I genuinely love how you give fake peppino a little depth. I almost feel like as a headcanon that he just wants to be like peppino but can't because he's different or lacking human abilities. He's scary and goofy, but I appreciate this showing his love and innocence.
He wants to be human, and I imagine before the boss fight he wanted to kill peppino to be the real peppino, but after the whole boss fight, AND THEN after peppino saved him from when the tower was breaking, fake peppino realised that there can be more than one peppino and he started appreciating him taking the time to save him (peppino probably didnt wanna save him, he just followed him out the tower). So I imagine peppino is teaching him how to be his own human. Hes teaching him how to cook, small recipes and little things, like the honey milk so eventually he can become his own person.
