Its YOUR channel and we are loving it! You certainly do not have to stick to only one thing... your intelligence and compassionate humanity is very fascinating and inspiring and we just want more, music, documentaries, anything you take interest in!!!
This is YOUR channel. SOME people want you to stick with the music. Hey, I think most people watching could probably make a list of the next 5 or 6 things they would like you to do and I could as well and very well might make SUGGESTIONS..... But I think the vast majority of people are watching recognize 100% that it's totally your channel and we have no right to tell you what to do, we're just along for the ride...... Don't lose sleep over this just keep doing what you want to do!! Personally just from seeing Your reaction and openness to many of these videos I'm interested in watching you and I'm sure thousands of others are the same..... I can't be the only one who Can't believe how some people are writing as if it's their channel and you work for them..... Keep up all the good work!
DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT!!!! This is your channel and you have the right to be interested in different things beyond the songs... People cannot dictate to you what to do... We can ask, can recommend but never demand!! Feel free to do as you wish.
Sorry if people aren't respectful. Please don't feel obliged to anything specific. Go with your heart! We're definitely enjoying your journey so far :).
I really enjoyed this singer. I've never heard of him before and now I'm going to seek out other videos of him. What an awesome voice.@portuguesepai, please continue bringing whatever content that interests YOU. I appreciate your intellect, inquisitiveness, attention to detail, understanding of people and openness to learning and hearing different viewpoints on different subjects. Keep doing you. It's your authenticity that's appreciated, regardless of whatever you are reacting to.
Beautiful! I really appreciate your reactions of appreciation! I enjoy all your content... change it up! Love it! You are thoughtful and insightful no matter the content you are reacting to.
I started watching from the beginning and I love any reaction you do I’ve watched really every single vid and I love what you do and eventually you’re gonna get through all the songs and then you’re not going to have any vids left so it’s good to mix in a lot of other stuff. Keep it up love watching you and your reactions.
The hats the boys are wearing are called 'kitchketel', in certain hasidic sects boys wear those on holidays and shabbat. The velvet hats the men are wearing are also worn by some hasidic sects on the weekdays. Hats' style varies a bit depending on which sect you belong to.
I think one of the things that makes your videos so attractive is the fact that you are 100% acting out of your own interest, commenting your own thoughts and not catering to anyone else’s opinions. I personally would have no interest in watching someone gush over video after video with generic feedback and enthusiasm. You ask fascinating and intuitive questions and make such spot on observations bc you have genuine interest in what you are watching. And it’s pretty impressive bc I feel like people nowadays are so desperate for likes and hits that they will jump into what everyone wants them to say and do to continue to get that attention. I love how you are truly doing this for your own enjoyment and interest and that authenticity is what makes you so interesting to watch! Keep doing you!
This special piece was composed by Yossi Green, the greatest composer of Jewish music. The song was released in 1990 on Avraham Farid's album, and you can probably imagine how Avraham Farid sang it...
Bro we love you and you need to aim for the success of your channel. You’ve spent so much time on Jewish, it’s amazing! Do what interests you now. If you really feel like it do a Jewish video only once a month, but you aren’t obligated to do anything you don’t feel like doing. ✌️
The way you pick up every little detail is fascinating! I've watched most of them a while back but haven't noticed any.. You're really musical. Keep it up like it very much.
This song is very well known song. It is originally from Avraham Fried. It was on one of his albums back in the early 90’s. Zanvil really relates well to Avraham Fried songs because vocally they are very Similar.
This is a very well known song, the content of the sung in short is a quote from the Torah of Moses saying "I am 120 years old today and Gods word is not far from you it's not in the sky and not over seas where you would say who will go get it for us, rather it is very close to you".
The boys' caps are called kashkets, or kashketels. Young Hassidic boys, especially those who are from Rabbinic families, wear them on the Sabbath and Holidays and other special occasions. They were worn in Europe, mostly in Russia and Poland.
