For this specific transfer vehicle, I sent a tanker to fill the single tank, and then 4 additional launches to then refit new fueled drop-tanks, as I built them using linear docking ports instead of decouplers. I then sent a crewed mission to resupply food, water, oxygen, nitrogen, and swap depleted nuclear fuel with more enriched uranium. Parts wear out over time and from radiation exposure so a crew member on EVA went over the whole craft to inspect and repair the various parts via right-clicking the parts. I had to do this during parts of the mission as well as the engines have limited ignitions and burn durations.

Keeping the capsule on the craft was an added contingency if I ran into issues. The extra living space also improved living requirements for kerbalism, making the crew gain stress just a little bit slower over the course of the mission. If I also returned to kerbin without enough delta-v to capture, I could let the ship fly off on a heliocentric orbit and enter direct with the crew capsule
A craft finally worthy of reuse! This one will be refurbished for A Dres mission Next!
Is there a way you refurbish crafts in kerbalism? Do you just send a crew of engineers up or something like that?
