    What one bike store told me, when filling your air up on the tires, make sure your stem is at the top half of the tire. This will prevent your slime from oozing out, which could cause a clog in the valve allowing for a slow leak.

    Ok so I have had mine for 500 miles.
    The range is highly exaggerated. I use pas 5, flat terrain, 230 lb rider. Less than 15 miles. I commute to work 9.6 miles away and I have to charge the single battery at work to make it home.
    I tried doing doordash on it using pas 3, and I was only able to get around 2 hours of ride time. It is most definitely NOT great for delivery work.
    The front tire is already out of true.
    The rear brakes are shot.
    The roller guide does not hold the chain, and on bumpy roads the chain will jump it.
    The tires are extremely slick in wet conditions.
    The handlebar stem rattles.
    All that being said, I like riding the bike. Its been very helpful for me to get to work. Even in Texas 100 plus degree weather.
    Do yourself a favor and get a second battery, and since their chargers are not dual chargers, buy a second charger so that you dont have to spend 14 hours charging two batteries, one at a time.

      Many if not most mileage claims are exaggerated. Its always been that way. Alsoi of note...I can travel 100 miles on my bike yet my brother can travel but 40 miles. The maxinmmum possible distance that can be achieved traveled is highly rider and terrain dependent. There will never be accurate mileage claims.

I love the dual battery feature for the extra mileage plus the ability to increase the speed. I was just commenting today that I will I had an extra gear to two so not out pedal the bike. PASS 3 downhill I top out at 23-24 miles per hour even with pedaling. Due to my weight, I use up more battery that than the average person, so the second battery would allow me to keep up with my friends.. Great video review!

    One fatal flaw - it apparently uses a freewheel cassette instead of a freewheel hub. Which means no upgrades at all (you'd have a very expensive swap to do. I'm sure there's a way around this if anybody knows.) I would definitely want to upgrade to an 11 speed group set - they're snazzy.
    YAY! I just found out they make 11 speed FREEWHEELS and they're only 3mm wider than 7 Speed. Should bolt right up no issues. Use an 11 speed chain and you can use the existing front chain ring / crank. New derailleur and shifter and you're set for right around $99.95. The one drawback is you should keep a spare axle as these are much weaker because of unsupported axle length. TMI? Just wait. Grin Technologies now makes the ideal hubmotor to lace into your fat wheel - only $1,000 and worth it. ZOOOM.

    Did you have to drill the mounting plate to get the plus one on the rear most bolts? The mounting instructions use at least one set of the the outer thru bosses with a nut on the bottom. My plus one won't even let me mount it the way you have it, the holes are just barely not wide enough, which would be nice because I could then put the small basket on the rack with it and be able to haul some cargo and my kid at the same time.

    Shipping a two battery bike with one charger, when the charger doesn't charge both simultaneously was short sighted. Everyone will have to go back and order the second charger. Best case scenario would have been for them to have frame based charge port that managed both and allowed a 4 Amp charger to connect one place. If Lectric's concern is that people don't create a jerry rigged solution, this is exactly what would cause them to try that. Reading their manual's battery warnings, they clearly understand that battery fire liability is concern.

    How do you find the geometry in terms of the how far forward the seat is compared to the pedals? I had the XP 2. 0 Step Thru and found the seat too far forward which made you feel like you were on a Unicycle with the pedals right under your seat. Even with the seat all the way back & raised, my thighs and knees were cramped I I felt a lay back seat post would be needed. Pedaling didn't feel natural in this position and required more effort and caused more strain. (5ft9, 185lb, 40 year old rider) I couldn't get good leg extension with seat raised and moved to the rear. My other ebikes felt more natural in terms of relationship between pedals and seat. I felt the folding nature of the XP 2.0 caused them to have the seat post angle too verticle above the pedals instead of further back.

    • @Andrew-vt4jt
      @Andrew-vt4jt Год назад +2

      Great question. I didn't have any issues with the geometry. The seat can be adjusted up to 17 inches, and the quick adjustment for the front handlebar stem and angle allows you to dial it in without any tools. I never felt cramped with my pedaling like I have with other bikes.

      @@soupnazi81 I have slid my seat back a bit which helps, but I wonder about a modified seat tube that would move the seat backwards more. Gonna keep an eye on this one. Double key is ridiculous; I would rather have back up keys for a universal. I hope that the tire goop ain't the kind that wears out. The lower center of gravity for the haul end is smart. Needs a lockable ice chest that is bolted to the frame for all your frozen and cooled haul, and more. Probably something I would have to rig on my own. A big case gives one more time to shop on a supply run, and to visit more stores. The power and battery life appear to go the distance without a crimp, and I like the backup battery. Expedition, and Utilitarian needs are very close, if not the same.

    Nobody has yet designed a cargo bike which can be used by a wheelchair user with a foldout market stall and craft work desk.

    That bike looks very much like a "tern cargo bike". Made in viatnam ,electrics by Bosch. Every feature is the exact same. Except the "tern" is electric assist only , no throttle control , no pedal no go.

      Tern is made in Taiwan and has support in the us. They also offer 3 different drivetrains. From a high end Shimano, to enviolo, and rohloff. Than you add in chain or belt options as well. Gates belts systems are not cheap either. While this bike is based very much on the gsd, it is still a knock off. Tern is also very well tested. While this letric can be nice for delivery drivers, since low cost. The long term responsibility isn't going to be the best. Since the tires are proprietary.

    I know I'm hella late but I have a question.
    I the seat removable?
    I'm 6'7 and the adjustable handle bars along with the super long modular cargo area could actually be great for tall riders.
    That seat attachment in the first slot with the handle bars back and the seat removed would not only be great for my leg length but would still give me cargo room in the back to add the cooler

      Yes, you can take the seat post out, but the stock seat post is very long, so the default seat might work for you.

    I'm considering an ebike but also can this be charged with a solar generator? I've seen so with 50-60v

    • @chriskelvin248
      @chriskelvin248 Год назад

      It's possible, but it would be extremely risky without a proper charge controller. You can't just plug a 48V nominal PV panel into a 48V ebike battery and call it a day. Without the proper interface, the only safe way is to use an inverter off the PV panels and use the included AC bike charger.

    This thing is nice i ordered mines because of the sale they had going on and was concerned about how it would ride with weight and I was able to go 20-24mph with ghost piddling with my littler brother on I’m 255lbs 6’2he’s about 140lbs 5’9 also it does trottle only with weight up to 20mph with ease this thing is strong it really takes minimal effect with paddle assist…
    Only cons I can say as of right now is that the bike seat it comes with is uncomfortable forsure it’s firm also wish It came with dual charger for the dual battery option only rode 15miles so far but it was smooth….. it handles better than I expected

    Saying that higher end derailleurs are preferred would be a great thing to explain, instead of noting the preference without anything to support it.
    It could be due to perceived inefficiencies of the existing model, which we don’t hear about, or simply a preference which isn’t a knock so much as a something the subject is used to.
    Also, TWO KEYS?! That is not what I’d read and I’m blown away by that - although not as much as a single, almost ~1/2 day charge time…requiring the user to switch the charger to the second battery.
