I hear a big difference. The Worths sound nice and warm, but the Phd's are much louder and brighter. I'm interested in trying the Phd's on my concert. Thanks for the comparison! Subscribed.
The Worth sound warm and the PHD’s sound bright. That’s my experience with the two sets as well. I have PHD’s on a Koaloha concert and Worth Browns on a Millar tenor.
The PHDs absolutely project more. There’s also more clarity. It looks like that aNueNue has a different wood on the top. Cedar? Spruce? Either way, the PHDs are bright and big. The Worths sound fine, but there’s an obvious pop in the PHD sound.
I haven't tried Worth strings yet. However., I have been very satisfied with the PHD's, both low and high G sets. My KoAloha KTM-00 just didn't sound right to me with the original strings, particularly the low G. Swapped to a PHD low G set and they are still on there. Totally different. I recently acquired a used Flight Voyager EQ that arrived with an alternate tuning and wound G & C strings. I decided to try a set of PHD high g and I'm liking it. They seem to have the right tension, I'd say medium.
Isn't fluorocarbon also a polymer? Do the PhD strings have noticeably different tensions, gauges, or densities than the Worth strings? I agree that the PhD strings sound brighter in this video.

I have two Ohana s. Vic. I know you have several. What strings do you put on your ohanas ?
@@bonniedavidson936I have the Worth CT-LG on many of my Ohana’s.

The C4 has a cedar top with acacia back and sides. I think it is a great combination.
recently fell in love with fremont black lines on one of my tenors. i will give the PHDs a try for sure. where can you buy them online?

Not sure about fluorocarbon and polymer being related but the two sets of strings feel and play similar.
PhDs seem more in your face . . . at least on this tiny speaker. Are they thicker?
Not really. They are a little brighter.
