Since they chose the theme of the bad side of the Zodiac, I think they should have done more unexpected color stories for each pallet instead of the typical colors associated with those elements.
Agree 1000% Or at least do an extreme sort of version? The bad zodiac is promo only and nothing to do with the actual makeup so… It’s like buying a product for the words written on the package. No thanks.
i will say the earth palette is the only one that isn't the typical browns that earth signs usually get for zodiac themed makeup which is nice. but the fire one is the most typical, boring rendition for fire signs ever.
From a marketing perspective I think these palettes are genius, especially for a release right before the holidays that isn’t “holiday” themed. The shade names are hilarious and I think between the four most people could find a color story that appeals to them. Good for whoever is doing the conceptual stuff over there 👏🏼👏🏼
I love the theme, but they should have said 'Shadow Side!' That's how we call the 'bad' traits of a zodiac sign. They are challenges we need to overcome to improve ourselves, so they aren't necessarily 'bad.' I love being a fire sign, but I hate that my palettes are always warm orange and red tones I don't want! :D
That’s how I feel about the water palette. I love being a water sign but it’s always blue!!! I really liked the colourpop astrology quads. For giving a more lavender iridescent which at least was different.

Now that you made me think of it - I often like the way the water sign palettes look more than I like the look of fire signs, but I honestly don't wear blues that much, either. I have very dark purple circles under my eyes that are hereditary and hard to hide, so blue just makes them look worse. I also have very blue eyes so I like a contrast. So I guess I wouldn't be much better off with your palettes either! D'oh!!! :D And yes, I agree - the ColourPop astrology quads are really nice. I have the cool toned Capricorn neutral one.

I am an earth sign and although I don´t really follow the zodiac signs, I totally feel that the general description of earth signs represents me quite well, for good and for bad 😂actually the earth signs palette is calling me, it is so beautiful! Also the air one is gorgeous, the purple halo look looked absolutely gorgeous on you, it complements your eye color so beautifully!
I would love the Earth palette (I'm a Taurus) if I didn't see the mattes in several palettes already released this year. I feel bad because they obviously had this color story planned for a while but the yellow, dark green, orange, and dark plum mattes have already been done in Adept x Heather Austin palette AND the Bard palette by Fantasy Cosmetica. Obviously they are slightly different but...if you have one you don't need the other.
I am a licensed manicurist and I can tell you that I learned so much more DOING nails than I ever got from nail school. I too never went to makeup school but I love makeup and play with it all the time…just because you don’t have a paper on the wall that said you passed some test, doesn’t mean you aren’t you aren’t the BOSS at makeup! 😂 Seriously…there is nothing you can’t do when it comes to makeup and it is contagious! I look at makeup completely different now…I used to look at a palette and think “ok what can I do with this” and now it’s “which colors are my favorites and how can I make a look I love”. You are amazing!

Your shapes and stuff are typically the same because that's what you prefer on your face, totally understandable. You’ve created such amazing looks with all the palettes. For my taste, this is one of those cases where I’d love to be able to cherry-pick a couple of shades from each palette that really caught my eye and make my own 8 pan palette 😅 that shiny glossy blue-black took my breath away and made me want to run to my Hela palette and mimicking it with Complete and some random blues… I just love glossy-looking sultry smokey eyes, and blue is one of my favourite shades to play on that ❤
Those were neat, pretty. They reminded me a lot of the BH Cosmetics birthstone palettes from a couple years ago. The Fire looked like July, the Air looked like February, and the Earth looked like August. The blue one is the only one that didn’t feel like a repeat of those but it did look a lot like Passion in Paris from BH as well. That dark blue shimmer was everything though!
I agree the fact they broke it down into four more affordable palettes instead of their large one last year was a nice touch. While watching your video I pretty much duped the four palettes with my three Sydney Grace temptalia palettes though, so I talked myself out buying them. Thank you Hannah Louise Poston!
The Earth color story reminds me of the Uoma Beauty Black Magic palette. I think that was my favorite look, too, although the Air palette made your eye color pop! Wowza.

Living through you with these palettes. I love yhe way they look, I own all of the Melt holiday things as well and my goblin heart says I need these. But my logic says no. So living vicariously through you it is!!! These looks were all amazing!
i looove the teal palette. but muted colours mixed with pastels or brights is just what i love, and teal/turquoise is one of my absolute favorite colours for eyeshadow. I think it is very much the same vibe as CP High tide that also have that dark shimmer, and that is one of my favorites! Really in to the earth one as well, but I also have and love subculture😇

Awww this is so pretty. I just used all my single green eyeshadows and did a green look but something was off until you mentioned that the yellow was the way to go. I added a yellowish gold to the center and bam! The whole came together. Thank you for the inspo!

I liked best the same ones you did, Air and Earth. Earth did automatically remind me of subculture for sure. Air because I am a Gemini. I dont believe in the zodiac either but i think sometimes its fun to see what they say about my sign. Having said that, I am indecisive so at least on that extent its true. But like the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I'm absolutely in love with the blues pallet!! I am going to by 3 out of 4. I was liking the fire pallet, but now after seeing you use it, I think the fire pallet will be the one I won't buy! And after seeing the mustard/green look, I will instead buy that pallet!

