When I played this as a kid, The chapter complete doesn't speed up. Instead it slows down

I recently emulated this game on my Laptop. It is Janky as hell, but if you want a game where you just wreak the city as your fighting robots, it is kinda fun.
Also I spend way too long, about an hour long as barricade just destroying buildings until I died over and over again.

Bro I had this game in my old ass pc and didn't have so many bugs WTF
Also it doesn't have those graphics, that's like the Xbox version I think, the ps2 version doesn't have that weird spin when they transform
