TAOFLEDERMAUS _Yes. The midair collision was terrible. Both planes and engines were completely destroyed._ Even talking with the pilots while analysing the video after the flight, they couldn't figure out about what or who caused the crash. In the evening, during the BBQ, the crash was already history and both pilots was waiting for the next noon show. *_Thanks for your great comments, my friend !_*
I may have told you that when I was first learning how to fly RC, I was flying a .40 sized trainer and it accidently crashed into a school room and the entire nose and engine went through the wall. It was barely cruising along too. oops!

Man Horst! I cringe evertime from the emotional experience and then the financial costs from losing one of those beautiful large scale planes and all the work that goes into them! What the heck at 1:38, looked like it was an intentional act at a midair collision? Great camerawork and editing! Danke for sharing Horst! Cheers my friend!

I just hate it to see those beautiful build airplanes go down, but somehow i need to see these clips. Maybe to learn from it lol. I have been building and flying model aircraft for + 10 years now, and still love it. Love your videos btw.
As always a fantastic video in high quality with epic crashes, one thing I didn't understand was the FW 190 in the trio formation, at a point it completely changes route and falls to the ground, was it a backout of the radiocontroll?
The propelller exploded and some debrits destroyed electrical components. Therefore the plane was totally uncontrollable. We were very lucky, the impact was out of range from pilots and spectators.
some awesome looking planes here, looking into the hobby myself though couldn't imagine how gutting it must be to crash... especially the larger scale warbirds, definitely not a cheap mistake that's for sure!
Feels very wrong to press thumbs up hehe. What did the pilots of the mid air say to eachother hehe. Your rc videos is the best on youtube. Looking forward to your videos 2017. Merry xmas and a happy new year to you
I've had some hairy landings over the years -- and a tree visit or two, as well as corn episodes! Big ouch with the P-51 that wrecked. And - heck that mid-air on low pass was total catastrophe. Oh my - that dive into the ground was beyond ouch - very painful. Bet that took some time to edit Horst - nice work.
Horst, Please give my sincerest condolences to the builders and the pilots. However, they must look on the bright side, now that they have put their aircraft together they can now understand how they come apart. Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year to you! Sincerely, James

Hallo Horst, ich lag 3 Monate im KH. Habe auf Deiner Seite viel nachzuholen. Na ja, Weihnachten steht vor der Tür. Dann klappt das. Zum Video: oh je oh je!!!!!! MfG der Peter von der Insel Usedom
I dont know anything about RC planes or anything RC, but I would like to think that many of these planes are really expensive, but to me it seems like the landing gear is really weak. Like in many of the RC plane crash videos I have seen lately, there are many times problem with the landing gear while in air or during landing, and many of the crashes happens after the plane is landed. Why is it like this? I really want to know, really like this RC videos.
Great video. Some good pilots and some bad. I like to fly formation put practice with the other person. I would never fly with so many planes up at once.
Wonder if they added some sort of catch net off to the side, if you know you are going to have a bad landing, try to aim for the net? Hate to see such awesome models destroyed.
Hi Horst! It's been a long time since I've had a chance to watch one of your videos! You haven't lost your touch - great job with your video and putting this together. I can feel the pain because I've been there before too! Take Care, Ron
Awesome video my friend!!!! 😃👍🏼 Some great footage!! I know you go to a LOT of different places so if you happen to come across a Toledo Special for sale or a new in the box plane please let me know ASAP so I can buy it and ship it across the pond. My friend crashed his last year and it was his favorite plane. They don't make or sell them anymore. It's made by Hanger 9 / Horizon Hobby. Cheers! 😉👍🏼
Due to the problem of aerodynamic layout, the aircraft of World War II must maintain a certain speed when landing. The speed must be higher than the stall critical point, but not lower than the stall critical point. Once stalled, it will lose control, so a safer way is to increase the speed appropriately. Falling speed, but this also brings up the issue of running length and whether it is flat. If you are running on grass, you must consider the issue of flatness. This is a great test of the driver's speed and landing control abilities. It is known that almost most accidents occur during the landing stage of model aircraft.
Tausende zerstörte Arbeitsstunden... :(

Auf ein gelungenes nächstes Jahr...

+RCScaleAirplanes Wow that was a very unique crash, glad to know the plane was rebuilt and flyed again!😀
No Leonardo. Due to the heavy impact, the plane was irreparably damaged.
The crash shown in the other clip was the year before.
