    Thx for that Video. I replace my Tensioners and Pulley tomorrow. Thx for the Step by Step, but it is really necessary to remove the Power Steering and the Alternator ? I Think when you loosen the Alternator and put it a little bit to the side you can reach the Bolts from the Tensioner.or am I wrong ?

      On my 2001 M57s you can use a socket and bar to ease the tensioners off and the belt just drops into place, did that a couple of months ago when I replaced the water pump on both of them.
      Looks easier on the M47 engine but on an M57 you have a lot less room at the front of the engine.

    • @grahamepigney8565

Runs and sounds fine and has plenty of tension but wondered if yours has done the same after driving it?

    • @GeorgeAusters

    • @rhysbozok715
      @rhysbozok715 4 года назад +1

      @@GeorgeAusters yeah the tensioner seems fine! No wobble or lack of tension.. just worried the belt could come off or if it’s normal for it to sit further over the tensioner pulley like that

    • @leiflillandt1488
      @leiflillandt1488 4 года назад

      @@rhysbozok715 If the pulleys and tensioners are very little rounded axially, I guess the belt will not come off.
      The axis must not be quite parallel nor the pulleys in line, if the pulleys are slightly rounded, and still the belt doesn't fall off.

    Does anyone know a rough torque figure for the two bolts that hold the tensioner on as I tend to have a habit of parting out bolts. I read those torx bolts of that size can go to 47nm but that seems incredibly high

    • @richie1804
      @richie1804 3 года назад

      A follow up incase anyone else is a bit ocd about things like this. The center nut on the tensioner is 10nm. The two torx bolts are 17nm. The alternator bolts are a surprisingly low 21 and the power steering pump ones are somewhere lower than this as of course I parted out one of the captive nuts so about 10 at a guess.

    Hey. Help me out.. I changed all the pulleys like you did. The tensioners are also changed. The a/c belt is new, main belt is in good condition no cracks or nothing is seen, as I put everything together and the squeeking starts from the idller pulley. The pulley was new as I said, I thought that maybe the pulley bearings were done as they were used from the old setup. Yesterday I bought the full pulley with the new leg. It fkn still squeeks.. everything is in place and tight the back bolt in the centre of the tensioner is also tight. When the car gets warmer it stops to squeek abit. No loosen belts, neither the belts are touching the block, the cranckshaft is also good and is the oem part. Have no ideas please reply, what do you think??? 🙌 E46 2.0d 110kw