Thanks for checking him out I've been waiting for you to check him out! Appreciate it & I'm enjoying every single video you are posting keep it up! & with regards to Zanvil the thing with him is that he sings extremely effortless & when you think he's reached his highest note he always takes it a notch higher
This is your channel and I'm loving your way of doing things, please don't feel pressured to stop doing what you want to. Also, on the 'panel' of people, just to left of the gentleman you said set it up, the rabbi sitting rather slouched, was the Gadol Hador, which means he was the highest rabbi in the Jewish nation. He unfortunately passed in March 2022 and it shook the country of Israel and jews all over the world.
This is a classic song composed by Yossie Green. I think he invented the slow, emotion-filled song that has a fast portion like this. He has a bunch of great ones. Most of which were originally sung by Avraham Fried.
I think it's a good channel and you put on good stuff for the people that want only the music reactions I think it's a good idea to make a Playlist of the music reactions it should be easier to access.
hey, i am enjoying your music reactions and those documentaries and you can try whatever else you want, if it interests me i'll watch and if i do not like a specific one i may skip the vid. and wait for the next one and i may try to watch anyways and be surprised to even enjoy it, either way it's your channel and you can choose your stuff.
Wow. for the first time I'm one of the first to comment 🙂 There are benefits for leaving in Israel as Shabbat ends here earlier than in America (they still have at least 6 hours until they can touch their computers). I admit I started watching your videos because of your reactions to Jewish music (you even introduced me to songs I didn't know before, lol), but watching your reactions and your open-minded approach, I'm sure I'll find interest in any other content you choose to react to, Jewish related or not. I'm just lucky that you started with the Jewish content, otherwise I would probably not reach your channel at all. It's your channel, and you should definitely do whatever interest you. Whatever content you choose to upload - I'm here, and I'm staying! That being said - - In some Galician Hasidiscs (Galicia is a historical and geographic region spanning what is now southeastern Poland and western Ukraine), children wear a kind of casket hat called dachek or dashik, which in Polish means roof (Dach). It is so named because of its small visor. The band wear casket hats. Different Hasidic groups have different types of hats, it requires a master degree to understand... 😜 - At 12:55 - Me'ever hayam = beyond the sea. Zanvil Weinberger has a beautiful voice (even though his songs aren't really my type). That song is originally Avraham Fried's (here live, not so good, I'm afraid: ruclips.net/video/Pqu3-Ybx_E4/видео.html). It's quite a known one. It is not in the heavens, that you should say, “Who among us can go up to the heavens and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?” Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who among us can cross to the other side of the sea and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it? No, the thing is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to observe it". Tzippy
At 7:35 the rabbi sitting second to the left is Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky. He was respected as being one of the greatest leaders in the jewish world of the last generation. He passed away last March. Approximately one million people attended his funeral as seen here ruclips.net/video/lD-rWWi1MnE/видео.html
Thanks so much for everything..we love all kinds of reactions... Please check out more of Zanvle, I would suggest a song called "min hashumayim... Thanks again
Good evening!! The song is actually a quote from The fifth book of the Torah, in which Moses commanded the people of Israel to follow the Torah, "lo mever layam" - the meaning is - not beyond the sea, To learn Torah and keep Commandments, there is no need to ascend to heaven or cross the sea, because the thing is very close to you, reversible and in your heart to do it! Thank you!
Thank u for checking him out!!🤣 I really love you reactions and comments on every video you do music and not!! thanks a lot! I would recommend you to check out @Efraim Markowitz a relative new music genie in the Jewish world of music
You correctly identified the gentleman in the middle as the founder of the organization that created this event. And he is from Toronto. As is Shloimy from the Peter santenelo series.
Hi. I've been enjoying your videos. In terms of your concern that you'll be pigeon-holed into reactions to Jewish music/content, other RUclips creators have different channels for different interests so it doesn't mess with the RUclips algorithm. Thank you again for all your very interesting insights on your videos!
