Love the BS. Nice balance between the CT and BT. Not as harsh as the CT and not as mellow as the BT. Nice even sound though the range of notes with good highs without the highs dominating.

I think the CF/BF strings are good for lower tunings on a tenor. They're just right for my Kala 19" scale super tenor tuned E A C# F#. The regular tenor scale strings seem a little too flimsy.
Update; added the low G set of browns to my Fender Montecito and it now sings ~beautifully~. Thanks again for the effort on this one, it was super helpful!

Please could you tell me which ones came with Flight Diana Tenor I received from SUS this week, I thought Martin fluorocarbon were really good but after playing these Worth Brown strings, they have blown me away with their quality and comfort on the fingers.
I just replaced Aquila Nylguts with Worth Browns on my Ohana Solid Concert Koa. I am fully blown away! I heard the difference on youtube comparisons, but in person, it is nothing short of staggering! The resonance and sustain are off the chart! I want nothing but Worth Browns on all my solid ukes and will also try on a few of my laminates. But I suspect the Nylguts might hold their own with the laminates. I have tried D’Addario Flourocarbons and while they sound OK, they will be replaced with the Worth Browns.
Thanks Alex for this very informative video. I tried a set of CL strings on my Tanglewood TUJ2 CE concert. They sounded very nice, but I noticed that they became damaged very quickly with fret marks. I will not buy them again. My next trial will be for CM or BM, and eventually CD.
@@UkesWithAlex Thanks for your feedback. The fret wires feel very smooth. The main difference with my other ukes seems to be that the fret wires are ever so slightly more prominent. I bought it second hand and never got a proper setup. So that could it. To be sure, I will try other strings that don't get fret grooves on my other instruments.
So forgive me by calling this show up again, but I have a question. What Worth string is the equivalent for tenor or the CL or BL strings, that is a lighter tension tenor string? Thanks!

Which one would you try first? The C string is a bit muddy sounding, too. Is that why people play Wrapped C strings? Good luck with the move! I’ll give you a week or so and then order some strings. Hi Wes, I believe they are a Worth brown string too. I imagine based on the gauges I found online that they are Worth BE for the smaller sizes and Worth BT for the Tenor high G set. I could be wrong but the gauges do line up well with what I can see online.

It depends on the set of strings. on very light strings you can get away with it but I wouldn't on something regular, heavy tension or thicker diameter. Not a stupid question at all...
I have been asked hundreds of times but I work in excess of full time already and have a young family. If I were to teach in the 2-3 hours I'm at home in the evenings, I would never stop. I considered doing a course people could pay for access but once again, it's just too time consuming. I'm flattered you like the videos though. 👍

I imagine I'd just want the one with the smallest diameter to make it less likely that I'd need to modify the bridge, right? Do you know which of these Worth types would have the thinnest low G?
I honestly think you are going to be disappointed with any unwound low G string on a Soprano scale Ukulele. A really fat wound string is pretty much all I have found that works.

Yes I have. It still sounded clunky to me personally. It was almost too fat for the hole on my machine head so watch out for that on gotoh stealth tuners.
It's "worth" understanding nearly all these sets have the same diameter 2nd and 3rd strings (.26 and .29). The difference between CL, CM, and CT are only in the 1st and 4th string diameter. (CT are longer, obviously).
This is a good point. Also, the hard tension and standard Tension sets have a noticeably different response on an instrument. It took a lot longer for the hard tension sets to stretch in for the demos.

It's a good question... the standard strings are fairly light and there is no equivalent to the CL/BL so I guess your lightest option is the standard.

I see worth has an extra thick low g going all the way up to 0.043" in diameter. Have you tried that?
