Modern graphics are toon clean and polished it would just shit on the style that made this game gothic and cool

Alot of people hated on this one, I never played it personally, but understandably, it was trying to hard to change up from the first and compete with legacy of kains edgy rockerboy protag style type crap, (raziel was actually cool af though and not a douchebag) and this game lacked the actual horror element the first had. I dont think Castlevania inspired Nightmare Creatures, this is the first time ive ever heard someone make this claim
In fact, I dont think anything inspired Nightmare Creatures
Its one of those games that originated itself from pure nothingness
In the 90s and early 2000s people often compared these games to Resident Evil...but to me they clearly have nothing to do with each other they are completely different games that happen to have a horror theme

I played through the first Nightmare Creatures games tons of times, and after seeing gameplay of this one I've always thought it looked bad as well as inferior to the first game. After having played it, I still stand by that. You never upgrade or learn anything throughout the entire game, unlike the first which had lots of combos AND two characters.

This game is simply a work of art. Only silent hill rivals this game in terms of immersing the player.
