Goddamn, what an incredible job mate, I finished the PSX version with Nadia a few days ago and had a lot of trouble, if I knew about that double jumping slash combo that always dismembers, it would've saved me a ton of pain when dealing with Dockers, Gargoyles and Hellhounds. Fantastic and informative playthrough.
This looks so different from what it looked like with its original resolution and tiny drawing distance. Now I can actually see what the monsters are supposed to be!

I feel people observe this but nobody puts into words how unique and unrestrained the pacing of this game really is. It's so twitchy and frenetic, almost everything moves as If animated and timed to double speed it really is a break-neck experience, for good and for bad. Even in modern times I don't think I've played a game that matches the pacing of this. Good thing too, as I feel it is a curio best left in the past, filtered with rosey glasses as if more games followed suit I don't think many players would be able to keep up! It's draining! At least in my perspective.
I played this game obsessively back then in my PC. CD had some bad scratches so I could never finish it. Now it's time I see how it ends. Thanks a lot for the upload!

I overclocked my Diamond Stealth II (4 MB, Verite chip)from 40 Mhz to 68 Mhz, superglued heat sinks to mem and added a fan to the gpu. All that to run this game smoother, and I still have it!

It seems to me like Nadia is way better since her combos easily allow you to slice and dice, quickly ending fights with even the toughest creatures, but I could never seem to do them with any consistency
Nadia. Back in the day when I first started playing it was Ignatius but over the years I found that I prefer Nadia. Her combos are a bit more fluid and devastating especially when you are using the power up that looks like a buzz saw blade.
Well, quite an improvement from back when I played it upon its initial release. The only thing that annoyed me is how she's a trained combatant who moves well, and yet one slip into the water, and you died. lol I mean, she's out there killing these things, yet she can't swim? Right.
The entire end credits is a custom edit, using two tracks (one of them is indeed Omen from Bloodborne). This was made because the PC version has no end credits, just very quick scrolling credits on the menu when one quits the game (shown at the very end of the video 2:06:10 ).
with relation to the cd audio, could be worth trying assigning the virtual drive to a letter closer to A than your physical one - may be even the D drive

maan. how you can have stage music? i burned it to cd from cue file but i have no stage music just like in the nocd version. or the problem is the win10 and the 1.2patch ?
The resolution of the graphics and the placement of a few items - the gameplay and sound/music are the same. The Japanese PS1 version has some notable differences from the western PS1 version (an added prologue, the platforms in the sewer level 18:48 are easier, the final boss has an energy bar).
You need to cap the frame rate to 30. The game's engine goes berzerk otherwise and the game plays in turbo if you don't - the game is running too fast in this video too.

I was game designer on NC, and I remember people complaining about the game being too difficult (and too dark), so we tuned it down the way we could. But we were a very small team (12 people at best) and we lacked serious testing to fine tune difficulty. Nice video tho.

It's an old Nvidia GeForce GT 640. I wasn't able to play the game with CD audio either, the music was added later when editing the clips.
