    Great video, I like seeing what the GT can truly handle when stacked against extremely difficult obstacles. I think overall, it handled very well.

    • @motodad311

      I believe it did handle it well and a lot of the faults were on me as the rider more than the bike haha

    Keep up the great work. You’re giving me confidence with ever video. I love my GT Pro had it for about a week now and got my ass kicked on some trails. Love the videos and keep ‘em coming! 31 years old and had to find a hobby. Thanks brother for posting !

      Man, thank you for the compliment! I hear ya, I’m 33 and was outta shape and my kid races Moto; he asked me to get back into racing so I bought the aggressor to help get me back in shape haha byproduct of that was becoming slightly addicted to mountain biking haha
      If this bike had an air fork and better tires i wouldn’t hesitate to try any trails honestly

    I bought MAXXIS Rekon 2.6 for the rear and it’s been easy. But yes the stock tires are ass. Recently I upgraded to 1x11, went with microshift XCD and iXF crank with a 32T oval. The forks gotta go so not sure what route I’ll be going . Maybe fox or Rockshox

    • @motodad311
      @motodad311  Год назад +1

      I just ordered a rock shox Judy - I’ll be doing a video on the install and testing haha subscribe to stay tuned for that!
      I am over 500 miles on the stock fork and it just beats you to death haha I’m real excited for the rockshox air fork upfront

      @@motodad311 can’t wait to see that debating on when I’ll do that upgrade. Wasn’t a fan of the 3x8 grinding my soul away on climbs so I had no choice on doing an under $300, but I will let you know what I think of this upgrade tomorrow

    If you drill out the rivnuts on the seat post you can then lower your seat all the way. I'll have to double check but i think it's a 19/64 drill bit.
    Edit: Damn I lied.. The GT frame uses bosses not rivnuts. scratch that.
    Well for future help with other bikes, if they use rivnuts on the bottle cage holder, on the seat post you can drill out the rivnut and give yourself some more drop in the seat post.

    • @motodad311
      @motodad311  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I looked into it I wish it was a rivnut or nutsert haha. I was thinking about cutting off some of the post too so I could go lower

    • @perkinatorfpv5553
      @perkinatorfpv5553 Год назад

      @@motodad311 what about a 3" vertical slot in the seat post? that way you still have inserted length when up hiigh and it can slot through the boss when lowering it.
      either way, it doesn't solve the problem if you're looking to get a dropper

    Buy you an external cable routed dropper post and you’ll never want a bike again without it. Your doing good.
    I have a haro double peak same build is that but changed all the stuff. If your head tube is external bearing wolf tooth makes a bearing to adapt to a tapered fork when you change that. I have a hi end FS Marin Riftzone 3 and your doing this right. You can get down on either kind of bike.
    You can fab or buy a chain tensioner if you stay without a clutched one. But there cheap to buy. Your having fun and so am I happy trails sir.

      @motodad311  Год назад

      Thanks for watching!
      The seat tube in the frame is an odd size, I can’t seem to find a dropper post for it
      Same with the neck tube, it’s straight 1 1/8 so as far as tapered steerer I’m kinda screwed there too haha
      I’m gonna order a clutched derailleur soon haha

    Got my aggressor pro about a month ago for $300 CAD, upgraded to a rockshox judy silver air forks for $240 and it makes any route with roots, bumps/drops so much more do-able, the stock fork does a great job of bouncing you around and I feel the upgrade has made the bike so much more fun to ride (and safer tbh).

    • @motodad311
      @motodad311  Год назад

      I totally agree haha, an air fork is defiantly in my near future… however I set a goal to do 1000 miles on stock suspension haha I’m a month and 200 miles in so far haha

    Looks like you already converted to 1x and put on a shorter stem. Put on a 120mm air fork and 2.4 wide trail tires like hans dampf and itll ride like a dream. The longer fork will also improve the geometry of the bike. Wider tires will let you run lower pressure to absorb shock and get more grip. Those skinny tires are too hard and bouncy.