This song is verses from the Torah, the Bible specifically talking about the mitzvah to repent on misdeeds: Describing, that "this mitzvah (commandment to repent), is not a farfetched matter for you thst you cannot do, its not far over the ocean or in heaven that you can say that you cannot reach it, but it is very near to you to do, it is within your own mouth and heart to do"
You do an amazing work, your platform is wonderful, you are genuine and authentic! Haters gonna hate, and it shouldn't even bother you the slightest. Honestly, if you'd only know what the person is like on the other side of the keyboard, you wouldn't even be surprised with the things people write... Zanvil is amazing, and he is effort less.. he didn't even sing on his highest notes.. but you got a good performance of his. I am very curious for your next reaction videos on the Hassidic life... i am very amazed by the way you ask the exact perfect questions.. On that note - Thanks for everything you do, Thanks for the tremendous respect and dignity you give us Thanks for being so curious and quiz-full! If you want to learn more about the inner depth of Yiddishkeit (Judaism) search Rabbi Mannis Friedman (father of the singer Banny Friedman, and Brother of Avraham Fried) And you'll discover so much about truth, Love and Humanity, and most of all - What does it mean to serve G-D as a human being (as opposed to an angel... We are not meant to be angles. we are Human.) All the very best! P.S. check out these songs: ruclips.net/video/F_iZJnFyxOY/видео.html - Unity (by many of jewish singers) ruclips.net/video/XWZZEIwEur0/видео.html - Al Ha - Nissim - A jam by Avraham Fried and Yishay Ribbo + Yonattan Razael (it's a spontaneous jam.. really fun!) ruclips.net/video/_mIHE4TqX08/видео.html - Yehi Rotzon - Ohad Moshkowitz and Yonatan Sheinfeld LIVE (a HASC performance from over 10 years ago) start from Minute 1:10 of the video... ruclips.net/video/W-RkJMQmlRk/видео.html - Say Shema Yisroel by Nochum Stark from Miami Boys choir - he is considered by many as the greatest soloist of all times... watch from the minute 41:07 (you can watch to the entire performance too... one of Miami's greatest productions of all time.) There is so much more to recommend -enjoy!
I really appreciate the kind words and appreciation for the content. I don't mind if people want to hate in the slightest, just wanted to make it clear that I'm doing what I'm doing out of my own curiosity to learn and grow, and that's what is important to me. I'm so fascinated with the videos/concepts/music that I've come across this far and I feel like I've only scratched a small surface!
I will quote a saying of one of our holiest spiritual masters - The Ba'al Shem Tov. It says in the book of Psalms - the torah of Hashem is wholesome. Wholesome can be interpreted as well as untouched. So our master explains that even with all of our studying throughout thousands of years, all of our sages, all of the masters, all of the teaching and learning we constantly do - even after all of that, the torah is so big and deep that it is remained UNTOUCHED - WHOLESOME - thats the meaing of the torah is wholesome. So mate, you are scrapping the surface, and i wish you to discover so much more, to learn so much more and with every step you take you should feel - wow! I feel i am just scraping the surface... there is so much more. Thank you holly brother Btw, i don't think we know your name... we just refare to you as Portugease pai but we don't know your name... Thanks again for all See you in the next video
You talking about my musical taste? Thanks! It's good even if i say so myself 😅 I tend to stick to deep and quality music. Donni Gross production, good old Abie and some real good music.. Thanks for your kind comment
@Portuguese Pai, I would highly recommend Yeshiva Boys Choir - Daddy Come Home. It's a beautiful and very emotional song. It also has a very moving music video. It's a must for you to view!!
He's actually considered a regular singer he's good at doing Cantor style singing too, if you're interested in checking out more of him check this out ruclips.net/video/58TxEYKKLxw/видео.html this is a song he composed himself & it's bringing out more of his singing capabilities, I feel like the video you watched is not even close to what he's capable of
Regarding all the drama and emotion: Don't overthink it. Here's the reality: New RUclipsrs and RUclips channels have many barriers to entry. Everyone dreams of blowing up. Few do. If you stumbled into a niche that is helping your channel grow, ride that train like a pony until it's depleted. If you got lucky and are on an upward trajectory from making music video reactions, take advantage of it. When it plateaus, then return to your desired content. These opportunities come rarely.
