even has a watermark.
I fucking love this dude. Pure class
He's actually a nice guy
At least he took full responsibility for his own actions. Kudos to him. Now if Tom Cruise can learn from him.
working on your childhood traumas and emotional reactivity helps,
i believe his apology
Only human we all lose our shit sometimes.
How can you be angry at Bale hes a charming professional.
great actor with a big heart
We've all blown up when we are frustrated! It's all understandable
Yea just ask my dog I scream when he eats my food. Im done with him professionally
I can only imagine his agent seeing this online the first time.
Probably called him in and played the clip to him then told him he has to apologise and control this fallout or his career is done
its all good christian. i still love u!!!!!!!!!
Great actor and seems like a genuinely good guy.
*I really do appreciate the man*
is ok bale i did love TERMINATOR SALVATION
regardless my favorite been the original 1984 Terminator
hurts me how under rated salvation is, and how badly it needed a sequel part
Still the best actor there is.
Bales rant was one of the funniest ive ever heard....the "amateur" couldnt even get a word in lol...it really was fucking hysterical....you rock Bale!!!
Always good when someone who scavenges for rating someone's mistake also gives them a chance to redeem themselves.
Bale works 10x harder than anyone else...he expects the same standards for people working with him.
he's so perfect and this apology reminds me he's human, everybody makes mistakes everybody has those days, and that movie was awesome, every single of his movies. don't judge him leave bale alone
great guy everyone makes mistakes
I mean Christian is an A-list pro actor with PASSION....and those actors are under big pressure on million $ film sets where time means a lot of money.
if he just delivered an intense scene and the camera man says..."oh,sorry dude, forgot to press 'record' "...I can understand that somebody freaks out ...not just the actor...happens all the time
OOHHHHHH, gooood for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christian Bale is a gent.