I have a number of Melt palettes. So I sat down an basically was able to dupe earth and water from my own melt collection. Water being the biggest offender being as those shades are found in blueprint and muerte. Earth I was able to dupe with smoke sessions, four twenty, Amore y mariposa and Gemini. The fire and air are more unique to melt. I only grabbed the air palette.
Love the yellow/Gold look 💛 the blue did look difficult to blend. Great price for those interest! Doing my face now and definitely doing your gold look!

As someone who is unapologetically into astrology, I can see myself picking up a few of these just because of the theme. I love the air sign palette and will most likely pick that one and the earth one up. Is it anything monumental? Probably not. Do I NEED it? Also probably not. But it’s a cute concept and seems like a good way to test out Melt since I haven’t tried any of their shadows yet.
I don’t own any melt palettes so that’s how I justified picking up the air palette, I like the color story, it includes my sign, plus is the vib rouge sale so it’s a win win.

I love Melt Cosmetics so much... But unfortunately they are so expensive that I rarely am able to buy anything from them. I really wanted last year's palette that came out, the sugar skull type pallets, but I just couldn't afford it, not when I have a child who I'm buying Christmas presents for, I can't in good conscious spend that much money on myself when I have like 500 makeup palettes already. And I wish I was exaggerating on that number LOL! But I do own one pallet from them, 2 if you count the blush palette, when they put the butterfly collection on an insane sale, I ended up getting that palette along with the blush palette for I believe $35 for the both. I still haven't been able to get a chance to play with it, even though I've had it for like 6 months at least LOL but one palette that I really did want from them was that Pinxx palette... It was really pretty but it seemed to have gotten really bad reviews so I didn't bother picking it up but I might check out their website because I haven't looked recently to see what they have going on. I've been trying real hard to be on a low by no buy... But that's not going very well🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣💜💜

Yeah I mention later on that some palettes had a so-so formula. But I personally feel the past couple of years they’ve been consistent :)

I dont believe in the zodiac either but i think sometimes its fun to see what they say about my sign. Having said that, I am indecisive so at least on that extent its true. But like the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I'm absolutely in love with the blues pallet!! I am going to by 3 out of 4. I was liking the fire pallet, but now after seeing you use it, I think the fire pallet will be the one I won't buy! And after seeing the mustard/green look, I will instead buy that pallet!

I have a number of Melt palettes. So I sat down an basically was able to dupe earth and water from my own melt collection. Water being the biggest offender being as those shades are found in blueprint and muerte. Earth I was able to dupe with smoke sessions, four twenty, Amore y mariposa and Gemini. The fire and air are more unique to melt. I only grabbed the air palette.
Love the yellow/Gold look 💛 the blue did look difficult to blend. Great price for those interest! Doing my face now and definitely doing your gold look!
The earth palette look you created would be a giant hit here in the PNW, it's the collegiate green & gold of the Oregon Ducks 💚💛

I like the idea of the shade names being characteristics of the signs, and their shadow aspects. Very cool idea for a gift for the zodiac-interested people in your life! I'm looking at these trying to decide which one my friend would like for her birthday, this is right up her alley

I really liked all of the looks that You created. The yellow and green and the purple halo eye are my favorite looks.
The purple one reminds me of the BH amethyst palette, all it’s missing is a blue.
I am so glad you are doing this video bc I saw these on the site and was surprised by them bc the rest of their stuff is on clearance and I was wondering if maybe they have improved their formula a bit to offset some inconsistencies.. also, it is so "Aquarius of you" to not believe in zodiacs lol just sayin :D

I was just talking about these palettes. I feel the fire is very similar to amor y mariposas and the water looks similar to Muerte. I'm leaning towards the other 2 but want to wait until I can see them in person. love the looks you did with earth and air.
I love the “dead inside” shade from the water palette but I’m more of a true blue person and I’m not a fan of teals so it’s a pass for me.
Same, I like the tones on their own, but as an eye shadow they remind me of "old peoples looks" where I'm from

I always love your videos!! Im a gemini so an air sign as well..but the earth palette is calling my name..I havent bought any new makeup since springtime but u always show me new techniques and color stories and for that i say thank you!! 💙💜
As someone who is unapologetically into astrology, I can see myself picking up a few of these just because of the theme. I love the air sign palette and will most likely pick that one and the earth one up. Is it anything monumental? Probably not. Do I NEED it? Also probably not. But it’s a cute concept and seems like a good way to test out Melt since I haven’t tried any of their shadows yet.
I don’t own any melt palettes so that’s how I justified picking up the air palette, I like the color story, it includes my sign, plus is the vib rouge sale so it’s a win win.

That dark blue metallic reminds me of the one from the BH cosmetics blue ice cream palette, and the purple is giving me colourpop vibes.

I love Melt Cosmetics so much... But unfortunately they are so expensive that I rarely am able to buy anything from them. I really wanted last year's palette that came out, the sugar skull type pallets, but I just couldn't afford it, not when I have a child who I'm buying Christmas presents for, I can't in good conscious spend that much money on myself when I have like 500 makeup palettes already. And I wish I was exaggerating on that number LOL! But I do own one pallet from them, 2 if you count the blush palette, when they put the butterfly collection on an insane sale, I ended up getting that palette along with the blush palette for I believe $35 for the both. I still haven't been able to get a chance to play with it, even though I've had it for like 6 months at least LOL but one palette that I really did want from them was that Pinxx palette... It was really pretty but it seemed to have gotten really bad reviews so I didn't bother picking it up but I might check out their website because I haven't looked recently to see what they have going on. I've been trying real hard to be on a low by no buy... But that's not going very well🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣💜💜