The hats the boys are wearing are called Kasketlech, or kasketel in the singular inflection. The higher hats on the choir members are called “hoicher (high) Samet, or Beeber hit,” as opposed to flacher, or platchiger Beeber hit, meaning flat, or low beeber hit. They’re both “beeber,” meaning beaver fur hats. And yes, everyone knows this song. The gist of its meaning is that the Torah (bible) is attainable to all beings, and that it’s not trapped up in the stratosphere. The lyrics are from Deuteronomy 30:12-13
I wish you'd reach out to me directly. I'd answer all or at least most of your questions about all of this. I'm both a member of their community as well as a producer of their style of music.
You should see the original by Avraham fried. From Zanvil that is something more iconic to him. Check out Zanvil - Atah Nigleisa (or with its other name - Min HaShemyim), the high notes there is mind blowing
Among the connoisseurs of chazzanus (cantorial music) there is a special category for those cantors who "speak" as apposed to "sing" their songs. In other words, while some cantors are magnificent performers and singers, there are those special cantors who communicate their songs and are not just performing a show. Mostly, this special category is filled with cantors of the early days of recording, Zavel Kwartin, Yossel Rosenblatt, Pier Pinchik, Moshe Koussevitzky, et al. We have a precious few living cantors who can communicate what they're saying, where that words come straight from their hearts. Who among the living cantors finds themselves in this group is under discussion constantly. Sometimes a heartfelt communicator will find himself a new voice coach and adopt a new style, excluding him from that group. The only example I'm comfortable declaring (although he is not technically a cantor and his heartfelt sincerity depends a lot on the crowd's energy) is Avraham Fried.
We're not disagreeing, I guess I didn't express the idea properly. I'm saying that among the highly trained and fantastic chazzanim, while all are enjoyable to listen to, some really touch your heart with their tefillos. My point is not to include/exclude anyone in particular, because that's very subjective, rather just to share this theoretical framework.
Ya totally agree I've inked the same video as you in my comment ... funny how we both thought of the same video, but agree that on this video he's not even close to what he is capable of
Son tan sublimes estas canciones, por que los judíos no solamente estudian música, si no que muy importante su conección con el Santo y Bendito creador del universo Hashem todo poderoso, y a el elevan estas canciones.
Omg you've become monetized by RUclips! Congratulations! I have never been this genuinely happy to see an ad on RUclips before. I love all your videos, not just the music ones. Keep em coming
The song is about learning Torah the mitzvah is not in the heaven not across the ocean meever layam but it's close to you heart to do it with your thoughts speech and deads
The song starts with a preamble in Yiddish and at 08:53 in your video switches to Hebrew quoting verses from Deuteronomy 30:11-14 which start off "For this commandment (Mitzva) which I command you this day, it is not too hard for you, neither is it far off."
The full text is from Deuteronomy 30: Surely, this Instruction which I enjoin upon you this day is not too baffling for you, nor is it beyond reach. It is not in the heavens, that you should say, “Who among us can go up to the heavens and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?” Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who among us can cross to the other side of the sea and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?” No, the thing is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to observe it. (The last line is the chorus - "The thing is very close to you...")
Bro, ignore the algorithm, those of us who like your content on Judaism will will watch whatever it is, so long as it's jewish related. Also I personally quite like your culture news videos you make, where you point out negative and ridiculous trends in the media. Be well, be happy, enjoy the soul of youtube as a small channel, this is the real life.
Firstly, ignore the commenters who think you work for them. It's your channel and your choice of what to do As you saw, Zanvil is an extremely versatile singer. We actually don't refer to him as a cantor although he can do cantorial pieces extremely well As to your question about the hats: the children's hats are worn by some hasidic children on special occasions and the mens' "top hats" are worn by hasidic men during the weekdays and by unmarried men on shabbos and holidays (while married men wear streimels on those occasions)
@@PortuguesePai the cantor title is generally only used for the singers that do strictly cantorial music such as Yitzchok Meir Helfgot, Yaakov Stark and Yanky Lemmer. Singers like Zanvil Weinberger and Shulem Lemmer who are more versatile dont use that title as to not limit themselves to cantorial gigs. Its not an insult in any way, it's more of a branding thing
@@ygross18 Ahhhh, that makes sense. To be honest, I would never look at that title as an insult in anyway, but I can see how it would maybe close off some opportunities if people only viewed you as that type of singer.
