Hey, NFL media team. This is an amazing idea, that you should definitely do more often. There are some AMAZING youtube film studiers out that should receive the spotlight for their hard work, much like Brett. Please keep doing collaborations like this.
By mid-november, I was ultra confident my Chiefs were top dogs. The Eagles and the Bills had already peaked, and I was relieved to see the 49ers' offense remaining sluggish and off pace. And entered Purdy against Miami. In his first nfl game, that 3r stringer not only humbled Tua, but outclassed Lance and Garoppolo. And in only three games, Purdy's reads, speed and veteran-grade poise and execution have elevated Shanahan's playbook to full efficiency. Much to my dismay, the combo of the 49ers' all-conquering defense, Shanahan's versatility, and Purdy serenely dealing to a deadly trio of game-changers like McCaffrey, Kittle and Samuel, will present more than a challenge to my beloved Reid-Mahomes gang. Love to all.
Brock has improved noticeably with each start. And the team loves him. Problem is front office gave up two firsts and a third to move up for Trey. Trey is still an injury prone project but the front office is committed to him. The sooner the Niners commit to Brock with Jimmy G as his mentor, the better.
@@elcid9054 he definitely passes the eye test and is already doing things we haven't seen from Lance or Garoppolo. If he can continue to improve, the Niners may have a franchise QB.
This is why I love sports! If Brock takes the Niners to the Super Bowl and wins that would be crazy. That's something that no one could have foreseen to start the year.
Then we have to ask why gm coach and scouts are paid millions, yet they purely rely on luck to find talent. And for the most part it's true. We have 2 3rd rounder RB who got beaten by every undrafted journeymen. Our picks in the first 3 rounds have seen more failure than success
I am very impressed with how he hangs out to make those throws knowing those big guys are about to slam him to the ground. I know quarterbacks are supposed to do that because that’s the job,but he’s not performing like a 3 string guy. I’m glad you brought up that fact of a 300 pound + guy barreling down on him. He also seems to be a pretty good guy. I didn’t follow football for a while. A friend told to watch a 49ers game with the 3rd string quarterback and I’ve been more than surprised and wanting to watch more from this guy.
Awesome to hear Brett on the NFL channel - been following him for mamy years and I've learned soooo much from him about football. His content is basically an instant-click for me.
Makes me so happy to see Brett's growth as someone who's played zero downs of organized football I always felt like I could understand and learn something from his videos keep it up Brett.
Good to remember that Brock was a 4 year starter so he has more experience than most new qbs just shows though that the "something" special also counts like it did with Tom Brady when drafted 6th round
Here after Brock got 15/20 with 178 yards and 3 TD's smashing the cards (and busted my dolphins, hurt me) kids got talent and starting to give garoppolo the hot seat🔥
He did score a 1.55 10 Yd drill time at the combine meaning his first step agility and quickness is 95th percentile amongst QBs… as that first play vs MIA showed
Very interesting! I thought he was faster in his 40 time 4.84 but Mahomes is great at escaping and he was 4.80. I'm guessing Mahomes first step is good too
I love that Brett is FINALLY getting some more recognition as a content creator, and is getting spotlight on NFL's channel. I know he used to be employed by the NFL, but the fact that he's on here makes me so happy. I've been a subscriber of his since he had around 10k, and I love seeing him get love. He deserves it so much. You're the best, Brett!
I love the detail and nuance you’re able to bring to your analysis. For example on the ball being under thrown (for good reason), I don’t think a lot of analysts would bring the perspective that you did.
Reminds me of Heinicke when he got the call for the first time. Putting everything out there with no regard for his own body. Amazed by his toughness and his willingness to show up for the team and his future, but you gotta take less hits if you want to survive as a starter. Hope he doesn't miss the point when he has proven to be good and that he can reduce the toll going forward.
Brett has one of the best, if not the best nfl film breakdown channels on RUclips. Been watching him for years, and it's great to see him being featured on the NFL channel.
That double screen fake to Aiyuk and McCaffree that ended with a Kittle TD was as beautiful a play as we’ve seen in the NFL. As a Packers fan, I have a love-hate relationship with the 49ers that have been the bane of our playoff existence the last few years. I’m still hopeful the Packers can somehow make it but, if not, I have my money on these 49ers taking home their 6th.
This is a big W for the NFL youtube team - more big sports orgs need to start partnering with youtube creators who are doing great work!! Happy for Brett and the NFL, in a weird way. :)
Crazy that we might have three elite QBs this off-season. Jimmy was top 3 EPA and yards per attempt before getting hurt. Lance has a lot of potential. And Brock is an excellent game manager and might have an even higher ceiling if given more freedom. You can’t write this stuff
@@constantinhausler9293 Yeah... Super happy to see a video of Brett on the official NFL channel but I just hate knowing that the 49ers will have a complete meltdown now. The Kollmann Curse cannot be stopped and I'm scared.
I remembered Brock showed glimpse of this in preseason games. I was impressed but because he was "MR Irrelevant" I assumed he could only do this against 2nd and 3rd string players. He showed up and made a huge splash the last 3 weeks. I think this kid is for real! Only time will reveal his true potential.
To think that about 10years ago,the 9ers were a dumpster 🔥, and had run Harbaugh outta town. Now they are the standard. Props to Jed York on dialling it back down and letting the experts revive his team
I'm not a 49ers fan, I'm a Cowboys fan (alright guys, don't hate!) but I am a Brock Purdy fan just for the fact that he was picked LAST in the NFL draft and is proving himself everytime he gets on the field and shows that he belongs. I'll bet all the teams that selected all those players in front of him regret they didn't select him - weather they needed a QB or not. Along with watching the Bucs due to Tom Brady the Niners is my newest addition of "alternate teams" I root for just because of those players. Even if they lose I like to see those players performing well in their games regardless. GO BUCS AND NINERS - but BOO when you play against my 'Boys!😜
Watching his Iowa State highlights, it's kind of surprising to me that no NFL team picked him (until the Niners with the last pick). The Niners had studied him, and he correctly was the ace up their sleeve.
In addition to the poise under pressure and aggressive throwing, you missed a key third factor: His quickness. This is a much overlooked skill. And it gives him the ability to extend the play when those 300 lbs monsters are closing in on him.
so happy to see @brettkollmann get the airtime he deserves here. he's one of the best at breaking down film. imagine forming an opinion based on empirical evidence haha.
The odds that you're third string qb who is also Mr irrelevant from this past draft coming out and basically outperforming the qbs ahead of him...pretty low lol him just being on the team or a suitable backup is a win. They got lucky af. That and McCaffrey somehow staying healthy (knock on wood) for this many games. They are gonna be a problem.
Purdy is playing like he doesn't give an F, but in a good way. So he has no nerves and is just being natural. He's like a middle school kid who asks out a high school cheerleader
Wouldn't suprise me if Brock Purdy's success impacts the way QBs are evaluated. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson may well have helped some less refined but high upside prospects getting drafted higher than they would have otherwise, so I could imagine stuff like poise and a lot of college experience could be valued more in upcoming drafts in order to find "the next Brock Purdy".
@Jeff House Right, although I would say that Mahomes and especially Allen were not considered surefire picks. They were raw coming into the NFL whereas Burrow was the most refined college quarterback to enter the draft.
