The reason why this game has worse car damage then even 2019 is because the car manufactures have become more scared of their expensive production cars getting damaged, back then they didn't really care, they just wanted the cars to not be turned into a pancake
Codemasters said noone asked them about damage reducing. It was their own decision to keep good relations with car manufactures. Yep, modern developers are pathtetic cowards...

I wish companies like farrari or other companies arent as restricted as they are today. I just want a good damage system that is really good but alas.. When seeing people talking about the damage model not being good, I think that they wanted to be consistent instead of being different in every way. Or that and not having the time to do so. Thanks codemasters exc and EA! :D
I'm currently playing through original GRID from like 2008 or something like that and it has much better car damage than this one. I'm not sure what happened after Autosport, it was also much better than this.
Irony GTA or mortal kombat allow real actor face and body to be destroyed, hurt in brutal way. But this doesnt even have realistic crashes, human allow their own kind seen as joke in game and become less respected than their own creation
Arent these scripted crashes? At 1.22, is that player crash or ai? Looked cool if real time physics that can happen to you with wrong move driving. When i check gameplay vids players crash into things with no effect. Is there options for more hardcore aettings like that? Its better than i feared, a lot, if real time dynamic crashes.
Nah PS3 was way better than this, this damage is crap. Even the motion of this NASCAR crash was shit, back on PS3 that shit was badass, having pieces of fender hit your window, have tyres come flying at you, when you was done you spectate. Going underneath a AI or player flipping mid air and also you weaving through carnage, having a fender dig into your tyre until it burst and you flip or spin out, going over a incline in a lightweight car and flip at high speeds. Yeah you didn't play the originals dude if you think this is realistic. Also your all racing this game with no damage lol just a visual, because that's how this game should be raced full damage but then folk quit lol, every time i play this it's full damage and if i lose a wheel i still cross the line.

Compared to auto sport the damage is almost nonexistent but it’s better than other games like forza and GT7