Please check this Zanvil piece out - in the intro it has a bit of the theme from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly ruclips.net/video/HIQYYYfd64Y/видео.html - thanks so much!!

Since the ultra-orthodox don't listen to female singers, they basically replace that high-pitch/falsedo with children. It yields a similar effect.
Also, yes zanvil. He's awesome.

P.S. check out these songs:

Rotzon - Ohad Moshkowitz and Yonatan Sheinfeld LIVE (a HASC performance from over 10 years ago) start from Minute 1:10 of the video...
ruclips.net/video/W-RkJMQmlRk/видео.html - Say Shema Yisroel by Nochum Stark from Miami Boys choir - he is considered by many as the greatest soloist of all times... watch from the minute 41:07 (you can watch to the entire performance too... one of Miami's greatest productions of all time.)
There is so much more to recommend -enjoy!
I like your taste. Not to say no one else deserves opinions, but I can tell you understand and appreciate good music
Thank you holly brother
Btw, i don't think we know your name... we just refare to you as Portugease pai but we don't know your name...
Thanks again for all
See you in the next video
You talking about my musical taste? Thanks! It's good even if i say so myself 😅
I tend to stick to deep and quality music.
Keep doing what YOU desire!
He's actually considered a regular singer he's good at doing Cantor style singing too, if you're interested in checking out more of him check this out ruclips.net/video/58TxEYKKLxw/видео.html this is a song he composed himself & it's bringing out more of his singing capabilities, I feel like the video you watched is not even close to what he's capable of
This song is another classic, like Tanya.
One more great suggestion- Lo Beruach HaShem by Avrum Chaim Green (originally by Miami boys).
Regarding all the drama and emotion:
Don't overthink it.
Here's the reality:
New RUclipsrs and RUclips channels have many barriers to entry.
Make sure to check out the freilach band shama Israel medley, you will love it..
I wish you'd reach out to me directly. I'd answer all or at least most of your questions about all of this. I'm both a member of their community as well as a producer of their style of music.
Zanvil Weinberger is the most wonderful jewish singer you'll love his videos
Love you man!
You should see the original by Avraham fried. From Zanvil that is something more iconic to him. Check out Zanvil - Atah Nigleisa (or with its other name - Min HaShemyim), the high notes there is mind blowing
You should see his latest video with shia kaller
Check out Nissim Saal. Probably the greatest voice you’ll ever hear.
check out min hashamayim by zanvil weinberger
This clip is where Zanvil hits the notes

Ya totally agree I've inked the same video as you in my comment ... funny how we both thought of the same video, but agree that on this video he's not even close to what he is capable of
@@allforcreativity it's actually a different link but same performance
Thank you for all
From him is there much much better stuff to check out.
It's worth to check out even if You are not planning to post it...
Son tan sublimes estas canciones, por que los judíos no solamente estudian música, si no que muy importante su conección con el Santo y Bendito creador del universo Hashem todo poderoso, y a el elevan estas canciones.
Klezmer IS Jewish soul. Hundreds of years old.

The full text is from Deuteronomy 30:
Surely, this Instruction which I enjoin upon you this day is not too baffling for you, nor is it beyond reach.
It is not in the heavens, that you should say, “Who among us can go up to the heavens and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?”
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who among us can cross to the other side of the sea and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?”
No, the thing is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to observe it.
It's your channel and your choice of what to do
As you saw, Zanvil is an extremely versatile singer. We actually don't refer to him as a cantor although he can do cantorial pieces extremely well
As to your question about the hats: the children's hats are worn by some hasidic children on special occasions and the mens' "top hats" are worn by hasidic men during the weekdays and by unmarried men on shabbos and holidays (while married men wear streimels on those occasions)
Wow, that's pretty crazy that he's not considered in the realm of Cantors when he's definitely able to get into that range
